Aston Villa are considering a move for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as one of multiple options to strengthen their forward line.
Rashford, 27, is available for loan having been left out of the United team for the last 12 matches by Ruben Amorim, and Villa need a new attacker as Jhon Duran heads Al Nassr for €77million (£64.5m) plus add-ons and Emi Buendia has joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
Rashford’s preference has been to join Barcelona or stay at United and therefore if he was to contemplate Premier League options such as Villa it is likely he will need some convincing.
Barcelona’s ability to finance a potential deal remains uncertain, however, and though striking a conciliatory tone, Amorim raised the prospect of Rashford continuing to be frozen out beyond Monday’s transfer deadline by insisting he would only recall the England international if improves in training.
In those circumstances, Rashford may consider alternatives and Villa could represent a persuasive case should they choose to proceed due to their place in the last-16 of the Champions League. Affording the money to cover the required portion of Rashford’s wages, worth £325,000 per week, is a further complicating factor.
Tja ift. at se Rashford i en engelsk klub er det her vel blandt de mere neutrale skift han kunne lave. Jeg ville i hvert fald ikke have det store imod at have sympati med Villa hvis han spillede for dem.
