Abreu havde Rosarios eneste skud på mål i de 5 minutter han fik. De 2 damer i angrebet, Medina og Luna, fjollede bare rundt hele kampen.

Argentina Primera Division Wrap: San Lorenzo maintain perfect record

San Lorenzo have claimed an impressive 3-0 win away to Racing Club to move top of the Argentine Primera Division.

Martin Cauteruccio scored a stunning opener for the visitors, while Mauro Cetto and Hector Villalba added goals in the second half for San Lorenzo as they destroyed Racing.

The win took San Lorenzo to six points from the opening two rounds, ensuring they are the only club with a 100 per cent record from their first two matches, although Boca Juniors, Gimnasia La Plata and Newell´s Old Boys could all match that when they play their games in hand.

Juan Antonio Pizzi´s San Lorenzo side hit the front in the 20th minute at Racing´s Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Peron when Ignacio Piatti fed Cauteruccio at the top of the box and the 26-year-old Uruguayan striker took a touch inside his marker and thrashed the ball into the top corner.

San Lorenzo were on top throughout Friday´s match but had to wait until three minutes after the hour mark to double their lead with Emanuel Mas flicking a corner towards the back post, which allowed Cetto to head home over his opponent.

Villalba made it 3-0 seven minutes later, bursting onto Piatti´s pass into the left channel, pushing into the penalty area and beating Racing goalkeeper Sebastian Saja at his near post.

River Plate were the other winners on Friday, overcoming Rosario Central 1-0 despite having Jonathan Fabbro sent off with nine minutes remaining.

Federico Andrada scored the goal for River, nodding home a flicked corner as he was left unmarked at the back post.

San Lorenzo lead the Primera Division by two points from Atletico Rafaela, Estudiantes and Velez Sarsfield.

Rafaela came from behind to defeat Lanus 2-1, Gaston Gil Romero scored the only goal of the game in Estudiantes´ 1-0 triumph over All Boys, while Velez were held to a scoreless draw at home by Arsenal.

Correa se sumó a Gimnasia

LA PLATA -- El delantero colombiano José Erik Correa se sumó al plantel con el que Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata participa del campeonato Inicial de Primera División.

Correa llegó procedente del Chivas Estados Unidos, que participa de la Major League Soccer, a préstamo por un año, sin cargo y opción de compra, cuyo valor no fue estipulado.

Para acelerar la llegada del colombiano la directiva de Gimnasia rescindió el contrato del delantero uruguayo Héctor Acuña, quien no era tenido en cuenta por el entrenador Pedro Troglio.

Para esta temporada Gimnasia había incorporado a Iván Borghello, Maximiliano Coronel, Gastón Díaz, Leandro Corulo y Juan Pablo Rodríguez.

Ribair: "Tenemos que mejorar"

BUENOS AIRES -- Lejos de conformarse con la polémica victoria ante Belgrano, el volante central de Boca, Ribair Rodríguez, afirmó que tienen que "mejorar mucho la producción" porque cuentan con "potencial para jugar mejor".

"Somos conscientes de cómo jugamos (ante Belgrano) y sabemos que tenemos que mejorar", dijo el uruguayo.

Acerca del próximo debut de Fernando Gago, entre la cuarta y la quinta fecha y presuntamente en su misma posición, Rodríguez sostuvo que "uno se saca y se pone de los once. Eso lo va a medir tu rendimiento".

"Me incluyo entre los que estamos esperando que Fernando se ponga bien porque nos va a dar una gran mano -agregó-. Lo necesitamos. Estoy tranquilo porque mientras tenga las chances, uno se defiende el puesto".

Ribair señaló que "uno está a disposición del entrenador. Con Fernando, con Pichi (por Cristian Erbes), con Jesús (por Méndez), con (Federico) Bravo hay muy buena competencia. Es importante que el entrenador tenga tantas variantes porque lo vamos a necesitar".

Respecto del arbitraje de Carlos Maglio, notoriamente perjudicial para Belgrano, el volante contó que "en una jugada volvíamos corriendo juntos a mitad de la cancha, le digo ´qué partido difícil les tocó´ y me dice ´sí´. Fueron muchas jugadas rápidas para tomar decisiones".

"Me han tocado en el semestre pasado algunos partidos en que no nos han cobrado cosas legítimas -recordó-. Cuando llegás al vestuario y te dicen que lo vieron por tele, te choca un poco".

Por último, sobre las amenazas de muerte recibidas por Maglio, expresó: "Me sorprende porque me ha tocado jugar partidos malos, podés errar, es una persona como todos nosotros. Que pasen estas cosas a uno lo toca porque lo puede vivir uno mismo. Le puede pasar a cualquiera, pero él es el árbitro y está en el foco de todo".

Ramón: "El triunfo da tranquilidad"

BUENOS AIRES -- El entrenador de River Plate, Ramón Díaz, resaltó en la noche de este viernes que el triunfo por 1-0 ante Rosario Central les dará "tranquilidad para trabajar" en la semana y mejorar la producción para el próximo partido, que será cotra Godoy Cruz, en Mendoza.

"Ellos (Rosario Central) jugaron bien el primer tiempo porque nos dominaron. Pero en el segundo nos acomodamos y pudimos ganar. Este resultado nos da tranquilidad para trabajar", valoró el riojano tras el encuentro desarrollado en el estadio Monumental, correspondiente a la segunda fecha del Torneo Inicial.

Y comentó acerca del autor del gol: "El equipo necesitaba un poquito de empuje arriba y por eso metí a (Federico) Andrada. La gente está ansiosa, pero todavía no podemos concretar todo lo que hacemos".

Díaz aseguró además que cuando llegue la habilitación del delantero colombiano Teófilo Gutiérrez, River tendrá más poder de fuego en los últimos metros.

"Vamos a recuperar a ´Teo´ (Gutiérrez) para el próximo partido y es un jugador de experiencia que a los más jóvenes le va a venir bien", argumentó el conductor Millonario.

Eso sí, el adiestrador se lamentó por la jugada peligrosa que cometió Jonathan Fabbro, que le significó al enlace argentino-paraguayo la expulsión y obligó a River a afrontar casi un cuarto de hora con un futbilista menos.

"Lo de Fabbro es una lástima porque no fue con mala intención. Pero, el árbitro cobró y ya está", dijo inicialmente el técnico, quien se fue aplaudido por los simpatizantes de River, que pudieron desahogarse recién a once minutos del final.

De todos modos, ya en la conferencia de prensa, Ramón fue más terminante acerca de la tarjeta roja que lo privó de Fabbro, ese refuerzo que esperó durante meses.

"La expulsión de Fabbro me pareció apresurada", definió Ramón, como dando a entender que con una amarilla hubiera sido sufiente.

Sevilla oficializa fichaje de Cristóforo

SEVILLA -- El Sevilla FC ha hecho oficial esta noche el fichaje del centrocampista uruguayo Sebastián Cristóforo, cuya llegada a la capital andaluza está prevista para el sábado y que firmará un contrato por cinco temporadas en cuanto supere el preceptivo reconocimiento médico.

Sebastián Carlos Cristóforo, que dentro de dos semanas cumplirá 20 años, pertenece al Peñarol, que recibirá alrededor de tres millones de dólares por su transferencia, y se proclamó hace escasas fechas subcampeón del mundo juvenil con Uruguay.

Se trata del décimo fichaje que realiza este verano el Sevilla, cuyo entrenador, Unai Emery, manifestó el miércoles que la llegada de Cristóforo paliaría las probables del holandés Hedwiges Maduro y del italiano Tiberio Guarente, dos mediocentros con los que no cuenta y a los que el club busca una salida.

On 26 July, when asked about Shakhtar’s possible future transfers until the transfer window closure, Mircea Lucescu said that ‘Most likely, we won’t sign anyone. We will stick to the current squad.’ After two weeks, Shakhtar landed Atletico Mineiro’s starlet Bernard to break the Ukrainian transfer record by paying €25m.

Initially, Bernard, who was also linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Porto, was not planning to sign any documents before his trip from Brazil to Donetsk.
