Finder også selv den nøgterne stil en lille smule kedelig, men Langdahl-stilen finder jeg stærkt forceret og forstyrrende i forhold til indholdet.
I øvrigt vist - og pinligt nok - et meget dansk fænomen(?) - er i alt fald ikke stødt på en international pendant...

Man aner dog ikke hvad man skal bruge Langdahls ordstrøm til, så jeg går som regel videre, medmindre man som her kan bruge det til almindelig hånen.

Som nævnt er han dog betydeligt mindre prætentiøs i sine bøger og iøvrigt en meget behagelig foredragsholder.

Måske har de en intern konkurrence på Gastro om, hvem der kan komme med de mest prætentiøse smagenoter. Noget kunne tyde på det.

Behave Pinot Noir 2006
A bold, gutsy Pinot Noir with plenty of weight and flavour, produced from grapes handpicked and tendered from the Odyssey Vineyard in the Brancott Valley, Marlborough. The bouquet is heavy in plum and dark cherries and on the palate, a backbone of sweet tannins. Behave exhibits a rambunctious and ebullient personality, with a treacherous undertone of colonial pragmatism. Divinely suited to holy communion, coming of age celebrations, political triumph, marriage or amicable separation and the ideal overture for first dates.

Behave Sauvignon Blanc 2008
A gorgeous single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Odyssey Wines Brancott Valley, Marlborough Estate. Delightfully vibrant and fresh with lifted aromas of passionfruit and feijoas. The palate, saturated with ripe fruits, has a succulent mouth feel and a defining flinty finish. Behave delivers mischievous and patriotic flavours, square on the nose with a dry humour, frivolous in its intention but disciplined in its delivery. It is perfectly suited to celebrations of marriage, amicable separation, political triumph, contract signings, and significant birthdays.

Bemærk at jeg skriver "underholdning" om Langdahls tekster.

Det er selvsagt mildest talt ret prædentiøst, men jeg synes det fungere OK som hans personlige vinkel på en oplevelse han har haft.

Et eksempel fra det nye Wine Advocate af Neal Martin:

Artadi El Carretil 2009:
The 2009 Carretil, the third single vineyard wine, consists of 5.3 hectares on clay-limestone soils set on sandstone rock. It has a very sensual bouquet with dark cherries, creme de cassis and creamy new oak smeared on top - without compromising delineation. The palate is full-bodied and is certainly the most voluminous of the three single vineyard wines, with perhaps the best balance and freshness, seeming to handle that oak with style. The finish is beautifully poised with life-affirming freshness. Primal but persuasive, this should turn out to be a fantastic Rioja. Drink 2020-2035.

Artadi was one of several imperative visits during my visit to Rioja, where I met respected winemaker Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle. His wines need little introduction, having already garnered glowing reviews in this publication and elsewhere. But what I was interested in discovering was whether Rioja can really exploit the minutiae of its multifarious terroirs and offer genuine nuances in a similar fashion to Burgundy or the Mosel (to give but two examples of regions where place is everything). If there is one man who lives by that philosophy, it is Juan Carlos, who oversees a coveted range of modern style Rioja that receive a generous amount of new French oak. Let us commence with the entry-level Vinas de Gain red and white. The Viura is harvested separately from Juan Carlos-s intermixed vineyard and is fermented in 500-liter French oak barrels and kept in stainless steel tanks on the lees with three of four lees-stirring.
