Liga MX Wrap: Club America battle past Atlante, Veracruz stay top

Club America clinched their second win in three games as they came from behind to win 4-2 at Atlante on Saturday.

The defending Clausura champions, Miguel Herrera´s men fell behind in the 58th minute in Cancun, as Alberto Garcia put the hosts ahead just before the hour mark.

However, the visitors quickly turned things around Maza Rodriguez and Narciso Mina scoring two goals in three minutes to put Club America in command with 21 minutes to play.

Atlante - who are yet to win this term and sit bottom of the league - levelled things up again after 74 minutes through Diego Jimenez, but a penalty from striker Raul Jimenez and a late goal from Andres Andrade - who found the net less than a minute after Luis Gerardo Venegas had been sent off for the hosts - ensured victory for Club America.

Veracruz stay top, despite only managing a goalless draw with Puebla on Sunday, while second and third-place Morelia and Club Leon also played out a stalemate.

Toluca drew for the third time in five games as Edy Brambila equalised in the 90th minute to earn a 2-2 draw with Santos Laguna.

Javier Orozco and Oribe Peralta had inspired a second-half turnaround for Santos after Carlos Esquivel had put Toluca ahead, but Brambila struck in the dying embers to deny the visitors all three points.

Atlas were another team to benefit from a late equaliser, attacker Vicente Vuoso scoring in the third minute of stoppage time a 1-1 draw with Pachuca after Fernando Cavenaghi had opened the scoring just after the hour.

A last-minute penalty from veteran Carlos Ochoa gave a Chiapas a 1-1 draw in Queretaro. The forward stepped up to convert from 12 yards after Diego de la Torre had been sent off for a handball inside the penalty area. Esteban Paredes had scored the hosts’ goal in the 27th minute.

Last year´s Clausura finalists Cruz Azul eased to a 3-1 over Guadalajara.

Joao Rojas put Guillermo Vazquez´s men in front 10 minutes before the interval, before Rafael Marquez Lugo levelled from the spot five minutes into the second half.

It was Cruz Azul who would eventually come through, thanks to a second from Rojas and a Jeronimo Amione effort, ensuring the points for the hosts.

Tigres UANL were also 3-1 winners against Monterrey on Sunday, Alan Pulido netting a double and captain Lucas Lobos also finding the net for Ricardo Ferretti´s charges.

Humberto Suazo was the only scorer for Monterrey, who had Bernardo Hernandez dismissed seven mintues from time.

Elsewhere, Tijuana comfortably overcame Pumas UNAM 2-0. Fidel Martinez and Raul Enriquez got the ghoals at the Estadio Caliente as the hosts brushed aside the 10-man Pumas, whose hopes were effectively ended when Candido Ramirez was sent off midway through the second half for his second bookable offence.

Costa Rica Primera Division Wrap: Deportivo Saprissa´s Escoe impresses

Deportivo Saprissa began the Costa Rica Primera Division in style with a 4-2 home triumph against Perez Zeledon.

It was not all smooth sailing for Saprissa as Jorge Gatgens put Perez ahead after only six minutes before Marlon Escoe equalised in the 26th minute.

Brunete Hay briefly restored Perez´s lead just after half-time before Escoe decided to stamp his presence on the contest.

Escoe, a Costa Rica U20 international, tore the game apart with goals in the 53rd and 62nd minutes to complete a stunning hat-trick.

Fellow striker Ariel Rodriguez rounded off the win in stoppage time ensuring that Saprissa will end the weekend on top of the table.

Daniel Quiros scored a brace as Puntarenas coasted to a 3-1 victory at home against 10-man Belen Siglo XXI.

Quiros had his two goals by the 18-minute mark before Ariel Santana pulled a goal back on 34 minutes.

Belen brought on Cristian Carrillo in the 54th minute but the attacker managed to get himself a straight red only eight minutes later.

Puntarenas managed to make the advantage count in the 73rd minute through Daniel Colindres and see out the match comfortably.

A goal in each half helped Santos de Guapiles to a 2-0 result against Limon while Carmelita came from a goal behind to defeat Alajuelense 2-1.

A goal to each side in the first half saw Herediano and Uruguay draw 1-1 and there was a goalless draw between Cartagines and UCR.

Guatemala - Runde 2

Comunicaciones og Suchitepequez er de eneste hold med maksimum point efter 2 runder af apertura´en Comunicaciones vandt 1-0 over Iztapa mens los venados vandt med samme cifre ude over Coatepeque på Francisco Sandoval´s mål kort før pausen.

Mictlan hentede overraskende 1-1 hos Malacateco på mål af colombianske Carlos Asprilla og storspil af Målmand Ronald Zavala.

Storspil af målmanden Santiago Morandi sikrede ligeledes 1 point for Deportivo Municipal i udekampen mod Xelajú. Uruguayaneren havde flere fremragende redninger og blev blot passeret enkelt gang ved Israel Silva. 1-1 blev det ved Marco Ciani´s frisparksscoring.

Endelig besejrede Marquense - Halcones med 4-1, Jonny Brown (2) Kevin Norales og Jonathan Pérez stod for målene for Los Leones


El Salvador - Runde 2

Derby-dag i 2 runde, hvor Alianza overtager førstepladsen alene efter 2-0 sejr i Clasico´en over Aguila på mål af Sean Fraser og Nelson Bonilla.

Lidt overraskende bød første runde på ingen sejre til de tradtionelle 4 storklubber. Nederlag til Real España på hele 0-3 til Real Sociedad (Diego Reyes, Rony Martinez, José Williams),Nederlag til los M´s Motagua 0-1 til Deportes Savio og Victoria 2-0 over Marathon mens Olimpia måtte nøjes med 1-1 hjemme mod Platense.

Panama

Luis Rentería sikrede Tauro en 1-0 sejr ude over Plaza Amador i El Clasico del Pueblo og en førsteplads i rækken. Los Toros har 8 point, mens de nærmeste forfølgere , Independiente, San Francico, Alianza og Chepo alle har 7.

I Rundens andre kampe slog Chepo Independiente med 2-1 på sene mål af Bernardo Palma og Ismael Menal, Alianza tabte hjemme til Rio Abajo med 2-0, Mens San Francisco vandt 3-0 over mestrene fra San Miguelito og Chorrillo FC og Arabe UNIDOs indbyrdes opgør endte 1-1.

Venezuela Primera Division Wrap: Olivera stars for Llaneros de Guanare

Pablo Olivera hit a hat-trick as Carabobo smashed Llaneros de Guanare 4-0 on the opening weekend of the Venezuela Primera Division.

The Uruguayan scored the opener on 14 minutes before doubling Carabobo´s advantage 10 minutes before half-time.

Olivera completed his treble from the spot in the 67th minute and substitute Rafael Garcia capped off the win on 82 minutes.

There was another 4-0 result as Caracas comfortably accounted for 10-man Trujillanos.

The clash was goalless just before half-time but a goal from Ricardo Andreutti on 44 minutes and defender Roberto Tucker´s spot-kick in first-half stoppage time established a healthy advantage for Caracas.

Tucker completed his brace on 65 minutes before Andres Sanchez rounded off the crushing victory four minutes later.

Atletico El Vigia recovered from being a goal behind to thump Deportivo Lara 4-1.

Jose Torrealba delighted his travelling support by scoring for Lara in the 25th minute, but Jerry Flores pulled a goal back before half-time to ensure the game was tied at the break.

A second-half brace within seven minutes from Jose Carrasquel sent Vigia on their way before Flores made it two for himself with a 62nd-minute strike.

Atletico Venezuela completed an extraordinary comeback to win 3-2 at home against Tucanes.

After early goals from Juan Garcia and Raul Vallona, Tucanes thought they were on their way to the three points before a Hector Perez double levelled the contest.

But Diego Menghi clinched the remarkable victory for Atletico Venezuela with a strike six minutes from time.

In other results, Estudiantes de Merida enjoyed a 3-2 victory at Aragua, Deportivo Tachira defeated Deportivo La Guaira 3-1 and Zamora achieved a 2-0 result against Yaracuyanos.

Deportivo Anzoategui won 1-0 against Deportivo Petare and Mineros de Guayana shaded Zulia 1-0.

Paraguay Division Profesional Wrap: Olimpia thrash Deportivo Capiata

Olimpia handed Deportivo Capiata their first loss of the Paraguay Division Profesional season as they dominated in a 4-0 trouncing.

Juan Salgueiro opened the scoring in the sixth minute before he doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half.

The points were effectively sealed in the 75th minute when Nelson Benitez found the net and Dante Lopez topped off the victory just before stoppage time.

Cerro Porteno kept their three-game unbeaten start alive with a 2-1 triumph at Rubio Nu despite conceding an early goal.

Francisco Vera sent the Rubio fans wild in the third minute before Guillermo Beltran tied the game on 33 minutes.

But Angel Romero secured the three points for Cerro Porteno with his goal in the 66th minute.

Brian Montenegro ensured Libertad also stayed unbeaten as his 18th-minute effort won the contest against Sportivo Luqueno.

General Diaz made it three draws from three games with a goalless draw against Nacional Asuncion.

In other results, Cerro Porteno PF ended their losing streak with a 2-0 win at home against Deportivo Carapegua while two goals in three minutes helped Sol de America to a 2-0 victory over Guarani.

Chile Primera Division Wrap: Universidad Catolica stay top despite draw

Universidad Catolica remain on top of the Chile Primera Division despite slipping to a 1-1 draw against Universidad Concepcion.

Half-time substitute Milovan Mirosevic´s 52nd-minute goal looked to have handed Catolica their third straight win to open the season before Concepcion´s Diego Ruiz earned Martin Lasarte´s men a point on 86 minutes.

It was the first goal Catolica had conceded of the campaign.

Giants Colo Colo remain winless after they snatched a 1-1 result as Antofagasta.

After a scoreless first half, Cristian Canio put Antofagasta ahead after 64 minutes before Colo Colo substitute Emiliano Vecchio struck the equaliser seven minutes from time.

An Angel Rojas brace powered Everton to a 3-1 victory against Rangers.

Esteban Ciacchieri´s goal for Rangers on 52 minutes cancelled out Nicolas Penailillo´s sixth-minute opener with the game deadlocked until late in the second half.

Rojas edged Everton in front in the 73rd minute before he sealed the victory in the second minute of stoppage time.

A late winner from Cristian Bogado secured Deportes Iquique a 2-1 win over Union Espanola.

Iquique´s Jonathan Rebolledo´s 28th-minute goal secured a lead before Sebastian Jaime levelled 12 minutes later.

But Bogado popped up three minutes before time to secure the victory after Union´s Gustavo Canales had been sent off late in the first half.

In other results, Universidad Chile swept aside Cobresal 3-0, Union La Calera won 2-1 against Nublense while Palestino and the Santiago Wanderers fought out a 2-2 draw.

Audax Italiano and O´Higgins shared the points in a 1-1 result and Huachipato and Cobreloa played out a goalless draw.
