Realistisk set har Samba ret, FLA-FLU er det største i Rio, det er jo kampen mellem faderen (FLU) og sønnen (FLA) ...om elskerinden (Rio) ...poetisk og passioneret skrevet...og - den type relationer - der gør at Latinamerikansk fodbold er og vil være niveauet over Europæisk...

Men er det ikke korrekt at sige at Fla-Flu er det største opgør i Rio på grund af den politiske historie?, imens man kan argumentere for at Fla-Vasco er det største opgør, fordi det er i det opgør der er bedst stemning?

Jeg kan forstå han er lidt af en ballademager. Anzhi Makhachkala interested in signing Real Madrid star Kaká – Report

Anzhi Makhachkala are said to be interested in ending Brazilian star Kaká’s Real Madrid hell by taking him to Russia.

Kaká, 31, is out of favour in Madrid and has been told that he can leave the club if the right offer is made. Last week it seemed that he would be heading back to his former club AC Milan but the move broke down.

Now, Spanish newspaper AS is reporting that the Anzhi director of football Roberto Carlos is heading to Madrid to try and convince Kaká that his future is with the Russian club.

Anzhi are an ambitious club and in Suleyman Kerimov they have a wealthy owner who is hoping to invest around €300million to try and win the Uefa Champions League in the coming years.

They have already enticed a world-class coach in Guus Hiddink and a world-class striker in Samuel Et’oo to join, now they are hoping that Kaká will follow.

Botafogo goalkeeper Jefferson happy with improved defensive displays this season

Botafogo goalkeeper Jefferson believes the signing of Bolivar and the return to fitness of Marcelo Mattos have been key in their improved defensive performances so far this season.

Jefferson, 30, has conceded just one goal in three games so far this season and is delighted with the team’s performances, especially in the 1-1 draw with Fluminense at the weekend, a game which the keeper believes they should have won.

“The defence is good, especially with the arrival of Bolivar, an experienced guy, a leader, and the return of Marcelo Mattos also," he told Lancnet!

“We are not conceding goals and we will sort things out up front, because we have quality players.

“The only result we did not expect was the draw with Bangu. In the next three games we have to win. Against Fluminense, we deserved, we tried from start to finish, but it was a classico.”

Jefferson also believes that there is a new feeling in the team, one that will no longer settle for second best.

“Before, if we were playing against Corinthians, for example, we thought the draw was a good result. Today is different. Against Fluminense, we were upset.

“It must be so, we want to play the Libertadores. We cannot play the championships as we did before. It is not normal.”

Atlético Mineiro star Bernard looking forward to playing in the Mineirão

Atlético Mineiro star Bernard has revealed he cannot wait to play in the new look Mineirão this season.

Bernard, 20, has been one of the revelation of Brazilian football over the past two years but has yet to play in the Mineirão as a professional, as it has only just reopened after being rebuilt ahead of this year’s Confederations Cup and the World Cup in 2014.

“It will have a totally different feeling. It´s a dream that I will accomplish,” he told Lancenet!

“I hope to leave happy. I always passed in front of the Mineirão and my eyes glistened with the dream of playing there.”

The player admitted that he is still working hard to be ready for the new season, and is hoping to gain some weight to help hold off bigger, stronger opponents.

“I am an athlete who needs a little more weight, because of the players who have a greater height and weight.

“I need to be more upright, have more strength, to have a bigger build, to get faster and help the my teammates on the field.”

Grêmio coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo hopes Santa Maria disaster will inspire his team against LDU

Grêmio coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo hopes that the tragedy in Santa Maria over the weekend will motivate his team to beat LDU on Wednesday in memory of those who lost their lives.

Grêmio had tried to postpone the Copa Libertadores playoff game after the events in Santa Maria, where 230 people died in a fire at a nightclub, but the Ecuadorians refused.

“We need to get engaged with our sense of being Brazilian, our human sensibility,” the coach told SporTV.

“But we already committed to this important game. We cannot let it divert our attention from our problem, which is going through LDU.”

Luxemburgo has still to decide on his team but hopes that Cris and Ze Roberto will recover to play, although Dida is definitely out with a shoulder problem.

“The time to decide is on Wednesday. No sense talking now. We have until then to decide.”

The winner of the tie between Grêmio and LDU (who currently hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg) will secure a spot in Group 8 of the Libertadores and will face Fluminense, Caracas and Huachipato.

FLU/FLA og Fogo udspringer af den samme socialeklasse, hvor Vasco mere er fattig, Sort og portugesisk. Det har så ændret sig lidt siden hen hvor FLA er belevet mere middelklasse, imigranternes klub - de fleste danskere jeg kender som er bosat i Rio er FLA-fans så ...Det er vel så´en lidt :
