Dedé eager for Cruzeiro debut

Dedé admitted that he is eager to make his debut for Cruzeiro, following long and complicated negotiations.

The transfer had beem delayed due to Vasco´s debts with Brazil´s National Treasury, but the deal was finally made official earlier this month.

He is expected to debut on Wednesday night, when Cruzeiro face Resende for the second round of the Brazilian Cup.

Dedé talked to reporters about his expectations, he said: "I am surely ready, I have trained a lot, three weeks working hard, all kinds of training routines, and I am happy that the time debut is coming."

"I am prepared, I am physically fine, but not match fit, although I am physically well."

Dedé took 17 free kicks during training this morning, scoring one goal and hitting the post one.

He said the following about it: "It was a training just to adapt to get used to the football, I always like to train, to adapt to the football."

"I have trained with a different football, but I have scored a free kick goal at Vasco. I will work, I think I have potential and can improve a lot taking free kicks."

Seedorf named best player of the 2013 Carioca league

Botafogo´s Dutch player Clarence Seedorf has been named the best player of the 2013 edition of the Rio de Janeiro State League.

His team Botafogo won the competition and also dominated the list of award winners, having eight players in the Team of the Year as well as the best manager and best newcomer.

Ang. lønnen ligger han pt. på £70k/ugen. Det er næppe at betragte som en "giganthyre", selvom det selvfølgelig kan virke voldsomt for en fattigrøvsklub.

Efter en hurtig hovedregning snakker vi en årsløn ikke langt fra 4mio. euro. Det er alt for meget for en spiller af hans niveau og perspektiver.

Og ja, min fattigrøvsklub kan som en af mange spanske og i det hele taget sydeuropæiske klubber ikke hamle op med et sådan beløb, da klubbens lønloft ikke en gang når 2,5mio. euro pr spiller (Soldado), så kommentaren omkring PrL var måske ikke helt ude i hampen.

En fattigrøvsklub er alle dage at foretrække over den britiske lavkultur (Benidorm er skrækeksemplet), som passivt tages imod hos sofaseeren af Tipslørdag, diverse Manager-spil og andet populærkultur.

Mjaeh, altså engelske Arsenal ? rent lavpraktisk kunne det være en mulighed + plus han får kamptræning - spørgsmålet er om det er godt nok til Felipão - med tanke på Ramires´ landsholdsplads eller mangel på samme. og så kunne det jo være at Julio Cesar gerne ville vinde noget igen med et klubhold :-)

Fernandinho tweets desire to join Man City

Shakhtar´s Fernandinho confirmed on Twitter that he wants to join Premier League outfit Manchester City this summer.

The Brazilian has been angling for a move to the Premier League for some time and when asked on Twitter if he wanted to join the Citizens, his response was straightforward.

When asked: "Do you want to join City? Please answer! Really hope you join", Fernandinho replied: "yes my friend!!!"

Reports suggest that Manchester City are in pole position to sign the Brazilian this summer but any move would be on hold with a change of managers.

One potential stumbling block to any move is the hefty €47 million buyout clause reportedly in Fernandinho´s Shakhtar contract and the player himself admitted: "My dream is being threatened by my valuation."

Grêmio rule out sacking manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo

Grêmio´s board have ruled out the possibility of sacking manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo, despite the team´s poor results recently.

A meeting was held on Monday to decide his future, and unlike what was expected, the board came to the conclusion that he has to stay.

Grêmio executive director of football Rui Costa said: "It´s important to tell the fans that Luxemburgo is the manager of Grêmio. We´ll keep believing in his work."

"We met and only then we have expressed this position. We had a talk and that´s very important for us keep following our goals."

Rui Costa added: "I would be an idiot if I didn´t notice all the speculations that are being made, this is why I am saying to tell the fans that Luxemburgo will remain at the club."

Seedorf plans to see out his contract with Botafogo

Botafogo´s Dutch star Clarence Seedorf has affirmed that he plans to see out his contract with the club.

He has been linked with a move to AC Milan, to become the team´s next manager following the team´s third place in the Italian league.

Seedorf is under contract with Botafogo until next year, and he plans to remain there, he told reporters: "I am adapted. Rio de Janeiro has always been in my heart and I have always felt affection for Brazil."

"It´s a great joy to have success here, and have good experience with other people here."

He added: "Brazil is the Mecca of football, it´s very special to live here and play in the country. It´s a very enriching situation. I intend to see out my contract"

Seedorf completed: "The Brazilian League is very hard, all games are tough. I believe that with our work we can fight for the title, but we are not favorites."
