Jeg har aldrig hørt om ordsproget, men tror lige, at jeg vil forhøre mig med min mor omkring det. Hahahaha.. Det passer perfekt til D´Alessandro. Dog vil jeg faktisk godt krybe til korset, og sige at det var fortjent at Internacional vandt i går.

De spiller fandens godt, kontrabold med Adel Braga´s betonforsvar. Det passer perfekt til klubben. Jeg håber det bedste for dem i Serie A, Mineiro og Gaúcho bold ser ud til at være i en guldalder ligenu. Det er ikke dårligt, efter Paulista og Carioca dominans i mange år.

Ituano triumph in Paulista as Santos lose penalty showdown

Ituano won the Paulista state championship after a dramatic penalty shoot out triumph against heavily fancied Santos on Sunday evening.

Taking a 1-0 first leg lead into the game, the team from Itu found themselves on the wrong end of the same scoreline courtesy of a goal from Santos´ Cicero from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time.

However, the home team´s pressure could not break through to find an all-important winner and Ituano grabbed the glory after a 7-6 penalty exchange. Defender Neto was the culprit for the Serie A side, missing with his effort after an earlier miss from either side.

The Paulista victory represents only a second pice of state silverware for the club; they also won the title back in 2002.

And perhaps it is just reward for them and club president Juninho Paulista as they conquered Palmeiras over two legs en route to the trophy.

Internacional claim Gaucho 1 trophy after 4-1 cruise against Gremio

Internacional won the Gaucho 1 state championship on Sunday evening after a thumping 4-1 win against Gremio gave them a 6-2 aggregate scoreline.

An impressive showing at the Beira-Rio stadium will give Inter fans plenty to be expectant about as the domestic season really starts to kick in in the immediate future.

The Porto Alegre side claimed a 43rd regional title and a fourth in as many years after goals from D´Alessandro, a double from Alex and an own goal courtesy of Alan Patrick- Gremio´s reply came from striker Barcos but with Copa Libertadores duty clearly impacting on their energy levels, an Inter win came as nothing of a surprise.

Flamengo win Carioca title after 1-1 draw with Vasco Da Gama

Flamengo won the carioca state championship by virtue of having the best record in the league stages after another 1-1 draw with Vasco da Gama in the second leg of the final at the Maracana on Sunday evening.

The Rio de Janeiro teams produced the same scoreline in the first leg and vasco were actually on the verge of taking the title until a last gasp equaliser from their opponents.

Douglas put Vasco ahead in the 76th minute with a penalty to put them within touching distance of the regional championship but a 90th minute leveller from Araujo brought Flamengo their 33rd Carioca triumph to the delight of their fans; the team had last week gone out of the Copa Libertadores in the group stages and so today´s glory will serve as something of a tonic ahead of the Brazilian national leagues starting next weekend.

World Cup winner Jorginho the new head coach at UAE outfit Al Wasl

1994 World Cup winner Jorginho has been unveiled as the new coach of UAE side Al Wasl, replacing experienced Argentine manager Hector Cuper with the club 12th in the Arabian Gulf League.

Jorginho, 49, made his name at German giants Bayern Munich and was also an assistant to ex-Brazil head coach Dunga.

He told gulfnews.com: "I have been out of Brazil for 11 years as a player and a coach and have trained in Japan and Europe and think that has given me good experience to perfrom well in the UAE."

"I have had good feedback from fellow Brazilian Ze Mario, who won the league and cup double with Al Wasl in 2007, and current Brazilian players in the league such as Ricardo Oliveira, Grafite and Ciel."

Jorginho has signed a one-year deal with the club and will start his role officially on June 20.

NPATO Ja, det egentligt bemærkelsesværdigt at det går så kidt for São Paulo-klubberne , lad det dog endelig fortsætte - det er heller ikke fordi at Carioca-klubberne er så fandens stabile - Flu havde en periode, Fla vandt et år, men hverken Fogo eller Vasco har jo vundet et nationalt mesterskab i lang tid ?

Det er vel også på tide Bahia klubberne gør væsen af sig ...utroligt de ikke kan drive det til mere.

CONCACAF Champions League Preview: Cruz Azul v Toluca

Midfielder Christian Gimenez shapes as Cruz Azul´s key player ahead of the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final against Toluca.

The 33-year-old scored in Cruz Azul´s last game before Tuesday´s first leg - a 2-2 draw against Pachuca in Liga MX - and has an impressive scoring record versus Toluca.

Gimenez has hit the back of the net in three of his team´s past five clashes with Toluca for a record of three wins, one draw and one loss.

The veteran has scored in the past two fixtures between the two clubs, producing the winner in Cruz Azul´s 1-0 league triumph in March and converting a penalty in a 1-1 draw in December.

Cruz Azul are attempting to become the first club to win the CONCACAF Champions League - and its predecessor the Champions Cup - six times, while Toluca will be playing for their third title.

Recent form suggests Cruz Azul will have a lead when they head to Toluca next week, as the capital club have not lost at home to their rivals since 2009.

In fact, since that loss, Toluca have only won one other match between the two clubs when they thrashed Cruz Azul 3-0 in November.

Toluca will enter the first leg at the Estadio Azul two points behind their hosts on the domestic front.

Cruz Azul sit on top of the Liga MX table with 33 points but Toluca did move within striking distance of the leaders on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Leon.

Toluca reached their first continental final since 2003 with a 3-0 aggregate victory over Costa Rica´s Alajuelense, while Cruz Azul trumped another Mexican club Tijuana 2-1.

Raul Nava will be the main man for Toluca as the 23-year-old striker leads the CONCACAF Champions League goal-scoring charts with seven, although he has not found the back of the net in four matches.

Toluca´s winger Edgar Benitez is equal sixth with three goals, while Cruz Azul´s Mariano Pavone and Achille Emana both have four.

Cruz Azul last won the continental competition in 1997 but have missed out in Copa Libertadores (2001) and CONCACAF Champions League (2009 and 2010) finals since.
