If true, this won´t be because Liverpool can´t afford Salah´s wage expectations but largely because the club/owners want to maintain a wage structure that they´re not prepared to break. I´m sure the offer made exceeds the current wage structure, however.
If a deal can´t be reached by the summer, an offer of £90m+ might be too tempting for the owners to turn down given he could leave on a free a year later. Club has a huge decision to make, one way or another, over the next several months.
Just for context- including very lucrative bonuses, Salah will have been earning in excess of £350k per week since he signed his current deal in July 2018.
Fra en jeg følger omkring økonomien i klubben og jeg er meget enig i tankerne omkring situationen.
“Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.”
