I får lige lidt i samme boldgade.

Amunt!

Liga MX Apertura 2012 Team by Team Analysis – C.F. Pachuca

C.F. Pachuca was one of the stronger and most regular teams in the Clausura 2012 by finishing in 6th place of the regular season standings with 28 points. Although they had a fair offense with 24 goals and a good defense with 17 goals against, Pachuca was a team that controlled the ball with a balanced playing style under then coach Efrain Flores. Pachuca was a team that to some made the playoffs by surprise because they did not have many big-name players and nonetheless their playoff run was short-lived as they lost to Club America in the first round.

To prepare for the Apertura 2012 of the new Liga MX, Pachuca is the team that made the most notorious headlines by signing several top caliber players and coach. The first change was to remove coach Efrain Flores and replace him by outspoken Hugo Sanchez. Although Hugo Sanchez has had up and downs in his managerial career, he is a big name and also one of the most prestigious of coaches in the Mexican league. With Hugo Sanchez, many top players decided to play for Pachuca like Nery Castillo, Raul Tamudo, Paulo Da Silva, Alberto Medina, and Nestor Calderon. The first four players mentioned come directly from European teams while the last two were regulars in Chivas and Toluca respectively. These signings made Pachuca into the team to watch and the team to fear. Its defense was only hurt by the absence of Javier Mustafa but the incorporation of Paulo Da Silva is an upgrade.

Pachuca declares itself as “Mexico’s team”, and nonetheless with an extraordinarily talented squad they are. This squad is now amongst the most talented in the Americas with an offense that will have the privilege to put some of its forwards in the bench. Pachuca will have to prove it has the ability to score many goals but it will have to play strong enough to defeat squads that have been playing together for several seasons like Monterrey or Santos Laguna. This team will be a title contender while its only weakness will be to learn how to play as a balanced team with its many new player incorporations.

Coach: Hugo Sanchez

Liga MX Apertura 2012 Team by Team Analysis – Monarcas Morelia

In the Apertura 2012, Monarcas Morelia had a good season where they ended in fourth place of the table standings with 31 points just below Santos Laguna, Monterrey, and Club America. The team which was well coached by Tomas Boy, and whose offense had a good 25 goals, was led by strikers Miguel Sabah and Rafael Marquez Lugo. Once in the playoffs their run for the title was short-lived as they lost against Tigres in the first round; however, the Apertura 2012 was a good season for a team which has been one of the most consistent in the Mexican league in recent years.

Many changes were made to Monarcas before the start of the Apertura 2012 of the new Liga MX. First, after many good seasons with the team, coach Tomas Boy left his position which was replaced by Ruben Omar Romano who is returning to the team where he has had the most coaching success. Under Romano, Morelia had a busy offseason, mostly by selling a large amount of their players like Gerardo Lugo, Rafael Marquez Lugo, Adrian Aldrete, Jaime Lozano, and Luis Alonso Sandoval. All of the players mentioned were regular starters with Morelia which shows that the club is heading into a new direction to gain younger blood. With many important players leaving, Monarcas signed Ecuadorian star Jefferson Montero, Carlos Adrian Morales, and Antonio Pedroza among others. Unfortunately, the quality of the players that arrived does not match the quality of the players that left, therefore Morelia will not be able to match the success of the Apertura 2012 considering other top teams signed a large number of top players.

Morelia will play a new style of soccer under Ruben Omar Romano. Its offense will be led by Jefferson Montero, Joao Rojas and Miguel Sabah, which shows it will be a threat while the defense will remain almost the same. The issue with Morelia is its central midfield as the departure of Gerardo Lugo is a downgrade. This team will compete for big teams in the Clausura 2012, and could gain a playoffs spot, but it will gain less points than last season and nonetheless it is not a favorite to win the title.

Coach: Ruben Omar Romano

Players In: Jefferson Montero, Carlos Adrian Morales, Carlos Ochoa, Antonio Pedroza, Fernando Navarro, Rodrigo Salinas, Francisco Torres, Jose Antonio Olvera

Players Out: Rafael Marquez Lugo, Jorge Gastelum, Luis Alonso Sandoval, Edison Toloza, Adrian Aldrete, Gerardo Lugo, Jaime Lozano, Marvin Cabrera

Players to Watch: Jefferson Montero

Liga MX Apertura 2012 Team by Team Analysis – C.F. Monterrey

Throughout the first semester of 2012, Monterrey played one of the best soccer in Mexico. Having an over-talented squad with star players like Humberto Suazo, Aldo De Nigris, and Angel Reyna, the regiomontanos conquered the CONCACAF Champions league by beating another Mexican power Santos Laguna. At that point Monterrey let everyone know that they were still a threat in the league and evidently they were by classifying to the playoffs as second in the table standings with 32 points, just four below Santos Laguna. In the playoffs Monterrey beat Xolos and Club America but lost the final against—once again—Santos Laguna, being unable to end a majestic semester.

Although Monterrey were not able to defeat a better Santos, they had an amazing season which they hope will translate into the Apertura 2012 of the new Liga MX. The rayados did not make any player signings other than Edgar Solis which will go unnoticed, but they did transfer back-up forward Othoniel Arce and veteran captain Luis Perez. There were no signings unlike all the other top teams, however, coach Victor Manuel Vucetich will make an intelligent gamble with what he has as there is more than enough talent to try to repeat what he made in the first semester.

Monterrey is a strong squad that has played together for several years. With no new players, this team will be led by one of the best forward duos with De Nigris and Suazo, while Reyna and Cesar Delgado will push the attacking midfield. This team is one of the favorites to win the Liga MX, and see them to repeat something similar to the Clausura 2012.

Coach: Victor Manuel Vucetich

Players In: Edgar Solis

Players Out: Luis Perez, Othoniel Arce, Marvin Piñon, Brayan Martinez

Players to Watch: Humberto Suazo, Aldo De Nigris, Cesar Delgado

Prospect Players: Hiram Mier

Possible Lineup: Jonathan Orozco, Severo Meza, Jose Maria Basanta, Hiram Mier, Darvin Chavez, Jesus Zavala, Walter Ayovi, Angel Reyna, Cesar Delgado, Aldo De Nigris, Humberto Suazo
