Boca jugará a puertas cerradas

BUENOS AIRES -- Boca Juniors deberá jugar su próximo partido como local a puertas cerradas, según la sanción que le aplicó el miércoles el Comité de Seguridad en el Fútbol por los incidentes registrados ante River Plate en La Bombonera, el domingo pasado en el Superclásico.

La medida tiene carácter preventivo y entrará en vigencia en el partido ante Colón de Santa Fe, que se jugará sin público en el estadio Alberto J. Armando y será válido por la 14ta. fecha del Torneo Final de Primera División.

Esta sanción ya está firme, pero trascendió que podría ser ampliada de acuerdo a lo que exija la justicia o a partir del descargo que hará Boca Juniors.

Por tal motivo, todavía está latente la posibilidad de que se decrete la clausura del estadio luego de que el Comité de Seguridad analice la postura de Boca o según lo que dictamine la justicia.

"Se abrió un sumario para que Boca haga un descargo y se le solicitó al club que entregue una nómina de las personas que participaron en los disturbios. Después, analizaremos si la medida sigue como hasta ahora o se amplía", explicó una fuente del Comité de Seguridad.

Además, la semana que viene el Comité de Seguridad hará inspecciones en La Bombonera para evaluar cuestiones infraestructurales como la malla que se incendió durante el partido.

Los incidentes comenzaron cuando se jugaba el segundo tiempo del Superclásico (1-1) de la 12da. fecha del Torneo Final, cuando hinchas locales comenzaron a arrojar pirotecnia. En ese contexto, el partido estuvo suspendido durante 10 minutos.

La medida adoptada por el Comité tiene carácter preventivo y entrará en vigencia en el partido ante Colón de Santa Fe, que será válido por la 14ta. fecha del torneo Final de Primera División.

El Comité de Seguridad en el Fútbol está compuesto por miembros del Ministerio de Seguridad, el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, el Ministerio Público Fiscal de la Ciudad, la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino y la Policía Federal Argentina.

En los allanamientos realizados por la justicia el lunes en el estadio se encontraron al menos tres bolsas con pirotecnia en los ductos de los baños y personal de seguridad del club admitió que la noche del sábado ingresó gente por un alambrado y no lo informó.

Después de los allanamientos, el fiscal porteño Martín López Zavaleta dictó la clausura de la primera y segunda bandeja preventivamente, con el objetivo de preservar estos elementos probatorios.

Migliore busca su excarcelación

BUENOS AIRES -- El arquero de San Lorenzo de Almagro, Pablo Migliore, intentó demostrar hoy que es "amigo íntimo" del barra de Boca Maximiliano Mazzaro y así poder logar la excarcelación, y el juez Manuel De Campos decidirá el jueves si concede la libertad o lo mantiene detenido.

Migliore, procesado como encubridor de Mazzaro -el dos de La 12 y prófugo en una causa por homicidio- declaró por tercera vez ante el juez De Campos a quien le entregó fotos, documentos y presentó testigos para acreditar que es amigo de Mazzaro desde los 10 años, según declaró, informaron fuentes judiciales.

La estrategia de declararse "amigo íntimo" con una relación desde los 10 años, fue de Oscar Moyano, el nuevo defensor de Migliore, dejando de lado los servicios de Víctor Stinfale y Matías Morla.

Ocurre que el Código Penal establece que se está exento del delito de encubrimiento "los que hubieren obrado en favor del cónyuge, de un pariente cuyo vínculo no excediere del cuarto grado de consanguinidad o segundo de afinidad o de un amigo íntimo o persona a la que se debiese especial gratitud".

Para sostener la declaración de Migliore, Moyano llevó testigos y pruebas para sostener que es amigo íntimo de Mazzaro.

La Cámara del Crimen ya rechazó ese argumento cuando confirmó la detención de Migliore al considerar que no estaba probada la relación íntima con Mazzaro, aunque uno de los camaristas pidió profundizar ese aspecto de la causa Voceros consultados por DyN señalaron que el juez De Campos resolverá mañana el pedido de excarcelación de Migliore y otro que presentó Maximiliano Levy, también acusado de encubrir a Mazzaro.

Por su parte, el representante del arquero, Marcelo Di Lauro, admitió que si llega a quedar en libertad está acordado con el club una licencia de al menos unos diez días para que el jugador esté con la familia.

Migiliore fue detenido el 31 de marzo en la cancha de San Lorenzo acusado de encubrir a Mazzaro cuando se detectó a través de una escucha que estuvieron juntos y el arquero hizo una llamada pidiendo que le preparen al barra un auto para poder continuar prófugo.

Todos se da en la causa por el crimen de Ernesto Cirino, ocurrido el 29 de agosto de 2011 en Pieres y Caaguazú, Liniers, cuando discutió por el pis de su perro con su vecino, Gustavo Petrinelli, cuñado del jefe de la barra de Boca, Mauro Martín.

Cirino murió por una golpiza que recibió cuando llegaron al lugar Martín, Mazzaro y Daniel Wehbe, también prófugo y a quien el jefe de "La 12" sindica como el agresor Martín y su cuñado están procesados por el delito de homicidio simple, mientras que Migliore y Levy lo están por el de encubrimiento agravado.

Atlético Mineiro imponerer stort og må være favoritter til titlen. De er et monster på hjemmebanen Independência, hvor de ikke har tabt siden arenaen blev genåbnet for over et år siden. På udebanen har de også vist "big balls" med gode resultater i Arsenal de Sarandí (5-2), The Stongest (2-1) og São Paulo (2-1).
Fluminense har pt ikke spillet til at blande sig i kampen om Sydamerikas fornemste klubtitel. Der er meget, som hænger på skuldrene af Fred. Deco er væk med karantæne, og Thiago Neves og Wellington Nem kæmper for at genfinde formen.

Atletico Mineiro ser ud til at være holdet, iøjeblikket - personligt håber jeg på NPATO´s drenge fra Porto Alegre, selvom jeg tror det bliver sværere end man regner med mod Santa Fé.

Når det så er sagt, så som du tidligere har været inde på med Timão så skal de ikke undervurderes, vinderen af Boca - Corinthians må forventes at få en del momentum...Velez tja...tror ikke helt man skal afskrive Newell´s endnu i det opgør, selvom de imodsætning til Boca og Velez også har noget at spille for i den i den nationale turnering.

Olimpia, kan og bør vel sparke Tigre ud, Nacional bør være bedre en peruanerne i Montevideo...og Palmeiras - Tijuana er vel 60-40 i Verdão ´s favør.

faktum er dog at ATletic Mineiro er favoritterr ud fra det rent spillemæssige...

La U takes Copa Chile final with last-minute goal

Both teams went into this crucial “Clásico Universitario” evenly matched. Universidad Católica had been enjoying a good run in the league of late while Universidad de Chile was fresh from its dramatic “Superclásico” win over Colo Colo. The two Santiago teams are still in contention for the Primera Division top-spot but it was Universidad de Chile who took home the first trophy of the season in a frenetic match that saw it come out as deserving winners.

Universidad de Chile lined up in an attacking 3-4-3, with its midfield in a diamond that allowed Gustavo Lorenzetti to sit behind Isaac Díaz, the central striker. Juan Ignacio Duma and Charles Aránguiz, the heroes of “La U’s” win over Colo Colo were playing down the right, with Duma ahead of his teammate in what would turn out to be a match-winning partnership. Católica, meanwhile, was organized in a more conservative 4-3-3 with the prolific Argentine striker, Ismael Sosa, leading the attack. Universidad de Chile’s willingness to attack would set the tone for the evening.

Universidad de Chile looked the more aggressive team from the kick-off and the first goal came only three minutes in when Lorenzetti won the ball deep in Católica’s half before playing a perfect through ball to his teammate, Diaz, who scored with a calm and balanced finish, leaving Cristopher Toselli stranded in no-man’s land.

“La U” continued to attack in numbers after its goal, leaving space for its opponents to capitalize and Católica equalized in the 13th minute with a well-worked team goal that saw Sosa benefit from some clever link-up play between Carlos Bueno and Carlos Villanueva. Sosa scored with a simple tap-in after Villanueva released the Argentine striker with a low pass from the left wing.

The first half continued with frantic intensity. Sosa narrowly missed a glorious chance, as he went one-on-one with Herrera, only for the goalkeeper to block the shot well, shortly after César Cortés had broken down the left for Universidad de Chile up at the other end of the pitch with explosive pace.

With the game delicately poised mid-way through the first half, and with both teams breaking in numbers whenever the opportunity arose, it was only a matter of time before the teams would find themselves stretched and eventually nervousness would lead to recklessness. On the 27th minute Gonzalo Sepúlvida was sent off for a ludicrously high kick on Lorenzetti that saw the Católica midfielder catch his opponent in the face with his studs.

The sending off forced Católica to sit back for the remainder of the first half and it coped well with Universidad de Chile’s waves of attack thereafter. Católica looked to repeat this feat during the opening stages of the second half, switching formations to a compact 4-4-1 that closed “La U” out of the game for long periods. However, it also left Sosa isolated on his own up front, all but putting an end to any chance of “Los Cruzados” scoring a winner.

Universidad de Chile continued to attack, exploiting their one-man advantage and Católica’s willingness to sit-back but “Los Cruzados” refused to give in. Duma came close on a number of occasions. In the 68th minute he misplaced a header from close range and in the 73rd minute he had a goal ruled offside by the narrowest of margins. The more Universidad de Chile pressed and the closer Duma came to scoring, the more severe the nineteen year-old striker’s seemingly perpetual expression of disbelief looked.

With the pressure building and with the match entering extra time, Universidad de Chile won a free kick on the edge of the Católica area. Aránguiz struck the ball with power and the shot looked goalbound, but the flight of the ball took a vicious dip and hit the post. “La U” must have been wondering what more it would have to do to break the deadlock, but as the clock wound down it was Duma who finally found the back of the net. After a clever one-two that saw the substitute, Sergio Velázquez, combining with Aránguiz, the Chilean released Duma who was able to slot home from close range.

It will be interesting to see how Católica recover from this loss, but after it lost Sepúlvida, “Los Cruzados” looked as though they were all too content to play for penalties. The reckless challenge and their unwillingness to risk anything going forward proved fatal. Católica will need more belief in itself if it is to go any further in the league. Universidad de Chile’s season suddenly looks very different. This is its second win over major rivals in less than a week. It’s also the first Copa Chile trophy “La U” has taken since 2000. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Universidad de Chile carry this momentum through in the league toward a historic double this season.

Atlético Mineiro 4 São Paulo 1 (6-2): Jô hat-trick puts Cuca’s team into quarter-finals

Atlético Mineiro thrashed São Paulo 4-1 on Wednesday night in Belo Horizonte to progress to the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores, going through 6-2 on aggregate.

Atlético took a 2-1 lead into the game, having won the first leg in São Paulo, and a revival from Ney Franco’s team was never on the cards after three goals from Jô and one from Diego Tardelli left them battered and bruised at the Independência.

Cuca’s team were in the mood straight from kick-off, with Ronaldinho firing a free-kick against the bar in the early stages. But Atlético did not have to wait long to make the break through.

São Paulo were struggling to adapt to the pace and skill of the home side’s attack and on 17 minutes Diego Tardelli, from the right hand side, and found Bernard, free in the box, who was tackled by Rafael Toloi but the ball fell for Jô to fire emphatically past Rogério Ceni.

Ganso had the away side’s best chance in the first half when put through against Victor but saw his shot blocked.

The score was 1-0 at half-time but Atlético came out for the second half flying and scored three goals in 10 minutes to put the result out of reach for São Paulo.

Firstly, 17 minutes into the second half, Jô got his second after Leandro Donizete headed the ball into his path for him to fire through Ceni’s legs. Two minutes later, Diego Tardelli anticipated a header from Rafael Toloi back to Ceni following a long ball and managed to lift the ball over the veteran keeper to make it 3-0 on the night.

And then Jô completed his hat-trick five minutes later when Ronaldinho broke down the left and played a disguised pass to the edge of the box for the arriving former Manchester City striker to drill the ball low into the bottom corner.

São Paulo managed a consolation goal through Luis Fabiano with 15 minutes to go when a shot from left was spilled by Victor into the striker’s path and the ball trickled into the net.

The game finished 4-1 and showed a real statement of intent from an Atlético side who must now be considered one of the favourites to go and win the competition and will now face either Palmeiras or Tijuana (MEX) in the next round.

São Paulo rule out sacking Ney Franco despite Libertadores defeat

São Paulo have ruled out sacking manager Ney Franco, despite the team´s defeat to Atlético Mineiro in Copa Libertadores.

The defeat cost São Paulo a place in the quarter-finals of the competition and increased calls for Ney Franco´s sacking.

São Paulo´s director of football Adalberto Batista told reporters: "The 4-1 scoreline was caused by the circumstances of needing to get a good result. Ney [Franco] will surely stay."

"We will keep working to do things right in the rest of the season."

São Paulo were missing Luís Fabiano in the first leg, while Lúcio and Osvaldo could not play the second leg, so Adalberto Batista played down the result.

He does not think big changes are needed, he said: "We need to tweak the team a little bit, we are looking for opportunities in the transfer market."

"We know we have a good squad, and if we sign a player or two, we will be prepared for the Brazilian league.

São Paulo goalkeeper Rogério Ceni unsure about retirement

São Paulo´s experienced goalkeeper Rogério Ceni has refused to confirm rumors that he could retire at the end of the season, following São Paulo´s 1-4 defeat to Atlético Mineiro for the round of 16 of Copa Libertadores.

The 40-year old goalkeeper had claimed before that 2013 could be his last participation in Copa Libertadores.

When asked by reporters about the claim he could retire in December, he said: "I can´t make any prevision about the future. It´s bad enough I have to react after the defeat."

"I will not talk about the future, there is no condition to talk about this."

Rogério Ceni joined São Paulo in 1992 and has played more than 1,000 games for the club, scoring 111 goals, most of them from free kicks.

He was named the best Brazilian goalkeeper six times and was in the Brazilian national team squad in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups
