Racing venció a River y festejó

MAR DEL PLATA -- MAR DEL PLATA, ene 24 (DyN) - Racing derrotó a River Plate por 2-1 y se quedó con la Copa Centenario de la Liga Marplatense después de 90 minutos en los que el perdedor fue superior al conjunto de Luis Zubeldía, pero no supo capitalizar ese dominio en el marcador.

Gabriel Hauche, el jugador del verano, abrió la cuenta a los 3 minutos aprovechando un grosero error de Luciano Abecasis, pero cuatro minutos más tarde Ariel Rojas, con un golazo de chilena, marcó el empate con el que se cerró al primera etapa.

A los 3 del segundo tiempo, Hauche, esta vez con un cabezazo que venció la débil resistencia de Leandro Chichizola, le puso cifras definitivas al encuentro y le dio a la Academia la primera alegría del 2013.

Los 45 minutos iniciales fueron de River, que hizo prácticamente todo, hasta facilitarle las cosas a Racing para que abriera el marcador

Corrían apenas 3 minutos cuando Luciano Abecasis, desde mitad de cancha, mandó un pase atrás sin destino y la pelota le quedó servida a Hauche, quien anticipó a Esteban Espíndola y le "picó" la pelota a Leandro Chichizola para poner el 1-0.

River tardó apenas cuatro minutos en igualar las cosas. Un centro de Daniel Villalva desde la izquierda cruzó toda el área y le quedó a Abecasis por el otro sector. El rosarino no demoró en habilitar a Rojas y el ex Godoy Cruz, con una chilena impresionante, doblegó a Jorge De Olivera y equilibró las cosas.

De ahí hasta el final del segmento River fue muy superior, al menos hasta el área. Villalva y Rojas desnivelaron una y otra vez por el sector derecho de la defensa de Racing y Abecasis, ya superado su error inicial, se afirmaba por la otra banda.

¿Racing? No encontraba la pelota y apenas pudo lanzar una contra que terminó con un centro de Hauche, que no pudo neutralizar Chichizola pero sí Leandro González Pírez, quien despejó el peligro.

River, que no tuvo claridad en los metros finales, llegó dos veces más. A los 37, con un disparo de Ezequiel Cirigliano de afuera del área que De Olivera sacó al corner y a los 39 con un disparo de Rojas que pegó en Pillud y se fue al corner.

Racing sorprendió nuevamente en el inicio de la segunda mitad y se puso en ventaja con otro gol de Hauche, quien con un cabezazo volvió a marcar ante la floja respuesta de Chichizola.

Un minuto más tarde, Manuel Lanzini, ingresando al área por derecha, sacó un disparo cruzado que pegó en el poste, negándole al Millonario la posibilidad de un empate que, como mínimo, merecía.

Siguió insistiendo River de ahí hasta el final del encuentro, pero con el correr de los minutos Racing se fue consolidando más de mitad de cancha hacia atrás y le fue cerrando los caminos a su rival. A los 34, lo tuvo Federico Andrada, el goleador histórico de las inferiores riverplatenses, pero perdió ante el achique de De Olivera.

River buscó hasta el final pero no pudo quebrar a un adversario que creció en defensa en la parte complementaria. Y Racing, sin hacer demasiado, terminó festejando el primer título del año.

BUENOS AIRES -- El mediocampista de Boca Juniors Cristian Pochi Chávez está cerca de convertirse en el segundo refuerzo de Lanús para afrontar con el equipo de Guillermo Barros Schelotto el Torneo Final 2013.

"Hoy (jueves) hablamos con el representante de Chávez y habíamos charlado con Angelici, pero no hay nada definido", informó el presidente de Lanús, Alejandro Marón, por Radio La Red.

Por su parte, el titular boquense, Daniel Angelici se mostró optimista con la negociación y espera poder llegar a un acuerdo a la brevedad.

"Estamos hablando con el presidente de Lanús y confío que en los próximos días se pueda terminar de hacer. El jugador sería 50 por ciento de Boca y 50 por ciento de Lanús", comentó el empresario.

De esta manera, y de no mediar imponderables, Lanús tendrá en Pochi Chávez a su segundo refuerzo, ya que anteriormente había llegado el delantero Ismael Blanco.

Corinthians demand €18m from Inter for Paulinho - report

Corinthians are reportedly demanding €18m from Inter for the services of dynamic midfielder Paulinho according to reports in Italy.

Sky Sport Italia suggest Inter are going to immediately reinvest money from selling fellow Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho in their offer for Paulinho.

Coutinho is attracting interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Southampton and Inter are waiting to see the outcome of the auction before moving for Paulinho.

This comes after reports that the San Siro outfit made an offer of €15m for the Brazilian in order to replace playmaker Wesley Sneijder who left the club for Galatasaray.

However, club president Massimo Moratti insists any move would need to meet with the club´s newly imposed financial constraints as they bid to keep in line with UEFA´s Financial Fair Play regulations.

"One step at a time,” the Inter president stated following the confirmation of Sneijder´s exit. “We´ve just done this, let´s now see what we need to do.

"A player like that, with his attributes, is always useful but the cost does come into it.”

Scolari: Neymar is not a diver

Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has lashed out at critics who claim that Neymar dives too much, saying that the Santos star deals well with the rough treatment he gets in Brazil.

In an interview with Sports Ministry, Scolari defended Neymar and spoke out over his squad selection for their friendly against England in two weeks time.

"As a player who dribbles well and is lightweight, he suffers many fouls. He does not simulate and keeps on playing."

Scolari also justified the absence of Kaka for their clash against England on February 6: "Players who are not called, will have to try harder.

"Players who are called have to have the dedication to stay in the squad. The intention is that good players will always have a chance.

"I am spoiled with many good players, and it´s up to me to make the choice. It will be done as I think should be done.

Liverpool and Southampton in bidding war for Coutinho - report

Liverpool and Southampton are locked in a bidding war for Inter´s Brazilian starlet Phillipe Coutinho according to reports in Italy.

It was reported on Thursday that Southampton had bidded €10.2m for the forward but Coutinho is known to prefer Liverpool as a destination.

However, the Reds are reported to have bidded just €9m for Coutinho which was rejected by Inter.

Coutinho is also said to prefer staying at Inter than move to the south coast, leaving Liverpool as his only possible destination unless another club comes in for the player.

Liverpool are said to be refusing to raise their bid above the €9m already reported and this could impact Inter´s move for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.

Corinthians are reportedly demanding £18m for the player with Inter hoping to raises the funds from Coutinho´s sale.

Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that Inter have given both clubs 48 hours to complete any deal for Coutinho.

FC Porto seal Liedson loan move

FC Porto have completed the loan signing of 35-year-old Flamengo striker Liedson.

Liedson, who previously played in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, will join his teammates at the Estadio do Dragão until the end of the season.

The striker, who took Portuguese citizenship and represented Portugal 14 times at international level from 2009 until 2010, returned to his homeland in 2011, initially with Corinthians.

The striker scored five goals in 22 appearances for Flamengo last season, in what was a disappointing season for the club as they finished seventh.

Liedson spent eight years with Sporting from 2003 to 2011, scoring 116 goals in 214 appearances for the club.

The forward also took Portuguese citizenship and appeared 14 times for Portugal, scoring four goals

Real Madrid have made QPR´s Julio Cesar their primary target as they look to sign a new goalkeeper according to reports in England.

Los Blancos captain Iker Casillas suffered a hand injury that will rule the Spaniard out for up to two months and coach Jose Mourinho is moving quickly to secure another goalkeeper as a replacement.

The Daily Mail reports that QPR keeper Cesar has emerged as the first choice target after a series of impressive displays at Loftus Road.

The newspaper claims that Real would prefer to take the Brazilian on loan, but Cesar has demanded that any move should be permanent.

This move would also be a boon for QPR´s finances, as they look to reduce the wage bill and are known to be keen to offload either the Brazilian or fellow goalkeeper Rob Green.

São Paulo midfielder Ganso confident of making Brazil’s Confederations Cup squad

São Paulo midfielder Ganso was left out of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s first Brazil squad since his return as national team coach for the friendly against England next month, but the young playmaker is confident of forcing himself into Brazil’s Confederations Cup squad later this year.

Ganso, 23, signed for São Paulo last September from Santos but is yet to establish himself in Ney Franco’s side due to a number of injuries, and has now fallen below Oscar as favourite for the Brazil number 10 jersey.

However, he is confident that once he gets a run of games he will soon be back to his best.

“Give me time and I will be there,” he told Globo Esporte.

“Now, let me do what I know on the pitch in order to return to the Brazilian national team.

“I have to get back to playing well to return to the squad. Scolari has his eye on all the games and we have to show our talent.”
