U-17 Sudamericano: Paraguay leads its group after defeating Argentina (3-1)

Paraguay´s U-17 team beat Argentina 3-1 on Thursday and now leads Group A of the U-17 Sudamericano. The tournament is played until April 28 in Argentina and gives four berths to the World Cup in the UAE this year.
With the victory Paraguay is on 4 points, followed by Ecuador and Venezuela (3), Colombia (1), and Argentina with zero points after their second consecutive loss.
Antonio Sanabria (9 minutes) opened the scoring for Paraguay while Argentina was able to tie the game on a Santiago López (11 own goal) error.
The second goal also came off the boot of Sanabria (29), who was the man of the match, and Alex Cáceres Méndez (88) closed out the scoring for Paraguay.
Argentina finished with ten players owing to the expulsion of Marcos Astina in the 80th minute. The match was played at the Juan Gilberto Funes stadium in the city of La Punta in San Luis province.
For their part Paraguay was effective in attack, had good mobility in midfield and got outstanding play from their goalkeeper Tomás Echagüe.
The best chances for Argentina came from Leonardo Suárez (Boca Juniors) but he received his second yellow card, he was also shown yellow in the previous match against Ecuador, and like striker Astina he cannot play against Venezuela in the next Group A date on Saturday.
Also receiving yellow cards were Paraguayan Renzo Tandi and Argentinian Lucio Compagnucci.
Paraguay will have their bye-day on Saturday and then will play against Ecuador on Monday.
