Så fik jeg svar på min Unit 3 eksamen:
Tasting: Pass
Theory: Pass

Ingen udmærkelser, men trods alt en lettelse at nå så langt. Nu gælder det så en udskudt eksamen i spiritus (Unit 4). Boooriiiing!!

Tillykke, så er du snart MS?
MS er en overbygning til Sommelier-uddannelsen. Og jeg er ikke Sommelier/vintjener.
WSET Diploma hedder uddannelsen. Den er mere almen/mindre restaurant-orienteret - og peger frem mod MW (Master of Wine).

Er lige blevet inviteret til at dømme som Associate Judge ved International Wine Challenge i London til November, men der skal jeg til spiritus-eksamen, så dommerdebuten bliver først til næste IWC (april 2016).

Jeg har lige fået to Vigna Grande fra Peter Vinding-Diers. Glæder mig til at prøve en snart og så gemme en i mange år. Syg pris for sicilansk vin, men fedt nok med vin fra en stor legende.

Lyder lækkert. Fortæl gerne mere? Håber I har fået arrangeret nogle ordentlige aftaler med diverse producenter, for ellers risikerer I vel potentielt at producenterne er mere optagede af høsten end af besøgende entusiaster?

Har lige bestilt en, synes jeg selv, ret spændende vin: 2003 Domaine du Haut Bourg Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu "Origine"
12,80 Euro. Vinen er først aftappet i 2013 - efter 10 år(!) på bærmen i underjordisk tank. Parker (himself):

"The 2003 Muscadet Origine is one of the most distinctive wines I have ever tasted. Old dogs can learn new tricks and this Muscadet, made from the estate’s oldest vines (planted in 1944), was aged on its lees in tank for ten years and only bottled in 2013. Readers may know that 2003 was a bizarre year of excessive heat and drought, and while some great red wines were produced, they were few and far between. For white wines, it was largely a disastrous vintage as they did not possess any acidity. The white grapes had to be picked so early that there was a lack of mature flavors in the wines as well. Somehow, this offering overcame all of those problems. The wine is fresh and lively, and its decade of lees aging has given it a texture and richness that is rare for a Muscadet. The finish goes on and on, and the wine’s vibrancy, honeyed citrus and minerality are remarkable. This is a tour de force and, to reiterate, one of the most original dry whites I have ever tasted. It is difficult to say how long a wine such as this will age, but at present it is a vibrant, fresh, delicious white wine."
