Omar Asad se irá de Godoy Cruz

BUENOS AIRES -- Omar Asad decidió dejar de ser el entrenador de Godoy Cruz y mañana se despediría del plantel, que quedará a cargo interinamente de Daniel Oldrá.

Según fuentes del club confiaron a DyN, Asad avisó que dejará el cargo y que mañana lo hará público.

Asad se disculpó el domingo en no dar la conferencia tras el duro golpe que significó el 0-3 ante Arsenal en Sarandí, y allí dijo que hablaría o esa noche o el martes.

El Turco ya no tenía sostén en el equipo mendocino que se acerca a la zona de descenso.

Oldrá, un hombre de la casa y desde hace años coordinador del fútbol tombino, se hará cargo del plantel por los tres partidos que restan hasta tanto la directiva arregle con el futuro entrenador.

Jorge Burruchaga y Eduardo Berizzo son los dos nombres que barajan en Mendoza como posibles sucesores del Turco.

BUENOS AIRES -- El entrenador de San Lorenzo, Juan Antonio Pizzi, admitió hoy que no está "ajeno a la realidad" que muestra el peligro de descender aunque confía en salir por el camino estratégico que trata de imponer en el equipo.

"Del descenso...no podemos estar ajenos a la realidad de la situación, pero creemos que el mejor camino para salir es hacer lo que más nos conviene, que es esto que estamos tratando de implementar", sostuvo Pizzi al término del entrenamiento del plantel en la Ciudad Deportiva.

El técnico se refirió a la mejora de los últimos partidos, que significaron 7 puntos sobre 9 con sendas victorias sobre All Boys (4-0) y Rafaela (1-0) y un empate en Santa Fe frente a Unión (2-2).

"A medida que fueron pasando los partidos el equipo se fue consolidando y esperemos que para el futuro vayamos mejorando porque necesitamos mejorar", apuntó Pizzi.

Pizzi aclaró que no es "cerrado" a su idea y que está "dispuesto a contemplar variantes dentro del fútbol" que propicia.

"Hay estados de ánimo de los futbolistas, cualidades de los futbolistas, tener en cuenta los rivales, y uno tiene que ir adaptándose a eso y sacar el mejor rendimiento posible", explicó.

Al ser consultado sobre Julio Buffarini, un volante al que Pizzi ubicó como lateral por la misma banda, la derecha, el técnico insistió en que el futbolista nunca le puso reparo por el cambio de posición. "He escuchado un comentario de que Buffarini había manifestado que no se sentía cómodo (como lateral). A mí, personalmente, no me lo dijo en ningún momento...no es que le dije o jugás acá o no jugás", explicó. "Me gusta que los laterales tengan proyección y recorrido de toda la banda y Buffarini reúne las cualidades para desarrollar la tarea, y no he notado un mal rendimiento en esa función, ya que es de esos jugadores que te permiten tener la variante de utilizarlo en dos o más puestos", cerró Pizzi.

20 heridos y 7 detenidos en Santa Fe

BUENOS AIRES -- Veinte personas resultaron heridas, una de ellas con un disparo de arma de fuego, tras la conclusión del clásico que Colón le ganó a Unión, en Santa Fe, en tanto siete individuos fueron detenidos por ocasionar disturbios.

Los voceros señalaron que la guardia del hospital provincial José María Cullen atendió a un hombre de 36 años que ingresó con una herida de bala, cuya gravedad no fue informada.

Del total de heridos, 2 son policías, en tanto entre los simpatizantes que fueron trasladados al Cullen, cuatro fueron mujeres y otras catorce personas del sexo masculino, la mayoría con golpes y contusiones.

Además, voceros de la Unidad Regional Uno de policía dijo que siete personas fueron detenidas tras el partido.

Spurs target Leandro Damião not looking for January move to Premier League - report

Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Damião has reportedly stated he will not be moving to the Premier League in January.

The Internacional striker has been a long-term target of Spurs managers Harry Redknapp and Andre Villas-Boas, who saw a summer bid rejected.

Reports suggested Villas-Boas was set to renew his interest during the January transfer window but Damião has now revealed he is not in a hurry to leave Brazil, according to the Mirror.

Lucas Moura thanks São Paulo fans after emotional Morumbi appearance

Future Paris Saint-Germain player Lucas Moura made an emotional appearance at Morumbi Stadium on Sunday as São Paulo beat Náutico 2-1.

Former Santos playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has thanked the São Paulo fans after making his long-awaited debut in front of a record crowd.

Ganso, 23, made the controversial switch to the Morumbi in September after falling out with cross-city rivals Santos officials over a new contract.
