UEFA Champions League registration allows clubs to have two squads: a main List A (max 25 players with 8 "locally-trained") and a List B (for young, club-trained players, unlimited number). During the league phase, clubs submit these lists, with specific deadlines for the knockout stage where up to three new players can be registered regardless of prior European competition involvement. Goalkeepers must be included in the lists with a minimum of two on List A and three total.

Squad Registration

List A: Clubs can register a maximum of 25 players on this list.
Locally-Trained Players: At least eight spots on List A must be reserved for locally-trained players. A player is considered locally-trained if they have been registered with a club in the same country for three continuous years between the ages of 15 and 21.
Goalkeepers: Each club must have at least two goalkeepers on List A, and a minimum of three goalkeepers in total (combining both lists).

List B Registration

Eligibility: Players on List B must be born on or after January 1st of the year following the club´s entry year (e.g., 2004 for the current season).
Club Affiliation: They must have been registered with the club for a continuous period of two years.
Unlimited Players: Clubs can register an unlimited number of players on List B.

Reasons why Ishe Samuels-Smith rejoined Chelsea:

- His competitor Ismael Doukoure had been frozen out over a contract impasse when he joined but he ultimately extended his contract by a further two years in late August,
- Chilwell also joined,
- Deemed an important player to BlueCo so decision taken together to loan him to Swansea,
- Reversal similar to when Chelsea let winger Tyler Dibling return to Southampton which was then due partly to ´homesickness´ at the time and effectively were given a refund on the transfer fee they paid in 2022.

Chelsea har 43 førstehold spillere, 13 af disse er på udlån, to er stadig til salg, her kan enten Tyrkiet eller Saudi stadig være et bud, de sidste 28 spillere er inkluderet i spiller truppen.

Ud af de 28 er 27 spillere muligt at bruge i Champions League, Chelsea har en aftale mod UEFA hvor man skal leve op til nogle økonomiske krav, man må gå ud fra at Chelsea har vurderet at hvis man tilmeldte ham (som man har plads til) med 23 registreret på A listen og de andre fire spillere kan bruges på B listen, så er den eneste forklaring på at han ikke er registreret er at man er bange for ikke at overholde aftalen.

Som BS skriver var han blevet registreret hvis ikke handlen med George var fald igennem lige til sidst.

Nu er spilleren kun på lån i første omgang så skulle man fravælge en spiller giver det mening det bliver ham.

Til sammenligning har Liverpool og Manchester United 27 registrerede førstehold spillere, altså en mindre, så historien er vist ikke større end som så?
