"Vélez me devolvió la confianza"


PUNTA DEL ESTE -- Lucas Pratto aseguró hoy que deseaba quedarse en Vélez Sarsfield porque el club le devolvió "la confianza" y lo hizo sentir "nuevamente importante", en el marco de la pretemporada que el elenco de Ricardo Gareca realiza en Punta del Este, Uruguay.

"Vélez me dio muchas cosas, me devolvió la confianza, me hizo sentir importante de nuevo y por eso me quería quedar", expresó a Télam el delantero, que se sumó dos días más tarde a los entrenamientos en la ciudad balnearia oriental debido a que se demoró la resolución de su continuidad en el club.

Pratto, de 24 años, jugó a préstamo durante 2012 en el `Fortín` y este año debía regresar a Genoa de Italia, dueño de su pase, pero tras varias conversaciones, finalmente ambas entidades llegaron a un acuerdo para ponerle fin a una de las `novelas` del verano.

"Genoa es un club complicado, difícil para negociar, y que, como diríamos en nuestra jerga, siempre quieren tener la pelota", señaló.

El atacante firmó un nuevo vínculo por tres años y su ficha fue comprada en un 100 por ciento por Vélez, que según trascendió pagó unos 2,5 millones de dólares.

"Estoy muy contento por haber cerrado", comentó el `Gordo`, que así le gusta que lo apoden, luego de la práctica matutina realizada en el predio Solanas de Punta del Este.

"Lo que más contento me puso fue que mis compañeros dijeron que me necesitaban, que me extrañaban, y eso a nivel persona hace muy bien porque indica que hice las cosas bien, más allá de lo futbolístico", añadió.

Sin embargo, Pratto reconoció que en algún momento tuvo "la idea de que iba a tener que volver a Genoa" y que luego una vez en el club italiano vería "si había que buscar otro club".

"Uno sabe que en su país está mejor que en cualquier parte del mundo", agregó el atacante que también tuvo un paso por Universidad Católica de Chile y sabe lo que significa militar en el extranjero teniendo lejos a la familia.

Vélez afrontará durante el próximo semestre una triple competencia con la Copa Libertadores, el Torneo Final y la Copa Argentina, y Pratto se mostró confiado después de haberse coronado recientemente en el certamen Inicial.

"Va a ser difícil pero podemos afrontar las tres competiciones. El técnico sigue confiando en nosotros y eso ratifica que hicimos las cosas bien. Sabemos que día a día vamos a jugar mejor porque nos conocemos cada vez mas", manifestó.

Además, Pratto tuvo palabras de elogio para su compañero Franco Razzotti, quien vuelve a estar en condiciones de jugar luego de más de un año de inactividad por diferentes lesiones: "Cuando veía a Razzotti por tele era un crack, ahora que entrenamos juntos más", enfatizó.

Para cerrar, el delantero platense aseguró querer quedarse mucho tiempo en el club de Liniers.

"Tenés todas las comodidades, un gran grupo, cuerpo técnico y equipo médico, y si a eso se le suman los resultados hacen un combo para quedarte siempre en el club. Si también le sumo la confianza es un lugar hermoso para jugar", señaló.

We should see those two start tonight’s match, especially with news that Robert Piris da Motta suffered an injury in training and won’t be available for selection.

Chile have announced they will rest players for this game, they have already qualified for the final round so want to recuperate fully before the Hexagonal final starts on Sunday. The albirrojitos will be happy if they don’t have to defend against players like Nicolás Castillo of Universidad Católica who has scored two already. The suspension of Cristian Cuevas is also good news, the O’Higgins midfielder’s absence could allow more space for Almirón to find his strikers.

Willians aiming high with Internacional

Udinese midfielder Willians has arrived in Porto Alegre to begin his six month loan spell with Internacional, hoping to get his career back on track after a difficult start to life in Italy.

Willians, 26, left Flamengo for Udinese last summer, but managed just three league starts for the Friuli side after question marks over his professionalism.

Renowned for his combativeness at the base of the midfield, the 2009 Brasileirão winner does not believe that he will need time to readapt to life in Brazil and hopes to fill the void left by the recently departed Pablo Guiñazú at the club.

"I think it´s a good comparison," Willians told Rádio Gaúcha on arrival at the airport. "Guiñazú is a great player. I´m looking to have my space here in the team.

"I don´t think I will have any problems adapting, nobody forgets things from one hour to the next. I´ll train, prepare with the group and soon be on the field to help my teammates and win titles."

Metalist re-sign former star Jajá for €11 million

Ukranian Super League side Metalist have moved quickly to replace the recently departed Taison, returning former star Jajá to Kharkiv.

Jajá, 26, spent two years with the club between 2008-10, before moving on to Turkish side Trabzonspor for a €4.2 million fee.

Most recently of Al-Ahli in Dubai, who he joined €4.5 million in June 2011, Jajá failed to settle in the the Middle East, spending the 2012 season on loan at Internacional in Brazil.

Now, though, having been thought to be heading on loan to Turkish side Kayserispor, he will rejoin his former club for a fee of approximately €11 million.

"I´m happy to be returning to Metalist," Jajá told the club´s official website. "I feel like it hasn´t been long since I was here for the first time.

"I have many friends at the club. I know Edmar, Fininho and all the other Brazilians and Argentines at the club. It will be a pleasure to play here once again."
