Spot on Vince ...!

Deal which allows Chelsea to sell tickets “close to being finalised”

After some interminable negotiations between Chelsea and the government, Ben Rumsby of the Times is reporting that a deal is close that will allow the club to sell tickets to games while sanctioned.

The government has insisted that Roman Abramovich can’t receive any money from sales, as part of the sanctions on the Chelsea owner, but until now they had somehow been unable to come up with a solution that would allow tickets to be sold without the oligarch taking any money from the proceeds.

Just 600 fans – those who had bought tickets before sanctions were announced – were able to attend the game against FA Cup quarter final against Middlesbrough, and there were fears that we were going to see more games in the next few weeks with even fewer fans in attendance.

Finally it seems like common sense has prevailed, and some kind of arrangement has almost been concluded at last.

Bl.a. fordi:

Exclusive: Chelsea can sell some tickets again but can´t receive cash.

Tickets can be sold for CL QF v Real Madrid & FA Cup semifinal against Palace. Also away fans can buy tickets at Chelsea for PL games but new tickets can´t be sold to home fans

Premier League to receive cash from tickets sold to Chelsea fans for away games and to away fans at Chelsea.

FA Cup and Champions League Chelsea ticket sales proceeds to go to the FA and UEFA - and likely to charity.

@Benni

Under this licence, subject to the conditions below, the Parent may pay the Club up to £30,000,000.00 in respect of cashflow or liquidity issues faced by the Club.
