Hehe, ja for søren.

Corinthians agree $144m Nike sponsorship deal

Corinthians have agreed a major sponsorship deal with sportswear giants Nike which is set to run until 2022.

The deal is thought to be worth in the region of $144.2m to the club over ten years which replaces the current deal which paid Corinthians $7.9m a year.

Nike has partnered Corinthians and sponsored its kits since 2003 and the partnership is renewed ahead of their entry into the Club World Cup for the first time since 2000.

The $144.2m deal would make it the largest sponsorship in the history of Brazilian football, and comes after Corinthians annouced a new shirt sponsorship deal with Caixa Economica Federal.

The government owned Caixa agreed a deal last month with the club to sponsor its shirt to the tune of $14.9m a year until 2013.

Man Utd targets FC Porto fullback Alex Sandro as Patrice Evra´s replacement -report

Manchester United are reportedly targeting FC Porto´s Brazilian fullback Alex Sandro to replace Patrice Evra according to reports in Brazil.

Gazeta Esportiva reports that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for a replacement for the aging left back and Alex Sandro is the leading contender to fill the vacancy.

The 21-year-old fullback has been in impressive form for FC Porto and earned a call up to the national team earlier this season.

The price tag is quoted as £7.5m, the price FC Porto paid Santos for the fullback and Sandro could join fellow countrymen Anderson and Rafael at the club.

There are already a number of leftbacks at the club with summer signing Alexander Buttner and on-loan youngster Fabio as backup to first choice leftback Patrice Evra.

Hulk: Roberto Carlos tried to convince me to move to Anzhi

Zenit St Petersburg´s Hulk has revealed that Brazil legend Roberto Carlos tried to convince him to move to rivals Anzhi Makhachkala before his eventual move to Russia.

Hulk says that Anzhi´s sporting director had called him whilst he was still at FC Porto but the Seleção star turned down the move in favour of staying in Portugal.

“I had a few conversations with him on the phone and I know his agent as well. Needless to say anything about Carlos, he is a great player and millions of Brazilians consider him their idol.”

“We had a nice talk but I refused to take the challenge. I was not mentally prepared to leave Portugal at that time but the situation changed six months later.

"I held talks with Zenit and became acquainted with the plans of the club, with the infrastructure and agreed. I am still happy to move to St. Petersburg,"

Hulk is one of our 30 nominees for the 2012 Samba Gold Trophy which recognises the best performing Brazilian in Europe this season.

¡Huachipato es campeón!

Huachipato claimed their second ever Primera Division title after defeating Unión Española in a dramatic penalty shoot out after their the second leg finished 3-1. With only minutes left on the clock Unión Española fans thought their team was about to pick up its seventh title before Manuel Villalobos popped up in the 89th minute to send the game to a penalty shoot out.

Both teams started the game nervously as they struggled to string any number of passes together. Huachipato had the first chance to open the scoring with Braian Rodriguez hitting the crossbar after four minutes.

For la furia roja, who went into the second leg with a 3-1 advantage, only Mauro Díaz and Emilio Hernández created chances but they caused no problems for Huachipato goalkeeper Nery Veloso. This all changed on the half hour mark when Dagoberto Currimilla, a former Huachipato player, opened the scoring as he fired home past Veloso.

It didn’t take long for Huachipato to hit back courtesy of a Daniel González free kick seven minutes later before the midfielder put los aceroros ahead two minutes before half time to set up an enthralling second half.

The second half proved to be one of few chances as the quality of play left a lot to be desired and although Huachipato pushed for a decisive goal they rarely challenged the goal of Eduardo Lobos. Just as the match appeared to be heading to its conclusion and Unión Española looked to be crowned champions Manuel Villalobos popped up in the 89th minute to level the tie at 4-all and to send the game to penalties.

The penalty shoot out proved to be a nerve wracking affair with Sebastián Jaime, Mauro Díaz, Eduardo Lobos and Braulio Leal all missing from the spot for Unión Española whilst for Huachipato, goalscorers Manuel Villalobos and Daniel González along with Miguel Aceval. Both teams had chances to win the match before Omar Merlo converted to win the penalty shoot out 3-2.

The title was Huachipato second ever and their first since 1974 and means that they will participate in next year’s Copa Libertadores.

Nei Pandolfo, managing director at Santos, told reporters: "We will not be extending the contracts of these three loan players for a few reasons. They have returned to their home clubs, to their contract owners."

Bernardo returns to Vasco, Fucile to Porto Alegre and Juan heads back to São Paulo for next season.

In other news, José Willian is set to move to Grêmio despite a verbal agreement with Santos and PSG´s Nenê is reported to have had three offers from Brazil, one thought to be from Santos according to reports in France.

Man City target Corinthians´ Paulinho - report

Manchester City are lining up a January raid on Corinthians for midfielder Paulinho according to reports in England.

The Daily Mirror reports that Roberto Mancini wants the Brazilian to bolster the midfield with Gareth Barry and Javi Garcia failing to live up to expectations.

In addition, Yaya Toure is set to leave for the African Cup of Nations, leaving City short of options and Mancini believes that Paulinho could be the answer to his problems.

The midfielder is valued at £12m and has already attracted interest from Chelsea and Inter ahead of Corinthians´ entry into the Club World Cup.

But Manchester City could be constrained by Finacial Fair Play rules which would scupper any move for the midfield dynamo.

The midfielder has impressed for Corinthians in recent seasons and has become an mainstay of the Brazilian midfield alongside Tottenham´s Sandro.

However, the Brazilian has recently insisted that he is happy at Corinthians and has no plans to move away from Brazil.
