2011 Alpha Estate Xinomavro Hedgehog Vineyard PDO Amyndeon, Græsk Makedonien.
(alkohol: 14%)

Spændende, intens og ret kompleks næse, der kombinerer liflige violer, sure kirsebær og blommer med dybere undertoner af tomatkoncentrat, sort te, asfalt, engelsk lakrids og vanilje. I munden tør med høj syre, markante - men ikke deciderede rå - tanniner, medium+ alkohol, medium+ fylde og medium+, letbitter/urtet finish.

Rigtig god vin, som forener umiddelbar frugtappeal med markant mineralsk og diskret fadrelateret kompleksitet samt seriøst bid fra syre og tannin. Alsidig madvin - prøv den f.eks. som alternativ til Chianti Classico Riserva, Barolo eller Aglianico. Masser af potentiale - og f...ing outstanding til 85kr!

Endnu et par grækere...

2013 Ktima Pavlidis Thema Red PGI Drama Macedonia Greece
The wine is deep ruby with slightly purple rim. It is developing, with medium(+) intensity aromas of ripe (bordering jammy) red and black fruit (sweet cherry, bramble, black plums) with additional notes of kernel and oak (mocha, dark chocolate and vanilla). The wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, medium(+) fine-grained tannins, high alcohol, full body, viscous mouthfeel and medium(+) intensity flavours reflecting the nose. Medium(+), slightly bitter (tea leaf) finish.

It´s a very good wine. The alcohol is slightly warming, but well-contained within pure and opulent fruit, and well-complemented by oaky complexity and a marked acidic-tannic structure.

Stylistically reminiscent of serious modern syrah-blends from the Languedoc-Roussillon, with depth of fruit and solid structure for at least another 3-5 years of bottle ageing.

2014 Kir-Yianni Paranga PGI Macedonia Greece
The wine is pale lemon. It has a medium intensity and youthful nose showing fresh citrus fruit and light florality (granny smith, lime, jasmine) with hints of minerality (sea breeze) and reductive gunflint. The wine is dry with medium acidity, medium(-) alcohol, medium(-) body, watery mouthfeel and medium intensity flavours reflecting the nose. Medium finish.

It´s a good wine. Refreshingly watery body, complemented by good purity of fragile fruit and a pleasant, mild acidity. Neither complex, nor long or intense, but a wonderful aperitif sipper or fresh seafood companion - somewhat reminiscent of a no malo swiss fendant.

"Drak" Domaine Pegau Reserva fra 1990 og frem igår aftes.

Er sgu gået kold i den slags vin. Enten var de for mørke, søde eller for hårdt ramt af brett.

De gav mening mens vi havde en tung efterårsgryde på tallerkenen foran os, men ellers kedede de mig bravt.

De bedste var dog 1998, 1995 (magnum), 2001 og 2007.

En 1998 Laurence var også fin.

Glad for at min egen kælder er tømt for den slags.

Fik også lidt blandet champagne, bl.a. en 2008 Millesime fra André Clouet som var fremragende. En 2005 af samme vin var vanvittig sød... forstod det ikke.

Dagens bedste vin var sgu den 2013 Tony Bornard Le Chardo Gai jeg drak i toget...

Sidste indlæg i tråden er en uge gammelt og handler om Die Nektar Ungarns, skarpt forfulgt af en række IB´ske lovprisninger af græsk vin. Er I blevet splitterravende gale OG ædru? Cork Masters, tag jer sammen og få denne her tråd tilbage i Andet-dammen nu! Skål i en elendig muscadet, der ikke er værd at skrive hjem om.

Det er 100% til kølige ganer. Bourgogne-parfume møder nebbiolo-struktur med strejf af rhone-krydderi. (Xinomavro modner sent, og markerne er beliggende mange hundrede meter over havoverfladen)

The 2010 Grande Reserve is all Xinomavro, of course, aged for approximately 24 months in used French oak--the basic formula. It comes in at 13.4% alcohol. Part of this issue´s vertical, this shows very well. It is crisp and lovely. It has more finesse than concentration, but it has classic Xinomavro flavors and seems round and caressing. There is fine tension on the finish. It is still young, but it can be approached now."
