Sigue la interna en Racing: aparecieron pintadas contra el vicepresidente Molina

Tras los mensajes contra Cogorno que se vieron el el domingo, hoy los insultos fueron para el segundo responsable del club: "Andate, Molina, puto ortiva golpista", decía

La interna de la dirigencia de Racing comenzó a transitar los caminos de la incertidumbre. Luego de las pintadas contra el presidente del Club, Gastón Cogorno, hoy apareció un duro mensaje para el vicepresidente, Rodolfo Molina.

"Andate Molina puto ortiva golpista (sic)", decía el mensaje que se podía leer en una de las paredes del estacionamiento del Cilindro de Avellaneda, ubicado sobre la calle Colón, casi esquina Italia, justo al lado de una casa tomada que, según la Justicia, le pertenece club. Así, el conflicto entre los dos máximos dirigentes del club vuelve a sumar un nuevo capítulo.

La interna estalló la semana pasada, cuando Molina pidió en Comisión Directiva la renuncia de dos personas muy cercanas al presidente: Fabián Ayala, máganer del equipo, y Leandro Hevia, secretario. El presidente quedó debilitado. Su único aliado es el secretario general del club, Cristian Devia, es el único aliado del máximo dirigente. La posibilidad de dar un paso al costado toma fuerza en las consideraciones de Cogorno. Si esto sucede, el vicepresidente habría cumplido su objetivo: quedarse con el mando de Racing.

El sábado, luego de la derrota ante Newell´s, pintaron sobre una de las paredes del pasaje Corbata, por donde ingresan los jugadores y empleados del club cuando no hay partido, un claro mensaje para el presidente: "Chau, Cogorno".

Racing transita por los caminos de la incertidumbre. La suerte parece estar echada.

"Muchos jugadores terminamos muy cansados", afirmo Botinelli

El defensor de River Plate afirmó que tanto él como sus compañeros finalizaron "muy cansados" tras la victoria 1-0 del domingo ante All Boys por la 8va. fecha del torneo Inicial.

"Muchos jugadores terminamos muy cansados. All Boys planteó el partido muy bien desde lo físico y nos costó bastante", expresó Bottinelli, titular ante All Boys, en diálogo con radio La Red.

River Plate, que acumula 11 unidades en el torneo Inicial y quedó a 6 del líder Newell`s Old Boys, disputó el jueves pasado en Loja, Ecuador, el partido de ida de los octavos de final de Copa Sudamericana, en la derrota 2-1 ante Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Loja.

En caso de obtener un resultado favorable en la revancha ante el equipo ecuatoriano, el próximo jueves en el estadio Monumental, River afrontará los cuartos de final del certamen continental (el 23 de octubre y 11 de noviembre) y la 9na. y 10ma. fecha del torneo Inicial ante Lanús y Boca Juniors, respectivamente.

Ante la proximidad del cotejo ante el clásico rival por el campeonato local, Bottinelli aseguró que el plantel `millonario` no mira "la otra vereda" y que aguardan con "tranquilidad" ese encuentro de la décima jornada en el estadio Monumental.

River Plate, que suma 11 unidades en el torneo Inicial, jugará el próximo jueves ante Liga de Loja, de Ecuador, por la revancha de los octavos de final de Copa Sudamericana 2013, donde deberá revertir la serie (1-2) para acceder a cuartos.

"Está muy complicado"

Pizzi admitió que será difícil incorporar a un delantero para reemplazar al lesionado Martín Cauteruccio y destacó a los puntas que tiene en el plantel. Igual, dejó abierta una puerta: "Tenemos plazo hasta el viernes...".

"El que busca encuentra", reza el dicho popular. Muchos se aferran a esa idea y son constantes en su búsqueda. En cambio, otros prefieren resignarse rápido al no hallar respuestas. Juan Antonio Pizzi, DT de San Lorenzo, está en medio de esta encrucijada: por un lado sabe (y siente) que necesita un punta para reemplazar al goleador del equipo, Martín Cauteruccio. Y por el otro, entiende que el poco tiempo que resta para resolver la situación le juega en contra. "Está muy complicado conseguir un reemplazante para Cauteruccio", arrancó por Deportivo Télam. El delantero ex Quilmes, se rompió el ligamento cruzado anterior de su rodilla derecha y será baja entre seis y ocho meses.

"En el plano local, nadie quiere ceder jugadores a esta altura de la temporada. Y para traer del exterior se complica, porque tenemos el cupo de extranjeros cubierto", explicó el entrenador. Encima, no queda mucho margen: "Tenemos plazo hasta el viernes para conseguir a alguien. El tiempo es escaso", soltó. Pero Pizzi no se queda dando vueltas en el problema, sino que busca la solución. "Ya tenemos la mente puesta en solventar el tema con los jugadores que tenemos, y estamos satisfechos", manifestó.

Para cerrar, contó qué harán si es que no consiguen a nadie. "Tenemos a Gonzalo Verón y a Héctor Villalba, pero también esperamos al chico Rodrigo Contreras, que se recupera de una lesión. Eso sí: no cambiaremos el esquema", finalizó.

Argentina Primera Division Wrap: Super Maxi scores again in Newell´s win

Maxi Rodriguez scored his third goal in four matches for Newell´s Old Boys as they maintained top spot in the Argentine Primera Division.

Newell´s won 1-0 away to Racing Club to stay one point ahead of San Lorenzo in the Argentine top-flight while Argentinos Juniors´ poor run continued.

Rodriguez scored a stunning goal versus Racing, his third in four games for Newell´s to go with his international goal for Argentina earlier in the month.

Racing, who sit bottom of the Primera Division, looked on track for an unexpected point against Newell´s until Rodriguez intervened in the 86th minute.

The 32-year-old winger picked up the ball around 25 yards from goal on the right-hand corner of the box, went past four Racing defenders on a slaloming run and then slotted his shot inside the near post.

The victory took Newell´s to 17 points from eight games this season, while San Lorenzo moved up to 16 after a 2-0 victory on the road at Colon.

After a goalless first half at Colon´s Estadio Brigadier General Estanislao Lopez, Ignacio Piatti put San Lorenzo in front in the 66th minute with a thumping strike from 25 yards.

Just six minutes later, the visitors doubled their lead when Hector Villalba stole possession on the left wing, burst forward and then slipped the ball into the middle where Juan Ignacio Cavallaro finished from close range.

Arsenal dropped to third after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rosario Central, which allowed San Lorenzo to claim second.

Gimnasia La Plata and Argentinos Juniors sit just below Arsenal on goal difference with all three clubs on 14 points.

Estudiantes held Gimnasia to a 1-1 draw, while Argentinos Juniors failed to win for the third game in their last four after a scoreless stalemate versus Boca Juniors.

In Buenos Aires, Velez Sarsfield thumped Atletico Rafaela 4-1 with Lucas Pratto scoring one and setting up another for the victors, while River Plate defeated All Boys 1-0.

In other results, Godoy Cruz won 2-0 over Tigre, Olimpo drew 1-1 with Belgrano and Quilmes were held to a scoreless draw by Lanus.

Peru Primera Division Wrap: Real Garcilaso increase gap at top

Real Garcilaso defeated Group A rivals Sporting Cristal 2-1 to stretch their lead in the second phase of the Peruvian Primera Division.

A penalty from Fabio Ramos and a header from Victor Ferreira gave Garcilaso a two-goal lead in the first half and although Sporting hit back after the break through Irven Avila, the home side held on for victory and a seven-point lead in Group A.

Garcilaso have 62 points from 34 games, while Sporting have played one less match for 55, two points ahead of third-placed Alianza Lima, who defeated Melgar 2-0.

In Sunday´s game at Garcilaso´s Estadio Municipal de Urcos, the home side hit the front in the 25th minute when Ramos smashed his spot-kick past the outstretched hands of Sporting´s goalkeeper Diego Penny.

It was 2-0 three minutes later as Ferreira headed home at the back post from Jose Fernandez´s right-wing cross.

Sporting scored on the counter-attack in the 50th minute when Avila stepped past Garcilaso´s Diego Carranza to finish, after picking up a pin-point pass from Horacio Calcaterra, but the visitors could not manage an equalising goal and Garcilaso held on for the three points.

In Group B, Inti Gas moved within five points of leaders Universitario, who lost their second game in a row.

A penalty from Johan Favo gave Leon de Huanuco a 1-0 victory over Universitario, while Inti Gas overcame Jose Galvez by the same scoreline.

Universitario top Group B with 57 points with Inti Gas on 52, while UTC Cajamarca sit third on 49 after a 3-3 draw against Universidad San Martin.

In other results, Pacifico overcame Union Comercio 1-0, Juan Aurich defeated Cienciano 3-0 and Cesar Vallejo drew 0-0 with Sport Huancayo.

Ramón promete salir a atacar

BUENOS AIRES -- El entrenador de River, Ramón Díaz, afirmó que el jueves, frente a Liga de Loja de Ecuador, quemarán "las naves desde el inicio" del partido en busca de revertir la eliminatoria para avanzar a los cuartos de final de la Copa Sudamericana.

"Tenemos que ir a buscar el resultado, porque jugando de local va a ser un partido completamente distinto. La presión tiene que ser mucho más intensa y vamos a quemar las naves desde el inicio", dijo Díaz en conferencia de prensa, luego del primer entrenamiento tras la sufrida victoria 1-0 frente a All Boys.

River, que perdió 2-1 el encuentro de ida, recibirá el jueves desde las 19.30 al equipo ecuatoriano, con arbitraje del paraguayo Julio Quintana.

"Para el partido del jueves el equipo anícamente está muy bien, tenemos que jugar un partido importante porque necesitamos ganar y que no nos voniertan, pero lo vamos a preparar de la mejor manera", precisó el riojano.

Además, Ramón celebró la presencia en el entrenamiento de Daniel Passarella y sostuvo que el presidente está "muy contento con el grupo".

"Daniel vino a saludar a los jugadores, está muy contento con el grupo y vino a agradecerle. Es muy importante la presencia del presidente porque es la autoridad máxima del club y es importante que hable con nosotros y los jugadores", dijo Díaz.

Y luego concluyó: "Nosotros sabemos la instancia en la que estamos y cómo debemos jugar el partido".

El zaguero colombiano Eder Alvarez Balanta volverá a jugar el jueves, al estar recuperado de una distensión en su pierna izquierda.

En cambio, Díaz perderá al otro zaguero titular, Jonatan Maidana, para el partido ante el conjunto ecuatoriano por acumulación de amarillas.

De Felippe dijo: "No miro la tabla"

BUENOS AIRES -- El entrenador de Independiente, Omar De Felippe, afirmó que no mira la tabla de posiciones porque "la única realidad es lo que pasa en la cancha", en referencia a la levantada del equipo desde que asumió.
"Nos sorprendieron con una pelota parada, pero lo importante es que nos repusimos y me voy muy contento por eso. Ahora buscamos un convencimiento, el convencimiento de que podemos", expresó De Felippe en Avellaneda, luego del triunfo por 2-1 frente a Sarmiento de Junín.

Con este resultado, Independiente quedó a 9 puntos del líder de la Primera B Nacional, Defensa y Justicia, y se acercó a la zona de ascenso.

"No miro la tabla. Tenemos que acostumbrarnos a trabajar y a mejorar, porque la única realidad es lo que pasa en la cancha", sentenció De Felippe.

Y enseguida compartió otra máxima, en plena conferencia de prensa: "No podemos jugar con la camiseta. Cada partido es un desafío aparte, y en todo caso tenemos que entrar en la historia brillante que tiene este club realizando la vuelta a Primera".

Más allá de que el conjunto no pierde desde que él asumió la conducción, De Felippe destacó que "otra cuenta pendiente era llegar al arco rival con mayor frecuencia, mayor claridad y hoy se consiguió en alguna medida".

"Hay buenos jugadores y siempre hay que tener confianza. Tenemos que lograr que cuando a uno le toque aportar lo suyo, se sienta el mejor", concluyó.

Erbes podría perderse el clásico

BUENOS AIRES -- El volante de Boca Juniors Cristian Erbes, convertido por necesidades en el lateral derecho titular, sabrá el martes el grado de lesión en un aductor que pone en riesgo su presencia en el superclásico ante River el 6 de octubre en el Monumental.

Es que Erbes nunca jugó un superclásico desde el comienzo y solo lo hizo unos minutos saltando desde el banco.

Por lo pronto confesó que le "duele mucho" la zona afectada en el partido ante Argentinos Junior, y casi al mismo tiempo que le bajaba tres dientes al mediocampista Gaspar Iñiguez, quien temerariamente metió la cabeza para trabar.

"Me enteré en el vestuario que se le habían salido los dientes", reconoció Erbes al hablar con la televisión.

El martes será sometido a estudios por imágenes para determinar el grado de lesión, pero el dolor que hoy sintió al levantarse lleva al temor de un desgarro, lo que le impediría jugar un superclásico.

"Ojalá pueda llegar. El semestre pasado venía jugando y no lo pude jugar. Tengo muchas ganas de arrancar jugando un clásico. Jugué uno solo pero entrando después", contó.

Para el entrenador Carlos Bianchi se le complica el panorama pues el lateral que empezó como titular, Leandro Marín, está descartado para el resto del torneo Inicial por una luxación de hombro.

Bianchi deberá definir quién jugará en esa posición ante Quilmes.

America´s motto: Club above country?

The Liga MX news this week should be about which team is on top. Defending champions Club America stomped back into first place by virtue of a confident win 3-1 victory over Chiapas F.C. Rubens Sambueza, Miguel Layun and Raul Jimenez put the team up by three, while Carlos Ochoa scored the lone consolation goal for Chiapas. So far, the Aguilas are having a season to make their fans adore them, as they seemed primed to enter the playoffs ready to win a record-breaking twelfth title.

Truth is, however, the team whose unofficial motto is "Hate me more", could be in for a lot more hate than just the usual suspects of envy for their success. If the rumors are true that Club America directors prevented coach Miguel Herrera from breaking his contract to coach Mexico´s national team, then the club has made the ultimate choice of putting itself before its own country. Now, it could be that Club America´s administration has thought what many have, that Victor Manuel Vucetich is a perfectly competent coach and that Mexico will no doubt secure fourth place in the CONCACAF Hexagonal over Panama and then defeat the island nation of New Zealand for a spot in the 2014 World Cup.

If that happens, then Club America will pat themselves on the back for not upsetting team chemistry and momentum by giving up their coach for national duty. Few will criticize the choice or even think about it.

Yet if Mexico struggles in the next round of games while America continues to soar under the guidance of Herrera, the cruel contrast of fortunes will no doubt call attention to the club´s self-interest over the national interest. That could trigger an unprecedented level of hate that might even leave a few Aguilas fans remorseful about the club´s choice.

Of course, when viewed through the lens of what other clubs near the bottom of the league table are doing, perhaps Club America is right to put itself first and foremost. Besides the Aguilas being the new leaders of the table, there is a new squad which is dead last - Pumas de UNAM. Yes, the derby rivals of the Aguilas, which only last season opened the playoffs against their most fervent competition, are now virtually eliminated from playoff contention at all this season. They have earned only a dismal five points, and lost meekly, 1-0, to Atlante on the weekend.

Perhaps Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez cursed the team by saying he liked their logo at the beginning of the season. Pumas has tried changing coaches, but to no avail. The historic team seems headed for a complete failure of a season.

Marco Fabian and Chivas continue to cope with a nightmare of a season. At least for Pumas, such total failure is a relatively recent development. For Guadalajara, this Liga MX season is the second in a row to see them fail to make the liguilla. The squad isn´t mathematically eliminated yet, but any reasonable scenario points to this happening soon. Guadalajara lost, 2-1 to Leon this past weekend. They have earned only seven points in the entire Apertura 2013 season. Without making the playoffs, Chivas will thus not even be able to possibly deny Club America the chance to break the title record both teams share. Like Pumas, a coaching change has not helped the team play better.

In the middle of the league table, a number of clubs held serve with draws, resulting in only slight changes of their positions. Club Tijuana and Cruz Azul, as well as Tigres and Puebla, fought to scoreless results, while Pachuca and Santos marked a goal each in their encounter. Veracruz and and Atlas gave fans a big bang for their bucks in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Monterrey, meanwhile, is having some positive results from cutting loose their former coach, Vucetich, earning a nice 3-1 victory over Morelia.

No team, however, put up more points on the board than Toluca, which pounded Queretaro 4-0. With Raul Nava and Edgar Benitez in fine form, Toluca could be the sleeper team of the season.

Still, it’s looking for all the world like Club America is king of the Liga MX world. The price of keeping Herrera on to rule that kingdom, however, may seem too costly if Mexico’s World Cup hopes are the price to pay.

Pumas are unrecognizable in the Apertura

MEXICO CITY -- Historically, they´ve been known for their tenacity, their commitment, and their good soccer. Today they simply don´t have any of that: they are a lost team, a team without direction, with its key players far from playing at their best level. It´s painful to see such an important team reduced to this.

I write this not just because of Saturday´s game against Atlante, but also because of the blow delivered by Monarcas in Ciudad Universitaria, and because of the way America steamrolled them in the Olimpico, and for the goal-fests that they narrowly avoided against Leon and Tijuana. None of this fits the Puma tradition.

Atlante defeated them even though they were playing with 10 men from the 58th minute when Mauricio Romero was expelled from the game. Curiously, that was the period when Atlante created the most scoring opportunities.

Dario Veron´s individual form has decreased dramatically, and he made obvious errors of judgment; not to mention Javier Cortes, who is once again far from his best form, and Martin Bravo, whose era at Universidad ended a long time ago. The list goes on and on, and even more so if we look at the recent additions.

What have Ariel Nahuelpan, Candido Ramirez and Robin Ramirez contributed? The Paraguayan was presented as the new Salvador Cabanas and he has only scored 3 goals in 1,300 minutes; in other words, he scores a goal every 433 minutes. That speaks for itself.

The management has made multiple serious errors. The "new" administration of Mario Trejo started off with one more: the appointment of Jose Luis Trejo. They simply lack direction. But also, what were they thinking? Jose Luis Trejo hadn´t kicked a ball in seven years. One can only expect the downwards spiral to continue.

The problem runs deeper than just who is on the bench. Before, they had Joaquin Del Olmo, Mario Carrillo and Antonio Torres Servin; and Alberto Garcia Aspe suffered the same fate as Vice President of Sporting Activities.

Procedures have been changed, confused decisions have been made, the academy has stopped producing, and the worst is that the university pride has been lost. Can it be recovered? As far behind as they appear in the league table, they have another six matches that will be played as ´finals´ ahead of them
