Cláusula de prioridad por Centurión

BUENOS AIRES -- Racing Club pretende disponer de una cláusula de prioridad para el caso de que el mediocampista creativo Ricardo Centurión decida en el futuro dejar el Anzhi ruso para regresar al fútbol argentino, precisó este martes el vicepresidente primero de la Academia, Rodolfo Molina.

"Estamos analizando que si el jugador vuelve a Argentina y no elije Racing, ese otro club pague un plus por el pase", admitió Molina, en declaraciones para la Rock and Pop.

Acusan a jugador de Perú

MENDOZA -- El jugador de la selección peruana de fútbol sub´20 Max Barrios en realidad se llama Juan Carlos Espinosa Mercado, es ecuatoriano y tiene más de 20 años, aseguró a EFE Víctor Mestanza, jefe de prensa de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (FEF).

El aparente fraude fue alertado por un futbolista ecuatoriano durante un encuentro con la selección de Perú en el Campeonato Sudamericano de la categoría, que se disputa en Argentina.

"Durante el partido entre Ecuador y Perú por el Sudamericano Sub´20 en Argentina uno de los seleccionados locales identificó al jugador, por lo que de inmediato se presentó la denuncia", precisó Mestanza.

Ante el hecho, los directivos de la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (Conmebol) pidieron a la Federación de Ecuador que formalizara la denuncia, "y eso se hizo de inmediato", explicó Mestanza, quien dijo que el jugador consta en los registros de la FEF como Espinosa Mercado.

Según esos registros, Espinosa Mercado nació en 1987 en la ciudad ecuatoriana de Machala, "por lo que tampoco tiene 20 años, sino más", añadió Mestanza.

Espinosa Mercado militó como ecuatoriano en el club Liga de Loja entre el año 2004 y 2007 como juvenil, y su última actuación fue en el año 2010 con el mismo club como futbolista de la categoría mayor o absoluta.

Juventus set to raise offer for Botafogo defender Dória - Report


Italian giants Juventus are reported to have raised their offer for Botafogo centre-back Dória and hope to seal a deal for him this weekend.

Dória, 18, is one of the hottest young talents to emerge from the Brazilian game in the last 12 months and, despite his tender years, has quickly become a regular for Botafogo.

Juventus have been following the defender for a number of months and had a number of bids rejected by the Rio de Janeiro club last year and then seemed to move onto other targets.

But Brazilian football website Futnet are reporting that they have reignited their interest in the player by bidding €8million and claim that Botafogo directors believe the deal could go through this coming weekend.

The deal could be complicated by the fact that Botafogo only own 40% of the player, with the remaining belonging to a number of investors.

Dória is now back training with Botafogo after being part of the Brazil under-20 side that were knocked out of the South American under-20 championship last week.

Nicolás Lodeiro says he is willing to fight for a place at Botafogo


Uruguayan midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro says he is willing to fight for a place at Botafogo this season.

Lodeiro, 23, signed for the Rio de Janeiro club last year after leaving Dutch giants Ajax and believes he is now well adjusted to Brazilian football and promises to perform much better this season.

“I think it has everything to be a much better year and more productive, I am working on it,” he told Lancenet!

“I do not know if it really will be better, the same or worse, what I know is that I´m working hard to make it better. Things do not happen by themselves, but I´m doing my best. I want to be good for Botafogo, not just myself.”

And the midfielder has welcomed the return of Clarence Seedorf to the club for his second year with Botafogo.

“It´s good to have a guy like Seedorf for the team. We are waiting for his return.

“The year is long and we will be jockeying for position so this is healthy. If someone has to be on the bench it will not be a problem, you have to fight, focus on your work and come out on top.”

Marcos Assunção: I deeply respect Palmeiras, but now my life is Santos


Marcos Assunção says he still has a deep respect for his former club Palmeiras, but is now concentrating on doing his best for Santos.

Assunção, 36, left the relegated São Paulo giants in December after failing to agree terms on a new deal, but the midfielder is delighted to be back at Santos for his third spell at the club.

“In recent years, I lived for Palmeiras,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“I worked and I gave a lot, always doing my best to keep people happy. When you live for almost three years with people, you take care, you spend more time with them than with your family.

“I never hid that I was a supporter of Santos, but that affection (for Palmeiras) will not disappear, because I like the people, the club and the fans.

“But let bygones be bygones. Last year, it did not work, unfortunately, but I have already spoken about it. I deeply respect (Palmeiras), but now my life is Santos.

The former Real Betis star admitted that he will keep his eye on how Palmeiras are doing but one he is on the pitch he will concentrate on his job for Santos.

“I saw the Santos game (against São Bernardp) on Saturday, and on Sunday, I watched the Palmeiras game with my son.

“The important thing is that when I put the shirt on to play, I forget the rest. I´m very good at it, I know how to separate things.

“In the field, with the crowd screaming, I forget everything. It is a new phase in my life, and I want to defend Santos.

“This (facing my former club) already happened in Spain, Dubai ... It´s my job. It´s Santos that today is the joy of my family, then that is Santos I have to respect.”

Manchester United and Arsenal send scouts to watch QPR keeper Julio César


Manchester United and Arsenal have both sent scouts to watch QPR‘s Julio César as they look to solve their goalkeeper woes.

César, 33, has been in outstanding form for QPR since joining from Inter in the summer, so much so that he has earned a recall to the Brazilian national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari for the Seleção’s friendly against England at Wembley next month.

Manchester United have constantly rotated their keepers this season, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson not convinced by either Anders Lindegaard or David De Gea, and are now looking to the experienced Brazilian to solve their problems.

Arsenal have been looking for an experienced keeper for a while to provide competition for the Polish number one Wojciech Szczesny, and had previously looked at Swansea’s Michel Vorm.

However, Arsene Wenger appears to be losing faith in Szczesny, whose development seems to have stalled, and could be tempted to go back in for César after showing interest in him during the summer.

César spent seven year with Inter, winning five Serie A titles and the Champions League, but shocked the football world when he moved to Loftus Road at the beginning of the season, not just for choosing QPR but also because Rangers had signed Robert Green just weeks earlier.

Now QPR are hoping to sell one of their two keepers to ease their wage bill, despite the fact that César’s superb performances in recent weeks.

Ronaldinho: I will give everything for the Seleção

Ronaldinho Gaúcho has vowed to ´give everything´ he has for Brazil and Luiz Felipe Scolari after the former Barcelona star earned a surprise call up to the Seleção for the friendly clash against England.

The Atlético Mineiro playmaker has been out of the squad for more than a year but will now take his place in the line up for the game at Wembley on February 6.

"What I can say is that I will give everything I have to respond to what Felipao asks of me," Ronaldinho told reporters at Atlético´s Belo Horizonte training base on Tuesday.

"I´m so happy to be back in the national team especially now when we are so close to the World Cup. I want to thank everybody at Atletico, from the coaching staff to the people who work in the kitchen and especially the fans.

"Everything that happened to me last year was very important, it made me happy and it was reflected in the way I played."
