Angående Portsmouth...

Hvis vi havde skrevet kontrakt med bare halvdelen af de spillere som diverse rygter har sat os i forbindelse med, ville en 8. plads nok ikke være skudt helt ved siden af. Nu er det bare sådan, at vi blot har hentet to spillere indtil nu, hvoraf den ene er på en 1-årig lejeaftale. Anelka er f.eks. ikke skiftet til Fratton Park (endnu). Til gengæld har vi forlænget kontrakterne med et par af stamspillerne så som Gary O´Neil, Matty Taylor og Lua Lua. Faktum er dog, at truppen ikke er blevet væsentligt forstærket i forhold til sidste sæson hvor vi med nød og næppe undgik faldlemmen, så vurderet alene ud fra vores nuværende trup er der ikke meget mere at komme efter end en 14.-15. plads. Specielt vores defensiv og angreb må være blandt Premier Leagues 4-5 ringeste. At klubben så måske kan ende i tabellens øvre halvdel hvis vi for tilført ekstra forstærkninger, er til gengæld ikke udelukket.

Det er næsten deprimerende læsning ja, men også typisk for Pompey. Det er heller ikke overraskende, at det eneste deciderede indkøb vi har gjort indtil nu, slet ikke er blandt spillerne på listen - nemlig Thompson fra Wigan. Han er i øvrigt, som jeg ser det, ikke nogen decideret forstærkning.

Det ville da være befordrende for spændingen i PL hvis Chelski blev frataget point, hvis de IGEN har brudt reglerne for handel af spillere.

Go Bates, go!

Mon ikke bare Bates vil have lidt flere penge for spillerne, jeg har da i hvert fald svært ved at se hvordan han vil bevise ulovligheder.

Men sjovt at Bates går i krig mod Rusland og det her er jo spot on:

8 dage til kick off, og med forbehold for kommende transfers.

1) Chelsea
I særklasse sidste sæson, og har forstærket sig markant. Sikker nr. 1

2) Liverpool
Benitez arbejder den rigtige vej. Sammentømret trup, der også er forstærket markant med flere spillere. Specielt tror jeg Bellamy bliver en kæmpe gevinst, hvis han holdes skadefri. Et homogent hold uden svagheder. Midtbanen ser super ud.

3) Arsenal
Henry bomber videre og sikrer 3. pladsen. Ikke de store armbevægelser på Highbury, - Rosicky bliver spændende at følge. Fysikken kan blive et problem. Forsvaret kunne trænge til forstækning, mens Fabregas kan udvikle sig til en moderne Vierra. Han bliver en nøglespiller, sammen med Henry.

4) Newcastle
Til manges overraskelse i tæt kampløb med Tottenham og Man U sikerer Newcastle sig den vitale 4 plads. Med et par sandsynlige forstærkninger i alle kæder, specielt angrebet får Roeder sat dynamik over spillet. Duff og Emre bliver de offensive omdrejningspukter, mens Parker spiller endnu en sæson i særklasse. Ameobi vil overraske mange positivt med hans mere og mere udviklede akavede stil.

5) Tottenham
Bygger videre på Jols framragende arbejde sidste sæson. Zokora (man glemmer Carrick-savnet) og Barbatov bliver vigtige figurer. Kanterne mangler lige det sidste inden vi ryger højere op.

6) Man U
Vil skuffe fælt den kommende sæson. Alt for meget afhænger af Rooney efter Nistelrooys afgang. En skade til ham og problemerne vælter ind. Hvordan vil Ronaldo tackle den formodede modgang ? På den anden kan mangler man kvalitet. Carrick vil gøre en pæn figur, men ingen forskel. Forsvaret ser acceptabelt ud. Generelt mangler der meget for at nå tidligere tiders styrke. Mon det ender med Ferguson får sparket ?

På de efterfølgede pladser er meget åbent, men jeg spår Blackburn og Everton til at komme på de næste pladser, dog en del point efter Man. United.

Jeg tror Chelsea vinder ligaen sikkert, mens Liverpool og Arsenal vil ligge tæt. Newcastle, Tottenham og Man U ligger også tæt men dog 5-10 point efter Arsenal på 3. pladsen.
