Ponte Preta forward Rildo has discussed the possibility of leaving the recently relegated Brasileirão club and talked about Santos and Atlético Mineiro as his next destination.
The 24-year-old revealed it would be a “dream” to play for Peixe but admitted it was only paper talk at the moment.
“I have not seen the talk of Santos, a club that had Pelé, Robinho, Neymar… it would be a dream to play there but my manager has not passed me anything, I just saw the newspapers.
“The only thing I knew was the Atlético Mineiro link, which was a few weeks ago.”
Rildo couldn’t prevent his current team being relegated in the 2013 campaign and only contributed two goals and two assists in 28 league appearances. He believes he played well in the second half of the Brasileirão though.
“I think it is hard for me to stay because I did have a good second half of the season… although the team has fallen down to Serie B, I had good matches, even though I didn’t make many goals, I gave passes and won penalties.”
He is expected to leave Ponte Preta over the next few days and if he is to sign for Santos he will join Leandro Damião. Another forward who recently transferred to the club.
