Zuculini: "Plantearlo como siempre"

BUENOS AIRES -- El mediocampista de Racing, Bruno Zuculini, admitió hoy estar "ansioso" por jugar por primera vez en La Bombonera, y se ilusionó con ganarle a Boca y seguir en la lucha por el título.

"Nunca jugué en la cancha de Boca, ni en Primera ni en Reserva, estuve en el banco con Miguel Russo y la vedad que va a ser muy lindo, lo estoy esperando ansioso, va a ser muy lindo partido", se imaginó Zuculini sobre el partido del domingo por la antepenúltima fecha del torneo Inicial.

Por lo pronto, adelantó que Racing va a "plantear el partido como siempre" y se mostró esperanzado en "poder ganar", aunque reconoció que Boca "se hace fuerte" en su cancha.

Con las dos últimas victorias, Racing retomó la ilusión de pelear el título del torneo Inicial luego de caer en una meseta. "Nosotros también pensábamos que nos habíamos alejado y que no teníamos chance, pero se nos dieron los resultados y estamos ahí. Ojalá podamos hacer un buen partido en La Boca. Queremos ganar y seguir haciendo una buena campaña", evaluó.

Por la lluvia, el plantel de Racing se entrenó en el gimnasio cubierto.

El técnico Luis Zubeldía tiene definido que repetirá el equipo que goleó a Quilmes 4-0.

Ronaldinho expected to sign a new two year contract with Atlético Mineiro

Lancenet! are reporting that former Barcelona star Ronaldinho is expected to stay with Atlético Mineiro for two more years, after successful talks between his brother and agent, Roberto Assis, and the Atlético Mineiro board.

Ronaldinho, 32, has been linked in recent weeks to moves to Fluminense and Santos but it appears the player is keen to stay in Belo Horizonte after a successful for season.

Lanús: Guillermo repetirá la formación


BUENOS AIRES -- El plantel de Lanús realizó hoy trabajos livianos en una nueva práctica de cara al partido del domingo ante Estudiantes de La Plata, clave para sus aspiraciones a lograr el Torneo Inicial 2012.

BUENOS AIRES -- El director técnico de Estudiantes de La Plata, Diego Cagna, sigue sin definir el equipo para visitar el domingo a Lanús, aunque cambiaría el esquema táctico para tener mayores recaudos ante uno de los líderes del campeonato.

Cagna volvería al 4-1-4-1, con Carlos Auzqui más retrasado y con el colombiano Duván Zapata como única referencia de área.

"Es bueno que el equipo se pueda adaptar a varios sistemas. Lo malo sería que cambiemos y que no salga, o no funcione, pero habla bien de los jugadores que podamos modificar y que la estructura no se resienta", expresó el entrenador en conferencia de prensa.

Martino: "No firmé con Boca"


ROSARIO -- El entrenador de Newell´s Old Boys, Gerardo Martino, aseguró el jueves que no tiene ningún precontrato firmado con Boca Juniors para suceder en el cargo a Julio César Falcioni.

"Esto es simple, se dicen verdades o mentiras. La realidad muestra que pasan las semanas y no sucede nada de lo que se dice. Me parece injusto aclarar algo que no generé yo. No firmé ningún precontrato con Boca, porque significaría haberlo hecho con el actual entrenador trabajando", expresó el técnico en conferencia de prensa, molesto con la pregunta sobre su posible vínculo con el Xeneize a partir del próximo año.

Vitória captain Uelliton dreaming of Cruzeiro move


Vitória captain Uelliton has spoken of his delight of being linked with a move to Cruzeiro, a deal that is close to completion according to many reports.

Uelliton, 25, has been one of the leading defensive midfielders in Série B over the past couple of seasons and is looking forward to testing his skills in the top flight once more.

"All players dream of playing for a big team and I am no different," Uelliton told Lancenet. "Cruzeiro are one of the biggest teams in the country and I hope that everything goes right and I sign with the Mineiro club."

The deal with Cruzeiro was revealed by the player´s agent Antônio Gustavo, who told reporters that a verbal agreement is in place ahead of the coming transfer window.

The player also revealed that he has had an insight into the facilities and structure of the club, having participated in a friendly match at Cruzeiro´s training centre during a loan-spell with Mineiro side Itaúna earlier in his career.

São Paulo president: No regrets over Jean sale


São Paulo president Juvenal Juvêncio insists he has no regrets over the sale of full-back Jean to Fluminense, after the player´s recent rise to the Brazilian national team.

Jean, 26, moved to Fluminense in early 2012 with the Rio de Janeiro side acquiring 35% of his economic rights for R$6 million, with the option to purchase a further 50% before June 2013 for R$3.5 million.

Juvêncio believes that the Carioca side will take-up their option to purchase a bigger stake in one of the stars of the 2012 Brasileirão and defended the club´s decision to sell their academy product.

"Jean will be sold on a permanent basis," Juvenal told Radio Globo. "I do not regret anything.

"I want him to leave and be successful, like Luis Fabiano or Kaká. I want to sell all those who have been successful, to show the vitality of the club and our youth products.

"Jean has a fixed clause and they should exercise it. They´ll do well to sign him and we are satisfied."

Tickets sold out for Confederations Cup

74,000 tickets have been sold for the upcoming Confederations Cup to be held in Brazil - a record for the competition.

The tickets went on sale yesterday for Visa card owners and quickly sold out in just 24 hours as fans eagerly snapped up seats for the competition.

The most popular tickets were for the opening game in Brasilia on 15 June, 2013 and also the final at the Maracanã on 30 June.

More tickets will be made available to the public on 3 December, which is reserved for local residents.

The draw for the competition will be made on 1 December as Brazil faces the likes of Spain, Mexico, Italy, Uruguay, Japan and Tahiti.

There will also be an African representative, to be decided at the African Cup of Nations in February.

Phillips heads Jamaica training camp roster

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Jamaica Football Federation announced Thursday that 24 players have been selected for training in advance of the 2012 Caribbean Cup finals, which will be played next month in Antigua and Barbuda.

Demar Phillips highlights a roster that includes 13 foreign-based performers. The midfielder, 29, plays for Aalesund in Norway and has netted 11 goals in 53 international appearances. His last strike came in a 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over Guatemala last June.

Toronto FC forward Ryan Johnson, who has six career CONCACAF Champions League goals to his credit, is expected to lead the offensive charge. The 27-year-old has 25 caps and scored eight international goals.

An intriguing addition to squad came in the form of 18-year-old Alvas Powell. The Portmore United defender is considered by many to be a rising star and played in two of Jamaica´s three games at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico.

Jamaica has won five Caribbean titles, including the last two. It will begin its title defense on December 8 against French Guyana, before concluding Group B play with games against Martinique (Dec. 10) and Cuba (Dec. 11).

The top four teams in the Caribbean Cup qualify for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Reggae Boyz have qualified for eight of the 11 all-time CONCACAF tournaments.
