Rigtig god gennemgang af mediedækningen fra en tidligere journalist fra Reuters.

I truly hope reporters, editors and executives across newsrooms are reckoning with the damage they have caused and have the courage to admit that they made a mistake. Trust in journalism is already at a historic low and we can only preserve civil discourse and debate if we can rely on the facts put forth by the Fourth Estate."
"In conclusion:
For more than 12 hours, Reuters and other news outlets reported claims by Gaza officials, flip flopping on whether to portray their claims, including the death count, as facts, or attribute them to an official.
For 12 hours, Hamas has not provided any proof for its allegation that it was an Israeli strike that hit the hospital, or for the death count. Yet Reuters and other news outlets keep reporting those claims, often without disclosing that they have not been able to verify the information.
How journalists decide to structure their stories, whose voices they elevate and whose voices they question or assign lesser significance to by moving them further down in the story has profound implications. October 17th/18th was a devastating day for all of those relying on media organizations to provide unbiased and verified information in a world that appears to be increasingly on edge."
