Jeg har også altid været fascineret af opgøret imellem Penarol og Nacional. Den passion og historie der omgiver det opgør, er helt unikt. Penarol har traditionelt klaret sig lidt bedre, både nationalt og internationalt end Nacional, men de ligger ret tæt på hinanden, når man kigger på vundne titler.

Yeps det er 2 af de allerstørste klubber traditionelt og trofæmæssigt på verdensplan på linje med River,Boca, Milan, Real Madrid, Inter, Bayern Munchen etc....

Pékerman recibió en Uruguay el premio como mejor DT de América

Montevideo, 16 de enero de 2013.- El entrenador de la selección Colombia, José Pékerman, recibió en Uruguay el premio que entrega el diario El País al mejor entrenador de América, es la primera vez que el entrenador argentino gana este galardón.

Pékerman no había podido ir en días pasados a la gala que condecoró a Neymar como el mejor jugador de América, y en la cual se le iba a entregar a él este premio como el mejor director técnico del continente. José estaba en Argentina acompañando y viendo los primeros partidos de la selección Colombia Sub-20 en el Sudamericano de la categoría.

Pero este miércoles en un conocido hotel de la capital uruguaya el entrenador recibió su premio, Pékerman aprovechó para entregar unas breves declaraciones: “He sido siempre respetuoso de las menciones, y de todos los candidatos, pero a medida que se iba acercando la fecha, las tendencias mostraban que podía ser finalista, y al lograrlo es una satisfacción muy grande y recibir un premio de esta categoría es doblemente importante”:

El director técnico de la selección Colombia derrotó en la votación final a Oscar Tabárez (seleccionador de Uruguay), Alejandro Sabella (seleccionador de Argentina), Tité (DT de Corinthians), Luis Fernando Tena (DT selección olímpica de México), Jorge Sampaoli (Exentrenador de la U. de Chile) y Ricardo Gareca (DT de Vélez Sarsfield).

Semanas atrás Pékerman ya había sido condecorado por la Conmebol por sus logros como entrenador de la selección Sub-20 de Argentina, con la cual ganó tres mundiales de la categoría.

Como seleccionadores de Colombia ya habían ganado este premio Francisco Maturana en 1993 y Hernán Darío Gómez en 1996, mientras que Luis Fernando Montoya lo ganó en el 2004 cuando era entrenador del Once Caldas.

Grêmio strikers Marcelo Moreno and Willian José have welcomed the arrival of Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas from Napoli and the increased competition that he will bring to the squad.

Vargas, 23, signed for Grêmio on loan this week with a view to a permanent deal after weeks of speculation and he will now have to fight with Kleber and André Lima, as well as Moreno and José, for a place in Vanderlei Luxemburgo’s team.

“Vargas is a great player, he will certainly help us,” Willian José, who signed from São Paulo last month, told Globo Esporte.

“I think his arrival will cause Vanderlei to not play with two strikers. He likes a striker with speed. We will then have a good competition.”

Vargas joined Napoli from Universidad de Chile last January but failed to adapt to life in Europe and decided to move back to South America to get his career back on track.

But for Moreno, who spent a spell on loan in England with Wigan, the most important thing is that whoever is chosen to play by the coach gives his all to the cause.

“Regardless of who plays they must give their best. Who is happy about it will be the fans, so the club wins. I´ll keep working, respecting everyone. It is quiet a fight.”

Tottenham midfielder Sandro undergoes surgery on knee and ready to start recovery

Tottenham midfielder Sandro has undergone knee surgery after suffering a cruciate ligament and meniscus injury against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Sandro, 23, has been in great form for the North London club this season, forming a great understanding with new signing Moussa Dembele, and has played a key part in helping Andre Vilas-Boas’s team to fourth in the Premier League table.

However, the injury he suffered at Loftus Road is likely to keep him out for the rest of the season and, after surgery in Barcelona, is ready to start his recovery straight away.

“It´s a tricky time, I had a good run, evolving with the team this season,” the former Internacional midfielder told reporters.

“But it happened and cannot think about it for a long time. I know there are thousands who admire me and support me and I can only thank the messages of affection I have received these past few days.

“This will give me more strength to overcome, make a good recovery and return to play football.”

Sandro has also established himself in the Brazil national team, winning 16 caps so far, and was expected to be called up next month when new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari announces his first squad ahead of the friendly against England at Wembley.

Bayern Munich defender Dante excited at the appointment of Pep Guardiola for next season

Bayern Munich defender Dante has revealed his excitement at the appointment of Pep Guardiola as the Bavarian giants new coach from next season, but admitted he will be sad to see current coach Jupp Heynckes leave the club.

Dante, 29, was signed by Heynckes last summer after three successful years with Borussia Moenchengladbach, but the Brazilian welcomes the appointment of the former Barcelona coach.

“I had two different reactions because while that Guardiola is coming, who is leaving,” he told Globo Esporte.

“It was Heynckes who brought me. He is helping me to progress and giving me confidence to play. But knowing that Guardiola is coming, kills any anxiety.

“What he does to assemble a team with the ball like Barcelona and how we will be playing together with a coach of worldwide reputation.”

Guardiola surprised everybody by choosing to sign a three-year contract with Bayern, with many expecting him to head to the Premier League. But Dante believes he has made the correct choice.

“I welcome him, of course, wish good luck and I´m sure that this group will not disappoint him.

“We will open our arms to him and do everything so he can do a great job in winning the titles in Europe and the world.

“The structure of Bayern is incomparable. Of course, in terms of staff, Barca has irreplaceable players like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, but here we have a lot of quality players: Ribery, Robben, Muller, Lahm ... are many world-class players. I think he will not have much work to impose his style.”

Nacional (U) contrata a Juan Albín


CORNELLÁ DE LLOBREGAT -- El centrocampista hispano-uruguayo Juan Albín deja el Espanyol y hace las maletas rumbo al Nacional de Montevideo, según ha informado la página web oficial del club charrúa esta mañana.

La entidad blanquiazul, por su parte, aún no ha confirmado la noticia pero se esperaba que lo haga en las próximas horas. De hecho, el propio entrenador Javier Aguirre ha reconocido que el jugador le ha pedido no entrar en la convocatoria ya que ha estado preparando su marcha durante la semana.

El centrocampista tiene contrato hasta 2016 con el Espanyol y considera que debe disponer de minutos para seguir creciendo como profesional.

Juan Albín conoce bien el Nacional de Montevideo, club en el que militó de 2002 a 2006 y se formó como futbolista antes de dar el salto a la Liga española.

El jugador llegó al Espanyol en la temporada 2011-12 procedente del Getafe, aunque las lesiones le han impedido mantener la continuidad necesaria para hacerse un hueco en el equipo.

En este último curso, Albín ha disputado siete partidos de Liga y uno de Copa del Rey y ha marcado un gol, ante el Real Madrid.

Seguridad para el clásico rosarino


ROSARIO -- Más de quinientos efectivos policiales estarán afectados específicamente al operativo de seguridad para el clásico rosarino entre Rosario Central y Newell´s Old Boys, que se desarrollará el domingo venidero en el Gigante de Arroyito, sin público visitante.

El Ministerio de Seguridad de la Provincia de Santa Fe, a través de la Unidad Regional II, departamento Rosario, informó que el operativo de seguridad diagramado para el encuentro futbolístico del próximo domingo entre Newell´s y Rosario Central, en el Gigante de Arroyito, contará con un gran número de efectivos policiales y una gran cantidad de motos, patrulleros y el helicóptero de la Provincia para el desarrollo del evento deportivo.

El dispositivo de seguridad estará destinado a realizar tareas de prevención y patrullaje tanto en la zona del estadio -que tendrá 500 efectivos asignados-, como en diversos puntos de la ciudad, donde también habrá otro importante número de agentes afectados.

Con respecto a estos encuentros futbolísticos (20 y el 27 de enero), el secretario de Seguridad Pública, Matías Drivet, recordó que "se realizarán en el marco de un contrato rubricado oportunamente entre la empresa organizadora y ambos clubes".

En ese sentido, Drivet afirmó que "la empresa hizo todas las evaluaciones pertinentes y tomó la decisión de efectuar el partido sin público visitante; que nos pareció la más apropiada".

Chelsea linked Paulinho: New agent doesn´t mean European move

Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has insisted that his recent change of agent does not indicate that he is looking to move abroad, despite his new management´s well-known connections with Premier League giants Chelsea.

Paulinho, 24, is now represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, one of the biggest and most famous agents in Brazil. Known for his contacts in Europe, Bertolucci´s clients include Chelsea-owned trio Oscar, David Luiz and Lucas Piazon, as well as former-Blue Alex.

The Corinthians midfielder, though, insists that it will be he who ultimately decides his own fate.

"He is working in partnership with Pão de Açúcar (owner of Audax-SP, who own 50% of Paulinho´s economic rights)," the player told Globo Esporte. "There is no interference for me at all. He is a great agent who has made big deals, but we are just working in partnership. It´s just to help me, not so I can leave Brazil.

"I have learned one thing: the player has the final word. So, if Giuliano or anyone brings me a proposal, I will have the final say.

"I have not received calls from anyone. In my career, everything has always happened naturally. I will stay here and play.

"If there is a proposal, I will be the first to come here and talk to you. However, my thought is to stay and achieve great success and give continuity to my work."
