Gastón Fernández aún no logró acuerdo para irse de Estudiantes

LA PLATA -- El delantero no acordó todavía su desvinculación del club. El ex-River tomó la decisión de irse a jugar a Estados Unidos pero la entidad quiere obtener algún rédito económico.

Estudiantes aún debe afrontar el pago de una multa a Tigres de México de 800 mil dólares impuesta por el Tribunal Arbitral del Deporte.

La Gata sostiene, como se lo comentó a Télam días atrás, que resigna los últimos seis meses del contrato del 2013, donde sólo tuvo participación en 45 minutos en el partido final del torneo ante Tigre y que con ese "ahorro" más el contrato de 2014 está la ganancia de Estudiantes.

La dirigencia, por su parte, quiere recibir 400 mil dólares por la rescisión de un vínculo que vence en junio de 2017.

Lo que está claro es que la Major League Soccer sólo arregla con el jugador y no hace operaciones con los clubes, es decir que no le pondrá dinero a Estudiantes y el acuerdo debe ser entre la institución y futbolista.

Aún se desconoce el nombre del equipo donde pretende jugar Fernández, porque la ficha pertenece a la asociación estadounidense.

En principio firmará contrato por un año con opción a otro más y uno de los puntos que se negocian es que en caso de volver a jugar en el país, Estudiantes pretende quedarse con una prioridad sobre su ficha.

En el rubro incorporaciones el Pincha sigue aguardando la respuesta por sí o por no de Sebastián Prediger, el primer refuerzo apuntado por Mauricio Pellegrino.

Mientras tanto, prosiguen los sondeos por Pablo Guiñazú, que participó de la despedida de Gabriel Milito junto a Juan Sebastián Verón y seguramente el tema habrá sido abordado.

La Brujita, además, no pierde las ilusiones por José Sosa y tampoco anunció que hará de su vida futbolística, aunque su continuidad sería un hecho, al menos por seis meses más.

En cuanto al hombre de punta pretendido por el entrenador, ya se cayeron varios nombres como los de Lucas Albertengo, Diego Vera y Mariano Pavone, mientras ingresan en zona de análisis algunos jugadores del ascenso, como el caso de Juan Martín Lucero, goleador de Defensa y Justicia, y el paraguayo Adrián Fernández, actualmente en Independiente.

Pizzi explicó su salida de San Lorenzo y elogió a Bauza

BUENOS AIRES -- Juan Antonio Pizzi afirmó este jueves que la propuesta que le hizo el Valencia "es una posibilidad única" y pidió que se apoye al plantel campeón de San Lorenzo de Almagro, que tendrá a Edgardo Bauza a "un entrenador de primer nivel".

"Se entiende el malestar y la disconformidad. Los dirigentes querían que me quedara. Yo decía que los momentos, el mismo mundo, te van guiando los caminos. Era la mejor solución. Después de lo que habíamos conseguido, de trabajar en un club de España como Valencia era una posibilidad única", expresó el director técnico por Radio La Red.

Luego, Pizzi le tiró elogios a Bauza, quien lo sucederá en el cargo en San Lorenzo.

"No hablé con él (con Bauza). Cuando debuté en Primera, era mi referente y líder como jugador. Después, fue el artífice que volviera a Central. Conozco su capacidad. Es un entrenador de primer nivel. No tengo dudas que estará a la altura de lo que reclamen las competiciones", resaltó el flamante conductor del Valencia, que fue confirmado por el club español.

Y agregó: "Somos campeones, la gente está contenta. Tiene un plantel de primer nivel. Vienen desafíos importantes como la Libertadores, la Copa Argentina. Tiene capacidad. Lo futbolístico está sólido. Hay que aprovecharlo. Tiene que sacarle provecho a esta posibilidad. San Lorenzo ya forma parte de mi vida y lo seguiré desde España".

José Turu Flores será el DT de Vélez

BUENOS AIRES -- José Oscar Flores, el exayudante de campo de Ricardo Gareca, se convirtió en el nuevo entrenador de Vélez Sarsfield, según lo confirmó en la noche del jueves Christian Bassedas, manager del club de Liniers.
De esta manera el Turu Flores, de 42 años, sucederá en el cargo a Gareca, con quien estuvo al frente del plantel en los últimos cinco años, donde obtuvieron los torneos Clausura 2009 y 2011, el Inicial 2012 y la Superfinal 2013.

"Había que respetar y respaldar la continuidad de lo que veníamos haciendo. Por eso elegimos al Turu Flores", explicó Bassedas en diálogo con Rock & Closs.

"Desde un comienzo hubo dos posibilidades: la de Omar (Asad), que es un ídolo del club, y también pensamos en continuar la línea y respetar la estructura que siempre tuvimos. Y en esa línea estaban el Turu, que fue ayudante de campo de Gareca durante todo el ciclo, y (Héctor) Almandoz", agregó.

De hecho, Flores será el entrenador y Almandoz, hasta ahora DT de la Reserva, su ayudante de campo, mientras que el preparador físico seguirá siendo el mismo de la era Gareca: Ernesto Colman. Y en los próximos días podría sumarse otro colaborador al cuerpo técnico.

El Turco Asad, otra exgloria de Veléz, le dijo que no a la dirigencia velezana porque no aceptó que le armaran el cuerpo técnico con el Turu" Flores y el Coyo Almandoz.

Justamente Asad y Flores ganaron juntos los torneos Clausura 1993 y 1996 y el Apertura 1995, más las Copa Libertadores e Intercontinental 1994 y la Interamericana 1996. Pero esta vez el destino no los volvió a unir.

Defender Pedro Geromel announced as a Grêmio player by the club

Grêmio have confirmed the signing of Pedro Geromel on a contract that runs until June 2016, however confusion still remains about whether it is a permanent or loan deal.

The 28-year-old has been on loan to Spanish side Real Mallorca since 2012 but struggled to recreate his previous good form and now returns to his home country with details of his contract yet to be released.

On Monday Geromel arrived in Brazil, as had been indicated, to spend Christmas with his family and he’s predicted to be presented to the media on Thursday, he’ll also sign his contract that day.

The Brazilian will then look to play senior football in Brazil for the first time in his career as he departed before he was given a chance to play as a youngster.

The strong central defender, 6 foot 3 inches in statue, left the Palmeiras youth academy in 2003 to move to Portuguese side Chavas where he made his professional debut.

His impressive performances at the second division side earned him a move to top-flight Portguese club Vitória de Guimarães before a prolonged spell in Germany with Köln.

After finishing second in the Brasileirão last season, Grêmio will hope to go one better next year and the acquisition of Geromel should enhance their already solid defence.

International announce signing of Dida and Wellington Paulista for 2014

Internacional have confirmed the signing of striker Wellington Paulista and former Brazil national team goalkeeper Dida today for the 2014 season.

The deal to sign Dida comes after the 40-year-old failed to reach a wage agreement with Grêmio to extend his one season stay with the club.

Despite his age Dida will be favourite to take the keeper’s jersey from Muriel who was first choice for the Porto Alegre club last season.

Most famous for his ten-year stay with AC Milan, Dida has played for a number of clubs in Brazil but shows no signs of stopping despite reaching the twilight stages of his career.

He helped Grêmio finish second in the Brasileirão last season, starting 37 times and conceding 34 goals.

Wellington Paulista has joined as well this after it was announced last Thursday that he was set to join Colorado. He completed his medical before signing a two-year contract this afternoon.

The 29-year-old will be expected to replace Leandro Damião and after a successful loan spell with Criciúma he’ll be confident of doing so.

Wellington Paulista scored 11 goals in 24 appearances in the 2013 Brasileirão but Internacional already have an array of forwards with Diego Forlán, Ignacio Scocco, Rafael Moura, Caio and Otávio all capable of playing in advanced positions.

Colorado will hope the addition of these two players will help them improve on last season’s disappointing final standing of 14th.

Atlético Paranaense announce Dejan Petković is part of youth set up

Atlético Paranaense have confirmed that Dejan Petković is their new under-23 manager and will co-ordinate the youth set up at the club.

The Hurricane achieved promotion to the Brasileirão in 2012 and finished 3rd in their first season back in the division, thus earning a Copa Libertadores spot.

Petković will be charged with helping improve the youth system at the club and will be manager for the 2014 Campeonato Paranaense like former head coach Arthur Bernardes was in 2013.

Experienced Brazilian Bernardes achieved some success last season with Atlético Paranaense in the Campeonato as he got them into the final only for them to lose 5-3 to Coritiba over two legs.

However a poor display in the Brazilian U20 Championship resulted in his sacking and now Petković has a chance to show what he can do.

The Serbian played for a number of illustrious clubs during his 23-year playing career. He represented Spanish giants Real Madrid but also enjoyed a prominent spell in Brazil, a country where he has a great legacy.

His first spell was with Vitória in 1997 before he went on to appear for Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense and Santos amongst other clubs in Brazil.

Petković will hope to enjoy the same success he had as a player in his new managerial career, although his lack of experience does leave question marks over his appointment.

Palmeiras executive director Jose Carlos Brunoro admits Ronaldinho interest

Executive director Jose Carlos Brunoro has confirmed Palmeiras are interested in Ronaldinho.

The attacking midfielder’s contract with Atlético Mineiro expires on 31 December. As yet, no agreement has been found for a renewal.

Roberto Assis, Ronaldinho’s agent and brother, was expected to hold talks with club officials this week, after the 33 year-old confirmed his desire to stay at O Galo.

If Assis´ discussions do not reach a positive outcome, however, Ronaldinho may be forced to look elsewhere. Grêmio, where he started his career, are believed to be interested, as are Spor Toto Süper Lig side Beşiktaş and Palmeiras.

The eight-time Brasileirão champions are looking for a marquee signing, after securing promotion back to Brazil’s top flight. Brunoro believes Ronaldinho can be that player, though admits any deal would rely on financial support.

"Every club is talking about Ronaldinho because he is such a great player," he told Radio Globo on Thursday.

"Of course he interests us, but we are a long way from signing him at this stage. If he is still available in January, we can start thinking about it.

"We think that he pays for himself through marketing, but we want to be sure before we make any deal with any player. There has to be no doubt that everything will be paid for.”

Ronaldinho joined Atlético Mineiro in June 2012, after leaving Flamengo. The Brazil international, capped 97 times, was integral as they won the Campeonato Mineiro and Copa Libertadores this season.

Atlético Mineiro forward Diego Tardelli expecting Ronaldinho to stay

Atlético Mineiro forward Diego Tardelli has targeted keeping the squad that won the Copa Libertadores together and firmly believes Ronaldindo will stay with the team for 2014.

On the disappointment of the FIFA Club World Cup, Tardelli admitted it would take a while to get rid of the bad memories but wants the Belo Horizonte based club to try to banish them quickly and start the season well.

“We have to play to erase the shame from the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take a while to forget but we need to start with the right foot and face (frame of mind) in the Libertadores, in the same way we did this year.

“Hopefully everybody stays, everyone that helped us win the Libertadores.”

One player who has been linked with a move away from Atlético Mineiro is Brazilian legend Ronaldinho but his fellow team mate believes he will stay with Galo.

Tardelli believes he will renew his contract and try to fight for the Copa Libertadores again.

“I do not know, so we talked and I believe that he will yes,” Tardelli responded when asked if Ronaldinho will sign an extension.

A credit to the Atlético board is that other than Bernard they have kept the majority of the 2013 squad together and Tardelli hopes that will continue.

Reports link Flamengo with Tigres attacking midfielder Éverton

Éverton of Tigres de la UANL, more commonly known as Tigres, is set to join Flamengo according to LANCE and will be have a medical on Friday in Rio de Janeiro.

The 25-year-old was on loan at Atlético Paranaense last season and has been negotiating with Flamengo for the past 20 days but could still move to the side he appeared for last season.

The Hurricane apparently has until Monday to exercise the rights for his purchase, his current Mexican club have asked for £4.8 million but a lot depends on tomorrows actions.

Éverton played for Flamengo on loan in 2008 and 2009 and looks set for a return to the club in a position where they need reinforcements.

Last season he played the majority of his 33 Brasileirão appearances behind the forward in attacking midfielder and scored three times, whilst contributing four assists.

The Rio de Janeiro club struggled in front of goal last season scoring just 43 times and they’ll hope this signing will give them more creativity.

Éverton will hope if he does move to Flamengo that he can enjoy success in 2014 and have an extended spell at the team.

Adryan on the verge of 18-month move to Serie A club Cagliari

Brazil under-20 international Adryan looks set to move to Italian club Cagliari on an 18-month deal after his agent Reinaldo Pitta told UOL Sport.

The 19-year-old attacker only featured 14 times in the Brasileirão last season and according to his agent wants to move to the Serie A club based in Sardinia.

Pitta believes Flamengo only have to respond to the offer from the Italian side for the move to be confirmed. The deal is believed to be a loan move with an option to make it permanent.

“The Italians have issued the proposal, which is currently in the hands of the Flamego board.

“Adryan is interested and motivated by this transfer and it will be important for him to gain more experience.

“Sardinia is a city with similarities to Brazilian cities and that will help him adapt his characteristics there.

“The period is a year and a half and it will be crucial for the player to demonstrate his good football ability.”

Adryan has represented Brazil at several different age groups from the U15’s to the U20’s and has been linked with English Premier League club Manchester United in the past.

He will hope to follow in the footsteps of Kakà as one of the many Brazilians to develop their game in Italy.
