Gago trabajó diferenciado por precaución

BUENOS AIRES -- Tras realizar un ensayo de fútbol formal en la tarde del miércoles, Carlos Bianchi programó que, durante la mañana del jueves, el plantel de Boca realice ejercicios tácticos en espacios reducidos.

La sorpresa de la actividad fue que no participaron Fernando Gago y Luciano Acosta, quienes por precaución se entrenaron de manera diferenciada para que su presencia en el Superclásico del próximo sábado no corra peligro.

Cabe recordar que en la jornada del miércoles, Bianchi probó en una práctica de fútbol el mismo equipo que disputó el primer partido ante River, con dos cambios respecto a los que jugaron en Córdoba, ya que volvieron al equipo titular Agustín Orión y Daniel Díaz.

De esta forma, de no mediar inconvenientes, los once de Boca serían: Agustín Orión; Hernán Grana, Daniel Díaz, Juan Forlín, Nahuel Zárate; Pablo Ledesma, Fernando Gago; Juan Manuel Martínez, Luciano Acosta, Juan Sánchez Miño; Emmanuel Gigliotti.

Boca enfrentará a River y a Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta antes de comenzar su participación oficial en el Torneo Final 2014. Mientras tanto, el equipo de Carlos Bianchi debutará en Rosario ante Newell´s y que luego enfrentará a Belgrano, en la Bombonera, pero sin la presencia de pública.

Fluminense win in latest state championship game

Verón sumó minutos en un amistoso

BUENOS AIRES -- Juan Sebastián Verón continúa con su preparación personalizada para llegar en óptimas condiciones a su último semestre como jugador profesional y, por ello, participó en el amistoso que Estudiantes y Quilmes disputaron en la mañana del jueves en el Country de City Bell.

El exvolante de la Selección Argentina disputó su primer partido de fútbol formal en el 2014 participando del juego en 62 minutos y, en las próximas horas, Mauricio Pellegrino evaluará si lo incluye en el amistoso del próximo domingo, ante Gimnasia.

Estudiantes, en un principio, formó con: Agustín Silva; Leonardo Jara, Germán Ré, Matías Presentado, Ernesto Goñi; Patricio Rodríguez, Israel Damonte, Juan Sebastián Verón, Mariano Gonzalez; Jorge Luna y Juan Manuel Olivera. Este último tuvo su debut, siendo el único refuerzo que llegó hasta el momento.

Luego, Pellegrino puso en cancha un probable equipo titular con: Gerónimo Rulli; Mauricio Rosales, Jonathan Schunke, Leandro Desábato, Jonathan Silva; Carlos Auzqui, Julian Marchioni, Román Martínez, Joaquín Correa; Franco Jara, Guido Carrillo ( que fue reemplazado por Álvaro Klusener).

Gimnasia transfirió a Franco Mussis

BUENOS AIRES -- Tras viajar a Dinamarca junto al presidente Daniel Onofri y someterse a los estudios médicos, el mediocampista Franco Mussis arregló su llegada al Copenaghe, club al cual se incorporará a partir del mes de junio.

El 85 % del volante de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata fue transferido al club danés por dos millones y medio de dólares, manteniéndose el restante 15% en propiedad del equipo platense.

Tras la revisación médica y la firma del contrato, Mussis regresó a Argentina ya que la idea de Pedro Troglio es incluirlo en la delegación de Gimnasia que disputará el segundo clásico del año ante Estudiantes, en el estadio José María Minella.

Cabe recordar que Gimnasia comenzará su actividad oficial el domingo 9 de febrero, ante River, en el estadio Monumental. De esta manera, comenzará el último campeonato de Franco Mussis en el "Lobo".

Racing: fútbol formal con gol de Rentería

BUENOS AIRES -- Tras la consagración en el Triangular de Mar del Plata, el plantel de Racing continúa con la puesta a punto de cara al Torneo Final y, ya con los ejercicios físicos de lado, la mañana del jueves tuvo dos ensayos de fútbol formal, bajo la atenta mirada de Reinaldo Merlo.

En un principio, los titulares jugaron ante un combinado compuestos por jugadores de la reserva y triunfaron por 3 a 2, con goles de Gabriel Hauche, Valentín Viola y Diego Villar.

Para dicho partido, Merlo puso en cancha a: Sebastián Saja; José Luis Gómez, Fernando Ortiz, Esteban Saveljich, Matías Cahais; Diego Villar, Bruno Zuculini, Gastón Campi, Rodrigo De Paul; Gabriel Hauche y Valentín Viola.

Luego, fue el turno de los suplentes que se alinearon en dos equipos diferentes a lo largo de 60 minutos e igualaron 1 a 1, con goles de Guillermo Hauche y Wason Rentería, hasta ahora la única incorporación del equipo de Avellaneda en el actual mercado de pases.

Cabe destacar que en las últimas horas se acercaron las partes entre Racing y Vélez y todo indica que en las próximas horas el mediocampista surgido en las divisiones inferiores de Quilmes se transformará en el segundo refuerzo de "Mostaza" Merlo para el Torneo Final.

Racing tendrá su debut oficial el sábado 8 de febrero, a las 21:30 hs, ante All Boys en el Estadio Presidente Perón. Luego, por la segunda fecha, visitará a San Lorenzo, el domingo 16 de febrero.

Vélez y Arsenal definen la Supercopa

BUENOS AIRES -- Vélez Sarsfield, campeón de la temporada 2012/13, y Arsenal de Sarandí, ganador de la Copa Argentina 2013, jugarán el viernes, en San Luis, la final de la 2da. edición de la Supercopa Argentina de fútbol.

El partido se desarrollará en el estadio Juan Gilberto Funes de La Punta, ciudad fundada en 2003 y ubicada a 20 kilómetros de la capital San Luis, desde las 21.10, con el arbitraje de Fernando Rapallini y televisado por la TV Pública.

En caso de finalizar el cotejo igualado, se recurrirán a 30 minutos suplementarios y de persistir el empate se definirá con remates desde el punto penal.

Vélez, que tendrá el debut oficial de José Turu Flores como DT, accedió a esta final tras ganar el certamen inicial y vencer a Newell´s, triunfador del torneo Final, en la Superfinal jugada el pasado 29 de junio en el estadio Malvinas Argentinas, en Mendoza.

El triunfo del equipo de Liniers fue por 1-0, con gol de Lucas Pratto, y le dio a Vélez el título de la temporada y el pase a la final ante Arsenal.

En cambio, el camino del de Sarandí a San Luis fue mucho más directo ya que obtuvo la clasificación al ser campeón de la pasada edición de la Copa Argentina.

El equipo que dirige Gustavo Alfaro le ganó la final a San Lorenzo, celebrada el 16 de octubre pasado, por 3-0 con goles de Mariano Echeverría, Emilio Zelaya y Nicolás Aguirre.

Para Vélez, el duelo del viernes, significará el inicio de la etapa del Turu Flores como entrenador. El ex ayudante de campo de Ricardo Gareca se hizo cargo del equipo cuando el Tigre decidió no renovar el contrato con la entidad velezana.

No se esperan grandes cambios en el funcionamiento de Vélez, ya que el estilo del equipo se mantendrá intacto más allá de alguna variante que pueda implementar Flores, integrante del glorioso equipo campeón de América y del mundo en 1994.

En Vélez, por ahora, no hay refuerzos, pero se fueron Federico Insúa (a Independiente), Jonathan Copete (Independiente Santa Fe, de Colombia) y Ezequiel Rescaldani (Málaga, de España) y está muy cerca de irse Francisco Cerro (Racing).

Vélez, que debutará el próximo 11 de febrero en la Copa Libertadores ante Universitario de Perú, en Lima, por el Grupo 1, no piensa en rutilantes refuerzos, pues la crisis económica de los clubes también alcanzó a la ordenada institución de Liniers.

Por el lado de Arsenal, todo es orden, continuidad del cuerpo técnico y un equipo que ya `patentó´ un estilo de juego que le está otorgando jugosos dividendos, en especial en el tópico `balón parado´.

En Arsenal se fue Cristian Milla, al Huachipato de Chile, mientras que se sumó Franco Zucculini, ex Racing, Hoffenheim de Alemania, Genoa de Italia, y Real Zaragoza de España.

El equipo de Sarandí también tomará parte de la Copa Libertadores y debutará ante Santos Laguna, de México, el 11 de febrero venidero por el Grupo 8.

Menezes says Corinthians will recover from 5-1 Santos thrashing

Thieves rob a bank situated inside the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre

According to an article published by local newspaper Zero Hour, the Beira-Rio was the scene of the crime on Thursday.

The newspaper reported that two men threatened the manager of a bank branch located inside Internacional’s stadium.

According to the report, the thieves remained in the bank for an hour and only left after stealing the money that was kept in a safe. The pair then fled on foot.

Neither the military police nor the bank were willing to disclose the amount of money stolen. The police will use the stadium’s security cameras to help identify the assailants.

No injuries were reported but the incident spells more negative headlines for a stadium hoping to host World Cup games later this year

Caracas looks to surprise Lanús; U. de Chile welcomes Guaraní

Caracas FC will look to surprise Argentina´s Lanús in the first leg of the initial round of the Copa Libertadores to be held in the Olímpico Stadium in Caracas.

Lanús was crowned champion in December of the Copa Sudamericana, their second international title, and they come into this match as the favorite. Caracas on the other hand was runner-up of the 2013 Apertura tournament in Venezuela.

Universidad de Chile welcomes Guaraní of Paraguay

Universidad de Chile welcomes to Santiago on Thursday club Guarani of Paraguay in the debut of both teams in the first stage of the 2014 Copa Libertadores.
