En Stoke City supporter skriver vedrørende Begovic-transferen:
Whilst I would like us to get a very good young keeper, or a very good old keeper, from Pompey, as any fan would, the goings on at Pompey cause me far greater concern. If Stoke are trying to do business with them, I hope that due care is being taken about who we´re dealing with, and whether they have the authority to act.
The FSF and Supporters Direct are working with the supporters groups at Pompey to try to get urgent regulatory action from the Football Authorities. Sources within the Club are also involved.
One has to be careful about the terms in which things are said on a public message Board. The ownership of the Portsmouth club is now separate from the ground and surrounding areas. The Club appears to be now being run by someone called Daniel Azoughi.
This gentleman was disbarred from practicsing law for 14 years following involvement in a fraud case, and has a conviction as recently as March 2009. If he is, in effect, acting as a Director in a decision-making role at a football club he should be subject to the Premier League and FA fit and proper persons tests. It is a matter of interesting speculation whether he would pass such tests. There is also an interesting question as to whether he needs or has a work permit to work in the UK.
It is not only the Manager and Chief Executive who have been kept out of the loop over transfer activity. It is also believed to be the non-executive Chairman. There are also major qconcerns about whether money from transfer dealings will be directed into the football club. Indeed it is a matter of speculation whether the football club will exist at all in a few weeks time, unless some action by the football authorities is taken.
The transfer activity feels almost like the football equivalent of looting at the moment. I feel hugely sorry for the loyal Pompey fans. no-one deserves this to happen to their Club and we will give them every support we can.
And I hope that those involved at our club, know what they are doing and who they dealing with.
