If Santos want, Neymar will leave, says his agent

Neymar´s agent Wagner Ribeiro has admitted that Neymar can leave Santos, amid interest from Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Catalan club have reportedly offered 18 million Euros and a friendly game to convince Santos to sell him, but Santos turned the offer down.

Cadena Ser from Spain claims that Real Madrid have also already made an offer, which Santos have been expecting since last week.

Neymar´s agent Wagner Ribeiro talked about Neymar´s situation, he said: "Everything is in Santos´ hands, we have showed them the offer and they will decide."

"If Santos want, he will leave, otherwise he will stay until the end of his contract."

Neymar da Silva Santos, who is the father of the young star, prefers that he stays until the end of his contract in 2014.

LA PLATA -- Juan Sebastián Verón anotó dos goles en el entrenamiento que este martes desarrolló el plantel de Estudiantes de La Plata en City Bell y en la institución de la capital bonaerense se ilusionan cada vez más con que regrese a la actividad profesional a partir del próximo campeonato.
Verón, quien a los 38 años continúa con la puesta a punto con vistas a un eventual regreso tras su retiro del fútbol en junio último, completó los 40 minutos que duró el ensayo y se mostró en gran forma física y futbolística.

El primero de los tantos fue una volea magnífica que venció al arquero Germán Vouilloud, mientras que el segundo lo consiguió valiéndose de un remate cruzado durante el ensayo de fútbol.

De esta práctica participaron Jonathan Schunke, Gastón Fernández, Guido Carrillo, Matías Sarulyte, Gastón Gil Romero, Agustín Silva, mientras que Marcos Gelabert realizó tareas físicas y mañana se sumará a las tareas del resto del plantel.

El volante sufrió una fuerte contractura en el aductor derecho, pero está recuperado y se pondrá a disposición del técnico.

En cuanto a Verón, se entrena todos los días y cumple los trabajos casi a la par que el resto. El hoy director deportivo del club sigue sin hablar públicamente y se mantiene un gran interrogante en cuanto a su futuro, más allá de las especulaciones periodísticas que se puedan hacer sobre la decisión que tomará.

La idea del regreso se mantiene, pero hay que ver en las próximas jornadas cuál es la respuesta del tobillo derecho. No hay que descartar que el hermetismo se mantenga, Verón realice la próxima pretemporada y ahí defina si vuelve o no a jugar.

Bolivia: Citados para Eliminatorias

LA PAZ -- El técnico de la selección boliviana de fútbol, Xabier Azkargorta, convocó hoy a 26 jugadores, incluidos ocho ´foráneos´, para enfrentar a Venezuela y Chile en junio próximo, en las jornadas decimotercera y decimocuarta de las eliminatorias sudamericanas del Mundial de Brasil 2014.

La nómina, presentada esta tarde por Azkargorta en la ciudad oriental de Santa Cruz, incluye a los delanteros Marcelo Martins Moreno, que acaba de pasar del Gremio al Flamengo brasileño, y Edivaldo Rojas, del Muang Tong United tailandés.

También han sido convocados los delanteros Gualberto Mojica, del FC Petrolul rumano, y Vicente Arze, del Esteghlal iraní, además del capitán de la selección boliviana, el zaguero Ronald Raldes, del Colón Santa Fe argentino, y el centrocampista del Atlas mexicano José Luis Chávez.

Los otros dos ´extranjeros´ llamados por Akargorta son el defensor Luis Gutiérrez, que milita en el Patronato de la segunda división argentina, y el portero Guillermo Viscarra, del Vitória brasileño.

A ellos se unen cinco jugadores del recientemente coronado campeón de la Liga boliviana, el Bolívar; otros cinco futbolistas del The Strongest, tres del Oriente Petrolero y el resto pertenece al Blooming, Wilstermann, Real Potosí, San José y Universitario.

Bolivia no ha tenido un buen desempeño en los dos últimos encuentros de las eliminatorias, pues sufrió una goleada a domicilio por 5-0 ante Colombia e igualó 1-1 con Argentina en La Paz.

También cayó estrepitosamente por 0-4 en un amistoso contra Brasil en abril pasado en Santa Cruz, por lo que los dos próximos partidos por las eliminatorias son vitales para limpiar el honor del equipo y seguir soñando con clasificar al Mundial 2014.

La concentración comienza el próximo lunes 27 jueves en La Paz, donde la Verde se preparará para recibir el 7 de junio próximo a Venezuela y cuatro días después visitará a Chile.

Tras presentar la nómina de convocados, Azkargorta anunció que se unió a su equipo técnico el exastro boliviano Marco Antonio ´El Diablo´ Etcheverry, que fue parte de la selección boliviana que logró la histórica clasificación del país al Mundial de Estados Unidos´94, bajo la conducción del vasco.

BUENOS AIRES -- Funcionarios y dirigentes de fútbol de la Argentina y Uruguay conformaron el miércoles la comisión binacional que postulará a ambos países para coorganizar el Mundial 2030, en concordancia con el centenario del primer torneo que se jugó en Montevideo.

Del encuentro en el Ministerio de Turismo argentino, en esta ciudad, participaron el titular de esa cartera, Enrique Mayer, el secretario de Deportes, Claudio Morresi y el titular de la AFA, Julio Grondona, por la Argentina.

Por Uruguay estuvieron Ernesto Irureta y Liliam Kechichian, del Ministerio de Turismo y Deportes, y el presidente de la Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF), Sebastián Bauzá.

Las dos asociaciones de fútbol propondrán la candidatura en el próximo congreso de FIFA en Isla Mauricio, en julio venidero.

"Esto demuestra la integración entre los dos países y el compromiso y la unión que tenemos para llevar adelante este proyecto. Es una excelente iniciativa porque Argentina y Uruguay se merecen realizar este Mundial en un tiempo democrático. Desgraciadamente, en 1978, Argentina realizó el Mundial bajo una dictadura sangrienta y con el Plan Cóndor sobrevolando el cielo de Sudamérica. Nos merecemos y queremos que nos den la oportunidad de que todo el mundo venga a nuestros países en este tiempo que vivimos", sostuvo Morresi.

South American qualifying for World Cup 2014 competition: Venezuela will test its ability in an exhibition game with El Salvador

The Venezuelan national football team will be put to the test this Wednesday in an exhibition game against El Salvador in the Andean city of Mérida (west), where the Venezuelans will be getting ready for the important games against Bolivia and Uruguay in the qualifying round for World Cup 2014.

After 12 of the 19 series of games in the South American qualifying round for the World Cup have been played, Venezuela is in fifth place, tied with Chile with 15 points, two ahead of Uruguay. They took six points from Bolivia.

For their part, the El Salvadoreans, who are now out of the World Cup qualifying round, arrived in Venezuela on Monday afternoon, where they are using the game to prepare for the Copa de Oro in CONCACAF, which will be played in July.

Real Garcilaso and Santa Fe size each other up for their meeting in the quarterfinals

The pulse-quickening game between Real Garcilaso and Santa Fe will be played at 5:45 p.m. local time in Garcilaso de la Vega stadium of Cuzco, at 3,400 meters above sea level

Garcilaso´s coach, Fredy García, recognized that the game against Santa Fe will be hard fought and complicated for both teams, since they already know each other from the games they played in the group phase of the competition.

For its part, Colombian team Santa Fe, which is directed by coach Wilson Gutiérrez, traveled to the city of Cuzco from the Peruvian capital on Tuesday. Their obvious goal is to continue advancing towards the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores tournament.

Santa Fe set off for Cuzco with the goalkeeper Camilo Vargas, midfielders Gerardo Bedoya, Wilder Medina, and Argentinians Omar Pérez and Jorge Emanuel Molina on the payroll.

"The game will not be easy in Cuzco, because we are meeting a team with good players that is playing with spirit", Gutiérrez told sports journalists.

Brazilian referee Leandro Vuaden will direct the game, with help from his countrymen Altemir Haussman and Kleber Lucio.

Fluminense hosts Olimpia in the first game of their two game series in Libertadores quarterfinals competition

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras - El entrenador de la selección de Honduras, el colombiano Luis Suárez, convocó a 27 jugadores para los partidos contra Costa Rica, Jamaica y EE.UU. por las eliminatorias del Mundial de Brasil 2014, que se disputarán en junio próximo, informó una fuente deportiva.

Entre los convocados por Suárez figuran 14 que juegan en el exterior, incluido Wilson Palacios, quien retorna a la selección "a pesar de no tener ni un minuto jugado este año con su equipo el Stoke City, de Inglaterra", indicó la Federación Nacional Autónoma de Fútbol de Honduras (Fenafuth) en un comunicado.

El equipo hondureño visitará a su similar de Costa Rica el 4 de junio próximo, mientras el 11 del mismo mes recibirá en Tegucigalpa a la de Jamaica y el 18 se enfrentará con Estados Unidos.

Once jugadores que actúan en Italia, Alemania, Bélgica y México fueron llamados por el seleccionador nacional.

El entrenador nacional José Pékerman quiere comenzar a trabajar de cara a los dos partidos por eliminatorias que se vienen, lo más rápido posible. Por eso ha hecho una primer convocatoria a once jugadores que actúan en ligas que ya culminaron, o en equipos que ya están eliminados en sus respectivos torneos.
