Internacional coach Dunga has hit out at Botafogo´s ball boys after their 3-3 draw at the Estadio Olimpico on Thursday.
Brazilian defender Fabricio netted in the fourth minute of injury-time in Rio de Janeiro to snatch a draw for Dunga’s side.
But the former Seleção boss was not impressed with the ball boys as he felt they went missing in the closing stages as his side were pushing for an equaliser.
"The ball boys´ job is to put the ball on the ground and not play for the home team," Dunga is quoted as saying by Reuters.
"I don´t know who controls them but they are part of the spectacle. At the end of the match the ball boys disappeared. Who is responsible for that? I don´t know. <---- hahaha.
"I spoke to the fourth official and he said he would take action - but he didn´t."

How Scolari wants to erase ´early-trophy´ cockiness out of Selecao

Luiz Felipe Scolari watched Brazil´s winning streak end Wednesday in Switzerland, but the Selecao manager may not be that unhappy about the result.
It was just a couple minutes after entering the Maracana Stadium dressing room on June 30 that Luiz Felipe Scolari assembled his players and delivered a heartfelt thank-you speech for what they had just done for his project of assembling a squad that could bring Brazil´s sixth World Cup title next year.
The same lines, though, brought also the warning that Neymar and Co. had actually created a problem for themselves with their masterclass performance against Spain in a 3-0 victory to win the Confederations Cup final. After all, the test event is much more noted for cursing teams than blessing them: since its creation in 1997, no champion has taken the main prize down the line a year later.
Brazilians should know that better than anybody else, since the Selecao managed to win the Confederations Cup in 1997, 2005 and 2009 without delivering when it mattered. The 2005 event even became a case study on how to peak early and then derail brilliantly a year later, after the team that steamrolled Argentina the final in Frankfurt looked lethargic at the main stage.
True, FIFA´s continental champions jamboree lacks the punch and the extended talent pool of the World Cup. But as Brazil did not experience traumatic injuries or retirements after those Confederations Cup victories, is it quite tempting to think that rehearsing a lap of honour with a trophy in a World Cup can actually make teams overdose on confidence.
That technical director Carlos Alberto Parreira was summoned to do round after round of interviews last month to talk about the dangers of reading too much into this summer´s win was a mix of PR and psychological move. Parreira was in charge of the Selecao from 2003 to 2006 and did have a thing or to say. "It is quite important that nobody, either the player or the fans, think we have done anything either than win a tournament playing well and showing progress toward a much-bigger goal. Anything else and we can really be in trouble," said the man who saw Ronaldinho turn from world-beater in 2005 to a huge pile of choke in 2006.
No surprise at all that the "let´s put the past behind" discourse checked in at the Basel Hilton with the Selecao this week before the shocking 1-0 loss to Switzerland Wednesday. Scolari must have nodded with approval on reading stories that his players, as Portuguese saying goes, "put on the sandals of humility."
Big Phil made sure to reinforce the message by publicly demanding that two of his stalwarts, goalkeeper Julio Cesar and midfielder Luiz Gustavo, both characters in the transfer window, sorted out their lives. "Nobody here will be called up if they don´t deserve it," the manager said during a press conference on the eve of Wednesday´s match.
He actually went further by dropping Cesar for the loss to Ottmar Hitzfeld´s team, where replacement Jefferson showed reflexes and nerves in the same proportion. However, the calm showed by Scolari in this post-match assessment makes one suspect that the manager was somehow relieved that his team´s 11-match unbeaten streak ended, even if inside he felt like punching Dani Alves for scoring a silly own-goal after trying to show-boat a clearance. His boys were outplayed for most of the game by a team unlikely to set the world alight next year.
"The Confederations Cup title was important mainly for the team to bring supporters back to their side," Scolari said. "Of course we were all pleased by what happened and with the way we played. But we still have a long way to be at the same level than some of the teams that are still ahead of us. They´re just not so far ahead anymore, but we need to show people that what happened in June was a project, not just two good weeks of football."
One thing is certain. Scolari and Parreira are big believers in the benefits of top-level European football to Brazilian players. Although Scolari did take a squad to Japan and South Korea in 2002 where "domestic" players outnumbered "foreigners", it is more than likely his 2014 team will be the opposite.
Since the Confederations Cup, Neymar, Paulinho and Fernando have gone abroad, and the squad called up for Basel had "foreigners" outnumbered "domestics" 16-4. They are the guys who will feel week in and week out what´s going on at the main stage.
It´s a joy the Selecao have got rid of the hubristic atmosphere it had been breathing since 2010 -- nobody likes cocky dudes.

Newell´s, con cambios ante Belgrano
ROSARIO -- Newell´s Old Boys se apresta a recibir a Belgrano de Córdoba el domingo por la tercera fecha del Torneo Inicial con la inclusión del atacante David Trezeguet por primera vez entre los concentrados y la confirmación de tres variantes en el equipo titular.
Marcos Cáceres y Maximiliano Rodríguez serán de la partida ante el Pirata desde las 16, luego de la victoria del martes pasado ante Boca Juniors 3-2 en La Bombonera, en el partido postergado de la primera fecha.
En el encuentro, que marcará la presentación oficial de Alfredo Berti ante el público rojinegro, Cáceres, recuperado de una molestia muscular, ocupará el lugar de Cristian Díaz.
Mientras, habrá cambio de posiciones en el mediocampo y en ataque, con la reaparición de Maximiliano Rodríguez como una de las piezas en la delantera.

Palermo: "Hay que respetar a River"
MENDOZA -- El director técnico de Godoy Cruz, Martín Palermo, aseguró que "siempre hay que respetar a River como equipo y como rival", de cara al partido del domingo ante el club de Núñez, en tanto consideró que el principal objetivo es mantener a su equipo "en primera división".
Para el DT del Tomba, los jugadores millonarios "siempre tienen la obligación de ser protagonistas en todas las canchas", y afirmó que cuando un jugador enfrenta a un equipo grande "siempre está motivado, porque tiene mayor trascendencia y otro valor enfrentar a los equipos grandes".
En declaraciones formuladas antes de la práctica matutina del plantel "bodeguero" en su estadio Feliciano Gambarte, Palermo advirtió sin embargo que en la actualidad "un equipo ya no gana un partido con la camiseta y el nivel está muy parejo".
El entrenador consideró que "el semestre pasado fue bueno para nosotros, fue muy importante hacer 29 puntos, con el condicionamiento de que sabíamos que estábamos en una situación complicada por el descenso".
"Esos buenos resultados hicieron que el equipo se fuera alejando de esa zona que tanto preocupa a los equipos, lo que permitió que fuéramos apuntando a otro objetivo y en una parte del torneo, estuvimos en la pelea en los primeros puestos", agregó el histórico goleador de Boca Juniors.

"Uno es esclavo de los resultados"
BUENOS AIRES -- El presidente de Racing Club, Gastón Cogorno, afirmó que los dirigentes del fútbol argentino son "presos" de los resultados, en referencia a la continuidad del entrenador Luis Zubeldía, cuestionado por los hinchas del club de Avellaneda por los bajos rendimientos y las últimas derrotas.
"Uno es preso de los resultados. Nosotros trabajamos para buenos resultados a mediano y largo plazo", señaló Cogorno.
En ese sentido, el titular de Racing apuntó que iniciaron la temporada con "un proyecto", en este caso la renovación del contrato de Zubeldía, y aguarda que "el sistema" le otorgue "el tiempo necesario" para revertir el presente futbolístico de su equipo.
Racing Club acumula un punto en el torneo Inicial (1-1 vs. Colón de visitante en primera fecha, y 0-3 Vs. San Lorenzo en la segunda jornada), y perdió 2-1 el partido de ida de la segunda fase de la Copa Sudamericana ante Lanús, también como local.
De todas maneras, Cogorno expresó su optimismo de cara a la revancha ante el equipo Granate: "Racing puede dar vuelta el partido en cancha de Lanús, la llave está abierta".
El plantel de Racing se entrenó con vistas al cotejo del domingo ante Tigre, por la tercera fecha del torneo Inicial, que se jugará en el estadio José Dellagiovanna de la localidad bonaerense de Victoria.
Zubeldía llevó adelante un ensayo de fútbol que tuvo una duración de una hora y 30 minutos, donde el plantel se dividió en dos grupos: los que jugaron el miércoles ante Lanús realizaron ejercicios de mantenimiento de balón y el tradicional ´loco´ en el centro del campo.
El resto del plantel efectuó 35 minutos de fútbol formal ante un combinado de juveniles.
Una vez finalizada la práctica, el entrenador dio la lista de 21 jugadores convocados para el partido ante Tigre, que se compone de la siguiente manera: Rodrigo Battaglia, Matías Cahais, Ricardo Centurión, Claudio Corvalán, Rodrigo De Paul, José Gómez, Gabriel Hauche, Nelson Ibáñez, Luis Ibáñez y Matías Martínez.
También figuran Leonardo Migliónico, Fernando Ortiz, Agustín Pelletieri, Iván Pillud, Mario Regueiro, Leonardo Rolheiser, Sebastián Saja, Esteban Saveljich, Luciano Vietto, Diego Villar y Valentín Viola.

BUENOS AIRES -- El presidente de Racing Club, Gastón Cogorno, afirmó que los dirigentes del fútbol argentino son "presos" de los resultados, en referencia a la continuidad del entrenador Luis Zubeldía, cuestionado por los hinchas del club de Avellaneda por los bajos rendimientos y las últimas derrotas.
"Uno es preso de los resultados. Nosotros trabajamos para buenos resultados a mediano y largo plazo", señaló Cogorno.
En ese sentido, el titular de Racing apuntó que iniciaron la temporada con "un proyecto", en este caso la renovación del contrato de Zubeldía, y aguarda que "el sistema" le otorgue "el tiempo necesario" para revertir el presente futbolístico de su equipo.
Racing Club acumula un punto en el torneo Inicial (1-1 vs. Colón de visitante en primera fecha, y 0-3 Vs. San Lorenzo en la segunda jornada), y perdió 2-1 el partido de ida de la segunda fase de la Copa Sudamericana ante Lanús, también como local.
De todas maneras, Cogorno expresó su optimismo de cara a la revancha ante el equipo Granate: "Racing puede dar vuelta el partido en cancha de Lanús, la llave está abierta".
El plantel de Racing se entrenó con vistas al cotejo del domingo ante Tigre, por la tercera fecha del torneo Inicial, que se jugará en el estadio José Dellagiovanna de la localidad bonaerense de Victoria.
Zubeldía llevó adelante un ensayo de fútbol que tuvo una duración de una hora y 30 minutos, donde el plantel se dividió en dos grupos: los que jugaron el miércoles ante Lanús realizaron ejercicios de mantenimiento de balón y el tradicional ´loco´ en el centro del campo.
El resto del plantel efectuó 35 minutos de fútbol formal ante un combinado de juveniles.
Una vez finalizada la práctica, el entrenador dio la lista de 21 jugadores convocados para el partido ante Tigre, que se compone de la siguiente manera: Rodrigo Battaglia, Matías Cahais, Ricardo Centurión, Claudio Corvalán, Rodrigo De Paul, José Gómez, Gabriel Hauche, Nelson Ibáñez, Luis Ibáñez y Matías Martínez.
También figuran Leonardo Migliónico, Fernando Ortiz, Agustín Pelletieri, Iván Pillud, Mario Regueiro, Leonardo Rolheiser, Sebastián Saja, Esteban Saveljich, Luciano Vietto, Diego Villar y Valentín Viola.
El ex DT de Lanús aseguró que Vietto ingresará por Hauche, pero aguardará para confirmar la alineación hasta último momento porque mantiene dudas en varios puestos: Ortiz o Migliónico en la zaga central, Corvalán o Ibáñez en el lateral izquierdo, Villar o Battaglia en la mitad de cancha y Regueiro, De Paul o Centurión para los dos puestos de volantes ofensivos.
En tanto, Bruno Zuculini estuvo en la sala de kinesiología del club para recuperarse de un desgarro de cinco milímetros en el isquiotibial izquierdo, mientras que Centurión se entrenó de manera diferenciada junto a Luciano Aued y el volante Mauro Camoranesi realizó trabajos físicos en el gimnasio.

Boyero: "A S. Lorenzo le ganamos 3-0"
BUENOS AIRES -- El delantero de Argentinos Juniors Hernán Boyero vaticinó que su equipo va a ganarle el domingo a San Lorenzo "3 a 0" y él va a convertir "dos goles".
"A San Lorenzo le vamos a ganar 3 a 0 y yo voy a hacer dos goles", aventuró Boyero en diálogo con el programa radial "Deportivo Télam".
"San Lorenzo está en ascenso, pero nosotros llegamos bien y venimos de ganar (2 a 0 a Colón). Por eso estoy convencido de que nos va a ir bien y tendremos un buen resultado", remarcó.
Boyero sostuvo que esas son sus "ilusiones" respecto del juego con San Lorenzo y que en la previa "no se habló en el grupo de cuestiones personales", en referencia al pasado del técnico Ricardo Caruso Lombardi y el arquero Pablo Migliore en el equipo de Boedo.
"Esos temas fortalecen o debilitan a los protagonistas, según el caso. Caruso Lombardi me gusta por su manera de trabajar. Si te ve bien, te manda para adentro de la cancha, y eso es muy bueno porque todos tienen sus posibilidades", destacó.
"Por mis características como jugador me gusta trabajar los partidos, buscar por afuera y por adentro. Es que a pesar de mi buena estatura (1,93 metros) no soy ningún rústico y tengo buena relación con la pelota", describió.
El cordobés de 33 años, que surgió a la consideración pública en Instituto, se nacionalizó boliviano durante su paso por Blooming "porque tenía expectativas de jugar en el seleccionado de ese país. Pero el trámite demoró tanto que me perdí la oportunidad".
"Gustavo Quinteros (argentino también nacionalizado boliviano, que dirigió al seleccionado de ese país) fue quién me llevó a Blooming (2005), donde tuve oportunidad de salir campeón y jugar torneos internacionales", recordó.
"Y casualmente otro Quinteros, Juan, un carnicero de mi pueblo, fue el que me dio mis cinco minutos de fama, cuando se supo que por cada gol que hacía en Instituto me regalaba dos kilos de falda", expresó entre risas.
Por eso Boyero insistió en eso de los "dos goles contra San Lorenzo. Si los hago me voy a comer cuatro kilos de falda", anticipó el atacante que viene de convertirle a Colón en la segunda fecha del torneo Inicial.

CONCACAF Retro: Club America wins first two international titles in 1978
Mexico´s Club América became the first confederation side to earn the "double" in a single year as it won the delayed 1977 CONCACAF Champions´ Cup and then captured the Interamerican Cup in 1978.
After winning seven overall Mexican league championships (amateur - four; professional - three), Club América, under the direction of Raul Cardenas, captured its first CONCACAF Champions´ Cup title in its inaugural appearance by defeating host SV Robinhood of Surinam in the 1977 final series at Paramaribo´s National Stadium.
In the first leg on Jan. 15, 1978, a second-half goal from Luis Alberto Da Costa (nicknamed "Luisinho") lifted the Águilas to a 1-0 victory over the Geen Strijd, Geen Kroon.
Three days later, in the second match, Errol Emanuelson thrust SV Robinhood into the lead.Hugo Kiese, however, equalized midway through the second half.
The game would end 1-1, a result that clinched the CONCACAF championship for Club América.
"It was absolutely important for us, as it was a bit of a challenge for us to travel for the first game so it was significantly important for us to become the confederation´s champion," remembered Kiese, a native of Paraguay, who later became a Mexican citizen.
The Águilas´ road to CONCACAF glory started by winning the 1975-76 Mexican league championship and qualifying for the Champions´ Cup.They progressed to the finals on two forfeits after scheduled opponents New York Inter-Giuliana of USA (April 17, 1977) and Costa Rica´s Deportivo Saprissa (December 10, 1977) withdrew from the event.
SV Robinhood, which finished as runner-up at the confederation tournament a year earlier, faced a tougher task in advancing to its third Champions´ Cup final.After collecting its 10th Surinamese league title in 1976, the Geen Strijd, Geen Kroon eliminated Guyana´s YMCA (Preliminary Round), SV Voorwaarts of Surinam (First Round), Haiti´s Violette AC (Second Round) and TECSA of Trinidad & Tobago (Third Round) to set-up a series with Club América.
"That same team (SV Robinhood) had made it to other semifinals and were a good squad that functioned well," said Kiese, who was a member of the CONCACAF Executive Committee from 1998-2003."You could see from the results we (Club América) had against them, 1-0 and 1-1, that they were even and tough matches."
With the confederation crown under its belt, Club América went on to compete for the Interamerican Cup (Copa Interamericana) against CA Boca Juniors of Argentina, the winner of South America´s Copa Libertadores.
After losing the first-leg 3-0 in Buenos Aires, Argentina (March 28, 1978), the Águilas won the return match (April 12, 1978) 1-0 at Mexico City´s Estadio Azteca.Kiese was the hero once again, scoring the 75th minute game-winner.
"It was something extremely meaningful for us," Kiese related."We had lost the first game in Buenos Aires, so we had a great responsibility at home and Boca Juniors is a well known club.
"We knew we had to win and that´s what we did in the second game with a goal I scored."
With the series even at one win apiece, a third game between the two champions was scheduled for two days later, also at the Azteca.
Club America triumphed in that decisive match 2-1 after extra time.Carlos Reinoso netted the game-winner via a last second free kick.
"We won the last game on the last play with a goal by Reinoso," added Kiese. "For us, winning the Interamericana was something very unique and very important for Club America, for Mexico and for CONCACAF, as it was the sort of news that traveled the world."
