Men der er kommet en masse nye spillere til også, plus forventningspresset er jo stort som altid - det ikke ligesom sidste år hvor i kun havde Gauchão at spille om her i foråret, hvor i langtsom kunne spille holdet sammen til Brasileirão, senere. I år har i også Copa libertadores, hvor man skal præstere fra start af - får i hentet det result mod Huachipato, så er der play-off - der kan alt ske - Corinthians, Fluminense og Atletico Mineiro har gjort det fint, Gremio har potentiale til at spille lige op med dem - det skal nok gå...Sã Paulo har langt større problemer end O Tricolor Gaúcho, hvilket jeg syntes er helt fint :-)

Liverpool target Dede "has chosen to join Corinthians" - agent

He has been a recent target for Liverpool, Cruzeiro and AC Milan, but South America-linked agent Sabatino Durante insists that the clubs should forget about securing the signature of Dedé, with Corinthians the player´s choice of future destination.

Talk over the future of Vasco centre-back Dedé has hotted up once more this week, with Corinthians attempting once more to strike a deal for his services. Cruzeiro, too, are attempting to finance a deal.

Vasco are seeking €5 million for the 45 percent of Dedé´s economic rights which they own and, with Corinthians´ good relationship with majority investors DIS, it is thought that it is only the Rio de Janeiro club who present an obstacle to a deal.

Durante is certainly convinced, telling Serie A clubs to give up dreams of securing the defender´s signature.

“Forget about it, the player has chosen to join Corinthians,” he told Radio Marte. “The negotiations for that transfer are at a good point.

“He has great strength and power, but you need more focus to play in Europe. Despite being watched by Milan, Juventus and Napoli, he has decided what step to take. He could evolve into a top player at Corinthians.”

The comments follow those of Dedé´s own agent, Ubiraci Cardoso, earlier this week. Cardozo told UOL: "Dede wants to play the World Cup and stay in Brazil.

"We´ll have more news within the next days. The investors [that own a percentage of Dede´s rights] have good relations with Corinthians and that may help. But there is still some distance before the deal can be made official."

Boca va a San Juan sin Riquelme

BUENOS AIRES -- Boca Juniors viajará mañana a San Juan para enfrentar el sábado a San Martín con mayoría de titulares, pero con cinco ausencias notorias, las de Agustín Orion, Leandro Somoza, Walter Erviti, Juan Román Riquelme y Nicolás Blandi.

Arquero, volante central, volante izquierdo, enganche y centrodelantero, por decisión del director técnico Carlos Bianchi, serán preservados para el encuentro del próximo miércoles frente a Toluca, en México, por la Copa Libertadores de América.

El probable equipo a presentar por Boca en la novena fecha del torneo Final es el siguiente: Oscar Ustari; Christian Cellay, Matías Caruzzo, Guillermo Burdisso, Clemente Rodríguez; Lautaro Acosta, Federico Bravo, Juan Manuel Sánchez Miño; Lucas Viatri; Juan Manuel Martínez y Santiago Silva.

Los otros siete futbolistas designados para viajar a la provincia cuyana mañana a la tarde, después del entrenamiento matutino en el complejo Pedro Pompilio, son Sebastián D´Angelo, Jonathan Castillo, Lisandro Magallán, Guillermo Fernández, Gonzalo Escalante, Nicolás Colazo y Sebastián Palacios.

De la lista se desprende que Burdisso y Palacios superaron sus problemas físicos, las respectivas entorsis de tobillo derecho que habían acusado en los días previos, y están en condiciones de jugar.

El entrenamiento de hoy, dada la lluvia, se llevó a cabo en el Polideportivo Benito Quinquela Martín, bajo techo y sobre piso de parqué, sin acceso para el periodismo.

Continuaron entrenándose de manera diferenciada, en recuperación de sus lesiones, Ribair Rodríguez, Claudio Pérez, Cristian Erbes, Nahuel Zárate, Franco Sosa, Pablo Ledesma y Orlando Gaona Lugo.

Inmediatamente después del partido frente a San Martín, la delegación retornará a Buenos Aires en vuelo chárter.

El domingo el plantel retomará los entrenamientos, y el lunes por la tarde tendrá lugar el viaje hacia México.

San Lorenzo: Pizzi cambia el esquema

BUENOS AIRES -- Tras ocho meses de ausencia por una grave lesión, el enganche Leandro Romagnoli, un histórico de San Lorenzo, iría al banco de suplentes en el clásico del sábado ante Racing, un partido que el equipo necesita ganar para que no se le vuelva "difícil" pelear por el título, según reconoció su técnico, Juan Antonio Pizzi.

El entrenador dijo que es probable que Romagnoli integre el banco y además confirmó que pondrá un dibujo táctico 4-4-2 porque con el sistema 4-2-3-1 les "faltó profundidad".

El probable equipo para recibir a Racing el sábado a las 18.10 sería con: Matías Ibáñez; Gonzalo Prósperi, Pablo Alvarado, Mauro Cetto, Gonzalo Gentiletti; Julio Buffarini, Enzo Kaliski, Juan Mercier, Ignacio Piatti; Franco Jara y Héctor Villalba, Fabián Bordagaray o Gonzalo Verón.

Pizzi reconoció que si no ganan, será "difícil pensar en salir campeón" por "la distancia que te empiezan a sacar y los equipos que se te van poniendo adelante".

San Lorenzo, que lleva dos fechas sin victorias, tiene diez puntos y está a ocho de Lanús, el puntero del torneo Final.

Recuperado de su tercera rotura de ligamentos, esta vez en la rodilla izquierda, Romagnoli figura en la lista de concentrados y Pizzi dijo que "es una posibilidad muy concreta que esté en el banco" ante Racing.

"Su presencia es importante para todos, para los chicos, para los grandes y hasta para el cuerpo técnico... Se ha ganado la referencia en este club en base a lo que es como futbolista y como ser humano", dijo Pizzi en conferencia de prensa.

Sobre el cambio de esquema táctico, que ahora pasará a ser un 4-4-2, Pizzi comentó que se debió a "la falta de profundidad con el 4-2-3-1". "Tratamos de buscar alguna alternativa, liberamos un poco el tema defensivo de Franco (Jara) e hicimos hincapié en ataque con dos delanteros más definidos", explicó Pizzi, quien dijo que mañana definirá si el acompañante del ex Arsenal en la delantera será el juvenil Villalba, Verón "si se recupera de su lesión", o Bordagaray.

River: L. González Pirez se recuperó

BUENOS AIRES -- El defensor de River se recuperó de la "microruptura fibrilar" e integró el equipo titular que paró el entrenador Ramón Díaz en la práctica de fútbol con miras al duelo ante Arsenal.

De este modo, Pirez, autor del primer gol ante Racing, el domingo pasado, seguirá en la zaga central junto al colombiano Eder Alvarez Balanta, por lo que Jonathan Bottinelli, pese a haber cumplido su suspensión, no retornará a la titularidad.

En consecuencia, el único cambio para jugar en el Monumental ante el elenco de Sarandí, sería el regreso de Leonardo Ponzio, quien purgó su sanción, por Carlos Sánchez, en relación al equipo que viene de ganarle a la `Academia´ en Avellaneda (2-0).

Los once que eligió hoy el entrenador para el ensayo de fútbol a puertas cerradas, en el predio de Ezeiza, fueron Marcelo Barovero; Gabriel Mercado, Leandro González Pirez, Alvarez Balanta y Leonel Vangioni; Leonardo Ponzio, Cristian Ledesma y Ariel Rojas; Manuel Lanzini; Carlos Luna y Rogelio Funes Mori.

Tal como sucedió en la práctica del miércoles, el DT la interrumpió muy seguido para dar indicaciones y para hablar seguido con Ponzio, quien por momentos jugó de volante por derecha y en otros se cerró de doble cinco con las subidas de Mercado.

De todos modos y por los dichos de Ramón, la idea es mantener el sistema clásico de 4-3-1-2 con enganche, por lo que Vangioni, al igual que contra Racing, deberá moverse desde el lateral izquierdo y por todo ese carril de la cancha.

En cuanto a la lesión de Pirez, el parte médico oficial de ayer daba cuenta de una lesión muscular en el isquiotibial derecho y desde el cuerpo médico habían asegurado que estaba casi descartado, pero evolucionó muy bien y como clínicamente no mostró dolores, el entrenador no le dio descanso.

Por su parte, Bottinelli, quien ya cumplió con la fecha de suspensión, jugó para los suplentes y su lugar lo seguirá ocupando el colombiano Alvarez, quien se ganó la titularidad luego de la gran actuación frente a Racing.

Eder Alvarez puede jugar porque aún no tiene contrato profesional, pero no bien sume otros siete partidos quedará inhabilitado, pues el club debe contratarlo y automáticamente pasa a ocupar cupo de extranjero, algo que River ya tiene cubierto.

Los internacionales de River son los uruguayos Carlos Sánchez -le están tramitando la doble ciudadanía para que no ocupe cupo- y Rodrigo Mora, el paraguayo Adalberto Román y el ecuatoriano Juan Cazares, a préstamo en Barcelona de Guayaquil.

Por su parte, Sánchez, quien fue titular en todos los partidos de Ramón Díaz como DT, dejará por primera vez la formación para ser parte del banco de suplentes, algo que ayer le adelantó el entrenador en la práctica.

River volverá a entrenarse mañana en el predio de Ezeiza a puertas cerradas y tras la práctica, el entrenador brindará su habitual conferencia de prensa en la que confirmará a los titulares y a los concentrados para enfrentar a Arsenal.

Olimpia dominates Newell´s and passes to the round of sixteen

The Paraguayan team completely dominated their visitors.

The goals for the Paraguayan team Olimpia were scored by Uruguayan Juan Manuel Salgueiro (30 and 75 minutes) and Argentinian Juan Carlos Ferreyra (54 and 77).

Victor Casco scored for Newell´s at 47 minutes.

In a high octane game, Olimpia bent the visiting team to their will partially owing to the fact that Gerardo Martino´s team played a man down from 27 minutes into the game. Goalkeepr Nahuel Guzmán was expelled.

Guzmán was shown the red card for his penalty against Uruguayan Sebastián Ariosa, who entered into the penalty area with the opportunity to score, and juked Guzmán. Guzmán knocked Ariosa down and the Colombian referee José Bultrago showed the red card to the goalkeeper. Salgueiro converted the opportunity into a point.

The victory by the Paraguayan team, Olimpia, came at exactly the moment when the Argentinian team Newell´s has been at the height of its abilities.

At 47 minutes the game was tied in a suprising manner, when, in an individual play Argentinian defender Victor Casco scored on a Paraguayan team that had not readied itself for second half play.

However, Juan Carlos Ferreyra, the Argentinian forward who currently plays for Olimpia, headed the ball in at 54 minutes to add another point for the Paraguayans.

At 75 minutes, the best player on the black striped team, Salgueiro, scored the third goal for his team, after displaying his impressive personal talent.

Two minutes later, at 77, Ferreyra headed the ball in again after recieving the ball from Salustiano Candia from the right side.

The Paraguayan team could have scored even more goals on offensive plays by Salgueiro and Ferreyra, who received the ball from Candia and forwards Ariosa, Jorge Báez and WIlson Pittoni.

Even with a victory over Lara, the ´U´ of Chile says goodbye to Libertadores hopes

The Universidad de Chile beat Venezuelan squad Deportiva Lara 3-2 this Thursday, and even with the victory they cannot qualify for the next round of competition. The game was part of the sixth and final series of scheduled games which ended Group 7 with no surprises.

For the Chileans, the goals came after a Luciano Civelli headed the ball into the goal in spectacular fashion at 45 minutes. Shortly thereafter Isaac Díaz (46) put the ball in from long range, close to being out of bounds. César Cortés put the third goal in at 78 minutes. The Venezuelans responded by means of José Torrealba who took advantage of an opportunity when the ball got free near the penalty box at 46 minutes, and Zamir Valoyes (84) after a quick play on the ball.

Charles goal gave the victory to the home team. It also served as payback to the 2-0 defeat that Palmeiras endured at the hands of Libertad back on February 28th at the Nicolás Leoz stadium in Asuncion.

Palmeiras on Thursday assured passage to the second round of the 2013 Copa Libertadores after beating Paraguay´s Libertad 1-0 in a match held in front of 35,000 fans at the Pacaembú stadium in Sao Paulo.

With a game yet to play, the ´Verdao´ are top of Group 2 with 9 points. The only goal in the contest came off the boot of midfielder Charles in the 52nd minute.

After brilliantly controlling a pass from Juninho outside the box Charles was able to slot home his winner through the legs of keeper Rodrigo Muñoz.

The match seemed to pick up after that first goal as the Paraguayans launched a ferocious attack in the second half.

A draw would have given Libertad 11 points and one foot into the next round and so in the first half they set out to defend which limited their attacking possibilities to free kicks.

For their part Palmeiras, who is in the second division of football in Brazil, was more aggressive although not determined enough to put one into the back of the net.

The home team came with a vengeance after the break and seven minutes later came the goal came from Charles, his second in this year´s Copa Libertadores.

The game took on another dimension when Wesley received a red card for accumulation of yellows.

Libertad left the offensive scheme and coach Rubén Israel tightened the attack to find a tie or victory.

The tie almost happened in the 63rd when the ball landed in the box that keeper Fernando Prass could not get to. He was saved by defenseman Mauricio Ramos who was able to clear it out of danger.

With a man advantage Libertad kept attacking without mercy but Palmeiras, in the final minutes, dedicated themselves to protecting the valuable 1-0 lead which they were able to do and punch their ticket to the next round.

U-17 Sudamericano: Uruguay eliminates Bolivia giving Peru a place in the next stage

Uruguay soundly defeated Bolivia 5-1 and with the win has given Peru a spot in the next round. Uruguay and Peru have then qualified from Group B together with Brazil to play for four spots up for grabs to the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The Uruguayans have 8 points followed by Brazil (7), Peru (4), Chile (3) and Bolivia (1).

Brazil will now face Peru to close out the group stage at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza which is 1,100 kilometers west of Buenos Aires.

Chile has already played all their games for this round and so cannot climb any further in the standings.

Uruguay took advantage of an unguarded Bolivia and delivered a rout that began a few minutes into the game with an Alan Méndez goal that opened the scoring in the 7th minute.

Franco Acosta then scored the next three goals (34, 38 and 48 minutes). Francisco Pizzichillo (58) finished off the scoring for Uruguay while Saúl Aquino (72) got the lone goal for Bolivia.

Boliva, who has never won a Sudamericano title, leave the tournament with a draw against Chile (1-1) and three losses against Peru (0-1), Brazil (1-3) and now Uruguay.

Paraguay, Argentina and Venezuela are the three that have qualified from Group A and are now waiting to see how the final games in Group B shake out to know who their opponents will be next Sunday when the final round begins.
