Pato: Corinthians supporters are the best in Brazil

New signing Alexandre Pato says Corinthians supporters are the best in Brazil after joining from AC Milan in a €15m deal.

Pato arrives in Brazil after five years with the Serie A giants which ended in ingominy after a series of injuries.

"I´m very happy to have returned to Brazil to join Corinthians. I chose the club for its structure, which is phenomenal, the fans who are the best in Brazil," he told the press.

"It is similar to Milan, the only difference is that the equipment here is newer, but, both clubs are great.

"Everyone has been great. They have welcomed me with great affection and open arms. Everyone here, the players and the club, are all doing the best for Corinthians."

The 23-year-old is still recovering from an existing problem picked up prior to his move, though he is hoping to make a return sooner rather than later.

"I do not want to make a prediction as to when I´ll be fit again. I am working and improving every day and I am happy with my work. Soon I intend to be playing," he continued.

"I hope my debut is amazing. In the meantime I will be supporting the team as much as possible. When on the field, I will try and win the affection of the club´s faithful."

Marcelo and Kaká dropped from Real squad to face Valencia

Kaká has been left out of Jose Mourinho´s squad to face Valencia in their La Liga clash as a result of his red card against Osasuna last weekend.

The playmaker is currently in negotiations with AC Milan over a loan deal although talks seem to have stalled over the Brazilian´s wage demands.

Marcelo is also another big name Brazilian to be left out after making his comeback in the Copa del Rey clash against Valencia earlier this week.

Mourinho is believed to have told the left back to improve his fitness in training before being handed a starting berth.

The injured Pepe and Sergio Ramos, who is suspended, will also not be travelling with the team to face Valencia at the Mestalla.

Real Madrid currently lie in third, 18 points behind rivals Barcelona although that could be closed down to 15 after the Catalan giants lost 3-2 away to Real Socidad last night.

QPR looking to offload Julio Cesar - report

QPR are looking to sell Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar as the club seeks to cut down an enormous wage bill according to reports in England.

The club are also listening to offers for former England international Rob Green as they only want to offload one goalkeeper.

According to The Daily Mirror, Cesar is earning £78,000 a week while Green is on less at £50,000 a week.

QPR believe they cannot afford to pay such wages to two goalkeepers and therefore one will be leaving in this transfer window if a suitable offer comes in.

New manager Harry Redknapp has alternated using both keepers, although he called Cesar last week ´world class´.

Cesar also hinted at a return to Brazil earlier this month in an interview with TV Globo: "I had this idea fixed in my mind of leaving Brazilian football. It was in the spur of the moment.

"I think I was very unhappy leaving. I still think about playing in Brazil, if I get the chance. Why not?"

Kenny Dalglish had scouted the young star at Bordeaux, and requested the chairman Jack Walker to begin discussions with the player’s club. He refused, and famously said, “Why do you want to sign Zinedine Zidane when we have Tim Sherwood?”

Grêmio loanee Eduardo Vargas: I lost confidence playing for Napoli

Grêmio loanee Eduardo Vargas has revealed that he "lost confidence" while playing for Napoli.

The 23-year-old, who was given a hero’s welcome at Grêmio, had a very successful career in South America, representing Cobreloa and Universidad de Chile.

However, Vargas failed to settle into life in Italy following his move last January and has subsequently joined the Brazilian outfit on a season-long loan.

Vargas said: "I had a good career in Chile, now I want to repeat that in Brazil and become one of the best players in the Copa Libertadores.

"I was not happy in Italy. I didn’t feel good on my debut and played badly, then I lost my confidence and was never able to play consistently."

Vargas managed 19 league appearances without a goal, though he did score a hat-trick in the Europa League.

The Chile international also revealed that Brazil U-20 captain Bruno Uvini recommended the move to him.

He added: "It was my Napoli teammate Bruno Uvini who recommended Grêmio to me.

"He told me all about this city, how relaxed it was and how playing for Grêmio would be good for me."
