Racing venció 2-1 a Boca

MAR DEL PLATA -- Racing le impidió a Boca celebrar completamente la vuelta de Carlos Bianchi como entrenador tras ocho años y medio al vencerlo 2-1 en la segunda fecha del torneo de verano de Mar del Plata.


Gran parte de las 13.500 personas que estuvieron en el estadio José María Minella fueron a ver el primer día del tercer ciclo de Bianchi como entrenador -y cuarto si se incluye su paso como manager- pese a que puso un equipo de suplentes.

Racing se sintió cómodo desde el principio probando, como había anunciado el técnico Luis Zubeldía a Mauro Camoranesi como enganche, a sabiendas de la chance de que Luis Fariña emigre a Rusia.

Y anduvo bien porque cuando Racing logró ganar la pelota en el medio salió rápido, con Hauche enchufado y con Diego Villar conteniendo la vorágine de otras jornadas, aportando más con pases que corridas.

Así Racing se puso en ventaja a los 7 minutos, cuando Erbes y Evangelista fueron al piso a despejar, Villar devolvió rápido a la derecha, y Hauche sin marcador avanzó y cruzó al segundo palo, pegando la pelota en el post y metiéndose en el arco. Con el correr de los minutos Hauche se iba a mostrar como el mejor hombre de la cancha, y el más incisivo.

No tuvo otra vez la compañía de José Sand, al que le cuesta enormemente meterse en juego y solo una vez en cada tiempo el correntino estuvo cerca de marcar, una con remate cruzado en el primer tiempo y otras que le robaron cuando intentó pararla a un metro del arco.

Un error de Saja al intentar despejar un centro de Colazo terminó en los pies de Blandi, quien sirvió a Viatri para que fusile y convierta el empate.

Duró poco también ese resultado porque un pase frontal de Corvalán dejó mal parado al debutante Claudio "Chiqui" Pérez, quien cometió penal a Hauche al ganarle la posición. Saja disparó fuerte al medio para el 2-1.

Racing se sintió cómodo porque con poco le bastó y hasta tuvo algún floreo Fariña cuando entró por Camoranesi, mientras Boca no tuvo juego al no tener hilván entre medios y atacantes.

Justamente Fariña, al igual que Pol Fernández, se fueron expulsados por un par de manoseos.

Boca hizo muy poco, apenas alguna que otra de Viatri, como la única que tuvo en el segundo tiempo con una volea tempranera que Saja controló bien abajo, y algo de Erbes en el medio. Nada más, aunque Bianchi, el hombre de la noche, avisó que solo le interesan los partidos por los puntos.

Flamengo loan Welinton to Russian side Alania

Flamengo have agreed the loan move of defender Welinton to Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz, according to reports on Sunday night.

Welinton, 23, will join Alania for five months with the option of a permanent transfer for €2.5 million (80% ownership) at the end, should he impress.

The Brazilian side will receive approximately €200,000 for the duration of the loan contract.

At Alania, Welinton will link up with another Flamengo youth product in forward Diego Maurício, The "mini Drogba" left for Russia last year after failing to make an impact at first-team level.

Since reaching the senior squad in 2009, under manager Cuca, Welinton has played 149 times for Flamengo, helping to win the 2009 Brasileirão as well as two state championship titles.

Welinton becomes the second Flamengo player to head to Russia in a matter of days, with star striker Vagner Love set to make a return to CSKA Moscow. The Rubro-Negro had been struggling to make impending payments of his transfer fee still owed to the Russian side.

Copa Sudamericano Sub 20: Chile 2-1 Colombia

Chile have secured passage through to the hexagonal phase of the Sudamericano Sub 20 tournament after winning their third straight game as they defeated Colombia 2-1 although for the second time in three games they finished the match with nine players.

Needing only a draw to progress to the hexagonal phase la rojita got off to they start they wanted as Cristián Cuevas’ eighth minute strike took a deflection off a defender that left Colombian goalkeeper Cristián Bonilla completely wrong footed.

Despite coming under some pressure from their opponents it was the Chileans who went into the half time break with a two goal advantage after captain Igor Lichnovsky got on the end of a Bryan Rabello cross in the 33rd minute.

That situation did not change that much in the second half until the 68th minute when goal scorer Cristián Cuevas received his marching orders from referee Carlos Vera after picking up his second yellow card.

Thirteen minutes later Chilean were reduced to nine men for the second time in three games as goalkeeper Dario Melo was adjudged to have brought down Mauricio Cuero in the area. With manager Mario Salas having already made three substitutions, Barnechea striker Franco Ragusa was forced to pull on the gloves. Unfortunately for him he was unable to deny Juan Quintero from the penalty spot as la rojita conceded their first goal of the tournament.

Fortunately for the Chileans they were able to hold out their opponents for the remaining minutes ensure their qualification for the next stage of the competition

Former Juventus defender Lúcio highly motivated to win titles at São Paulo

Former Juventus defender Lúcio has revealed he is highly motivated to win titles at his new club São Paulo.

Lúcio, 34, who returned to play football in Brazil last December after a long career in Europe with Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Inter and Juventus, is determined to help São Paulo, who won the Copa Sul-Americana last year, win more titles this season and believes the success of last year can motivate them to hit greater heights in 2013.

“We know that being an idol of São Paulo, a large Brazilian team, is important, it is the dream of anyone.
