Kranevitter: "Los partidos que quedan se deben jugar por el prestigio"

BUENOS AIRES -- El mediocampista de River Plate Matías Kranevitter afirmó el viernes que los partidos que quedan del Torneo Final, en el que el club ya no tiene chances, se jugarán por "el prestidio" del club, luego de la eliminación en la Copa Total Sudamericana.

"Los partidos que quedan se deben jugar por el prestigio que le tenemos al club y a la camiseta de River. Por ese motivo debemos cerrar lo mejor posible estas cinco fechas que quedan", manifestó Kranevitter en diálogo con el programa radial "Deportivo Télam".

"Nos dolió mucho quedar eliminados, fue una derrota muy dura para nosotros, no esperábamos perder de esa manera", admitió.

Kranevitter tuvo una actuación destacada para los hinchas de River que concurrieron el miércoles último al encuentro en el Monumental, en el que Lanús eliminó al conjunto de Ramón Díaz.

"Lanús nos ganó muy bien, los dos goles de entrada fueron fundamentales para el partido, sentimos ese golpe", apuntó.

"Para mí fue un partido especial, quién no quiere jugar un partido así, en tu cancha, con tu gente, por eso estamos dólidos como el hincha por el resultado", confesó.

El juvenil mediocampista, oriundo de San Miguel de Tucumán, es una de las apuesta que tiene el técnico Ramón Díaz de cara a lo que viene a futuro del club de Nuñez, y el hincha de River lo hizo notar el miércoles en el Monumental.

"La verdad que no me di cuenta que la gente me estaba aplaudiendo a mí, me enteré luego de que terminó el partido", señaló.

"No cualquier pibe de 20 años juega en la primera de su club con toda su gente y recibe ese reconocimiento, yo siempre lo soñé", reflexionó.

River jugará este domingo en último turno (21:15) ante Vélez Sarfield en Liniers, donde el técnico Ramón Díaz lo mantendrá entre los titulares.

"Tener a Ramón como técnico por lo que él significa para este club, es importante. Me da mucha confianza, siempre apuesta a la cantera del club", manifestó.

"Estoy muy agradecido porque confió en mí, por eso cuando me tocó entrar entregué lo mejor, como les pasó a Gio Siomeone o (Federico) Andrada", concluyó.

San Lorenzo star, Angel Correa linked to Rosario drug ring could halt any European move

Without question the big match this weekend is the top of the table clash between Newell’s Old Boys and San Lorenzo in Rosario later today. However, on the eve of the game police officials from Rosario are supposedly investigating San Lorenzo striker, Angel Correa amid reports that his ownership could be used by a group of drug traffickers to launder their money. Could this be a ruse prior to the title clash or another murky chapter in Argentine football?

The 18-year-old, Rosario born, striker was at the centre of transfer gossip last week linking him with some of the biggest names in European football but Correa once again finds himself in the news for other reasons ahead of the biggest game of the season.

The Rosario Justice Department are investigating the business group who part own Angel Correa as it is connected to the Cantero Family, a well-known criminal organisation in Rosario and believed to head up one of the largest drug rings, Los Monos. The suspicion is that in owning 60% of the economic rights of the player, any business concerning Correa could be used to launder the drug money from Rosario.

For this reason, it is understood that Juan Carlos Vienna, the Examining Magistrate has instructed San Lorenzo “to refrain from enrolling or transferring any rights of Angel Correa.” This would certainly put an end to any potential transfer at this time it would seem.

However, Marcelo Vazquez, the Club Secretary for San Lorenzo has expressed his scepticism over the timing of this announcement. With the two sides meeting tonight in a match which could well determine the outcome of the championship, perhaps Vazquez and El Ciclon are right to feel that there may be a little more to this than meets the eye
