Leeds United are among the clubs interested in signing Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer journalist posted on X [10 August] that Leeds are competing with Burnley as well as clubs from Germany for the England Under-21 international.
Humphreys, who spent last season on loan at Swansea City to gain 24 games’ worth of Championship experience, has appeared for the Chelsea first team on two occasions in cup competitions.
Leeds remain in the market for several transfer targets and need defensive cover having seen eight defenders depart Elland Road this summer, with Chelsea preferring a permanent exit.
Leeds United in Humphreys hunt
Leeds United are certainly in the market to gather a few more additions, having so far completed just three outfield arrivals.
The Humphreys deal would make sense if they can fend off the advances of Burnley – with whom they are expected to compete for a Premier League spot later this season – as well as Bundesliga outfits.
🚨🔵 Bashir Humphreys will leave Chelsea in the coming days either on loan or permanent.
Leeds United and Burnley among clubs showing concrete interest, Bundesliga clubs also keen as England U21 international will try new chapter.
As it stands, Chelsea prefer a sale.
